Yeah, too bad, I really enjoyed the cinematics from S1 and underworld, good times :)

In all honesty, Its hard to tell if Keen games (the developers for S3) have started anything yet, they are still offering a large number of jobs involved with S3 on their website. However, since I first saw that website and the positions on offer the number has decreased and now increased again with new offers, so perhaps (meaning read nothing into this) they've done some of the backend work and now are gonna begin some frontend work (UI design, models and so on) from the looks of the new positions on offer. They do still have alot of positions still up on offer though.

In any case, I wrote a note on their facebook page asking if they could give any info :P

Ah, Ostgar, I remember seeing this video on youtube a while back as well, and also hoping that a treat was there for us.

Makes the wait more suspenseful... only.. oh, a few more years?

Zomgod... they actually said that? WOW...DB, is there any other quotes on their wall about Sacred 3 recently or at all? I'd forgotten about the Keen Wall on Face book.

Doh...bad gogo

But, such great comfort you've posted!

Nah, I was the first person to mention anything from what I saw. It looks like they have semi-promoted other games they've developed via facebook...eg screenshots and links and stuff posted there.

I'm sure we will, but which year? ;)

I also wouldn't expect much info to be released on Facebook that's not released elsewhere at a similar time. But it is at least one way of getting in touch with them...

Haha...who knows?

I wasn't really hoping for any info, more just wondering if they could confirm if they had started work yet/done much. I doubt they would be allowed to say though, ergo the be patient note.

As long as it is for xbox 360 I'm happy :D im not much of a PC gamer, made a mistake on playing World of Warcraft, wasted 4years on it, vowed never to spend more than 3hours a day playing anything on my computer, but if its the Original Sacred I can make an exception :P

According to the official notes on the game - it will come out for both consoles as well as the PC.

That's always been one of the standing orders for this game. To create something that wasn't such a hog on the system. I sometimes wonder what would have happened if Ascaron had gone the way of Blizzard for just making games that work on mid-level systems.

I have played S1 when it was released for a long time and just got into playing Sacred 2 again after being away from it for a long while. I can only think of one time I ever got a bug that effected my gameplay. that was in Sacred 2 when I killed the carnach the game crashed. I reloaded it and kiled him again and it was fine. I never encountered any other bugs that dealt with questing or gameplay besides that. Maybe others have but for me I think those games were made pretty solid to play all those hours and only have that one hiccup.

I've been lucky as well (maybe that's why I've always been such a Sacred Spammer :P) And my game has always run pretty well for this franchise for the last 7 years. (wow, has it been that long) Course, many many others have complained about the bugs. Maybe I'm willing to be a bit easier on something that lets me play with my friends online. This was the first game I ever played on the net, and it changed my life.

Now content wise, I think it has become the mainstream idea to reduce content and release small games. Black Opps comes to mind, Crysis-2, TW2. The list could really go on for quite a bit. Ascarons games on the other hand, even after the main quest was done there was still so much to do and explore. The game didn`t stop with just the ending credits, it kept going, giving you reason to keep playing. Maybe to find that last set item or maybe get another level. But you could, and with a world that size you could get lost in the size and thats something I like alot about the sacred games.

I sometimes wonder whether this "model" is because of pure money, as this kind of a model makes for an enormous influx of money with having gamers buy buy buym instead of delving deep deep deep into a game. When I tell some of my friends that I have been playing my last game for two years, their jaw drops.

We have indeed become spoiled by the way ascaron created the sacred games. I thank them for that. It made me feel like the game was made by people who actually played them. ... This is why I am hoping for game the scale of the ascarons work.

Whole heartedly agree...but after two games now, I have a funny feeling that producers are going to want to make sure that that the outlay on this third game won't lead to a bankruptcy, and I can, unfortunately, only think of very few ways for them to guarantee that... a very much smaller game or something absolutely formulaic and easy to produce with tested ideas instead of fresh wild stuff like this franchise has shown us?

Prove me wrong Keen!

It seems that most companies (from IBM to the airlines) are trying to pinch pennies, normally by additional fees and charging for things that were previously "free". I would not be surprised if the base Sacred 3 was smaller but with more expansion packs.

That's actually kind of interesting. A solid, bug free release, with an insanely clever CA mechanics system, a small, beautifully designed world with no extra bugs, but with smaller releases after coming quickly...

hmmm, I could live with that

Erm.. a word to the wise, eg- MrGoGo .. im LOVING sacred 2 right now :P got it sataday absolutely love it so much I took today off work >_< (Monday) lol.. but seriously never thought it was such a huge game, ive done the Concert Quest you get awesome quest rewards for that :D and I've only uncoverd like 5.8% of the map lol and I've done 40somthing quest, I tried to do all of the side-quests, but I failed one (my first escort quest) and I skipped 1-2 because they was either tooooo far away form anything I can teleport and I didnt have a horse at the time, or either I couldnt get to it, theres this one quest in a huge huge major city, I have to kill 10 water-logged zombie or w.e (I THINK thats the right words :P) and I folllow the quest arrow I get there, all thats stopping me going through is a huge gate which is borderd up I hit the action button as if to open it or somthing and nothing happens so I gave up on that aswell, but im loving the game im only like lvl22-23 :P shadowwarrior pwnage, I dunno if I should pick Alchemy or Blacksmithing as a skill.. are they worth having?

thanks for reading :)

Ya know... The Wet Graves quest isn't hard to do - you have to just go around the hill to get to the targets. You go along the path toward the Thylysium slum area - but take a right at the fork in the road. Follow the canyon around and you're there.
