Only frustrating time I had while playing what when those 2 Charr players kept following me around and killing the skale before I got to tag them (which was the object of the event) But with some instruction they got with the program at the end.

We have a double feature this morning.

The first video is the third and final part of our epic ettin engagement. During part II, Kiyeri respawned at the closest waypoint, but stalled trying to get past the ettins to rejoin us, so we had to go back to the start to pick her up. Part III begins with us at the beginning again, ready to head south. Wygram is on his way, but is taking a different tact. He is coming around the southern side and going to join us from the other side. You can see his blue dot at the bottom of the mini map. We finally rendezvous at the skill point and make good our escape.

The second video is also set in the human zone. Flooxim discovered a tunnel that we could run through. Of course, the tunnel is already occupied by unfriendlies. It was tight quarters, so there was not a whole lot of room to maneuver. The game also have issues with pet AI and I got a little clipping in the corner.

It took us a while to get the skillpoint, the Ettins were respawning so fast, I didn't expect that at all. But when Wygram joined us, all went way better. I liked playing in that small tunnel (while some of you didn't). It's different than playing on a field with no obstacles.

My character model was the perfect height for that tunnel, I experienced little to no clipping from the sides/roof :D

Guess I missed the sign, "If you are over 3ft tall, clipping may occur". ;)

So here, we encountered a pygmy moa farm. The moas had escaped and we had to herd them back into that ominous looking pen. I have heard the expression, "herding cats" and I imagine herding moas would be similar.

I had a little trouble herding them at the beginning, but it went much better near the end of the event.

So here's antoher "skillpoint adventure". We were southeast of the starter human region, and we were under-leveled (again!). But we got that skillpoint, and I was pretty proud we got through all this.

Under-leveled again? I wonder how that could happen? thinking-idea-animated-animation-smiley-emoticon-000339-medium.gif

I blame the LT. Although in his defense, I am not sure we ever wiped on any of his "fortune favors the bold" forays.

Great video! :thumbsupsmiley:

Max, I think we were under-leveled most of the time. :4rofl:

But darn it I had fun, when I wasn't desperately trying to stay alive. :friends3:

Rats, Lujate you beat me to it.

When we last saw our pygmy moas, they were all back in their pen, safe and sound. I this next segment, their trainer teaches them to dance. Then she announces she must take the moas to town and wants us to provide escort. We all remember the suicidal NPC escort missions in Sacred 2. You will be comforted to know that NPC's in GW2 are just as suicidal. The big difference is that in GW2, you can just keep reviving them.

Hmm... guess I either wasn't around for that or I totally wasn't paying attention.

That was Saturday mid-morning, and you were not with us. You and I ran it late Friday night (technically early Saturday for me) but we did not see the moa show.

Edit:

Flooxim and I teamed up and did a remix of the Champion Forest Spider fight, merging our two videos.

Very well done. You guys are getting really fancy on your vids :D

I see my mud didn't work on the spider... guess its gonna be trial and error to see what it does and doesn't work on. I remember since the first time it failed the spider only had its front legs in it, I kept trying to see if it made a difference if it had all 8 legs in the mud. Doesn't seem to matter one way or or the other.. it simply loves mud I guess

Oh yea this escort was just a real pain compared to that other escort video I posted. That arrogant trainer kept dying and those Skritt were a real pain, I always hated them everytime I encountered them in the area.

The escort was a success and the moas arrived in town. Once there, the dancing moas put on a show.

Thanks for putting on this vid. I also recorded the show, but as you can see in your vid, I didn't have a great view of it; that's why I wanted you to post your view.

I think it turned out pretty well. Of course, we were not recording with the same program and our game didn't have the same graphic settings, but it was a good start for a possible series of "remix" video as you called them.

As those of you reading this thread probably know, I am a wee bit of a Mesmer fan. Prior to BWE3, I always chose weapon sets that had a certain amount of support in them. In BWE3, I followed a different philosophy. For BWE3, my goal was to kill everything as fast a possible, that way the enemy would have less time to do mean and hurtful things. So I spec'd MH sword and OH pistol.

In this first video, my Mesmer and Flooxim's Engineer take part in a fight against a Huge Orchard Spider boss.

In this second video, with the help of two other players, Flooxim and I just steamroll over a group of bandits. The bandits were supposed to be attacking a farm, but we killed almost every one of them before they got there.

The third video shows the first boss fight in the human commoner personal story, so it could be considered a spoiler. At the risk of sounding prideful, I am proud of myself for the way I used the pistol phantasm in this fight. A Mesmer's phantasms live until either they are killed or their target dies. By casting the phantasm on the boss before taking out his minions, my phantasm was shooting the boss while we focused on the underlings.

In the final video of this series, Wygram has joined us, and the three of us are heading for the Ettin skill point in Queensdale. We were all level 4. The mobs were level 8 or 9, and the boss at the end was level 10. Taking the mobs one at a time, we had little trouble. I doubt we could have taken out the boss without the help of other (more level appropriate) players. In this video, I detail my combat MO for the sword/pistol Mesmer.

After playing the sword/pistol Mesmer, I was convinced that the OH pistol was more valuable for group play than any of the more support-oriented OH weapons. I have since flip-flopped back and forth many times.

This fight was fun. We couldn't always see everything because of the trees, so it was a bit of a challenge.

That one was pretty easy, with the help of the different professions, it went pretty well.

This story mission was fun, and it was pretty different to fight in a building rather than outside.

I'm pretty proud of how this run went so much better than the first one. We were not the same levels as the first run (you were level 8 and I was level 2), but I liked how we really acted as a group. When you were down and it was too dangerous to revive you, we managed to pull the boss away so you could heal yourself.

Pretty good videos! I can't wait to see more.

I remember this one, this was where Max said let us go get that easy skill point. Forgetting that we had just started over again.

:Just_Cuz_21:

I would describe the skill point mission as a bold and daring raid, as opposed to the suicidal meandering campaign in the swamp later in the day. I am good with "bold and daring raid". As for "suicidal meandering campaign", I can say, with a reasonable degree ofcertainty, that I will suddenly develop pressing business elsewhere that requires my immediate attention.

In the personal story fight, I noticed they made some changes since I did it last (BWE1 I think). Last time, you were fighting in the hallways, not rooms. I shudder to think how many times I died. Moving the fights out off the narrow corridors was probably a good idea.
