We are in the home stretch now, just have to hold on a little while longer.

In this video, Assistant Chef Victor has been tasked with collecting wild skale eggs. Unfortunately for him, the skale are dangerous, numerous and quite protective. This turned out to be no normal Easter egg hunt.

That respawn rate way a bit high, kill 2 skates and 3 re-appeared or so it seemed. Watching the video I see my Ranger kind of lost :sigh: in the whole event. Killing skates but not grabbing any eggs until the end. Oh well we have to learn some how.

This incredibly short little video shows when we first discovered poison. (You may have to watch it twice, since it goes so fast.)

Edit:

I just saw this in my level 2 thief's inventory. An Exotic! To bad she did not live long enough to make the 78 levels required before she could wear it.

I remember that at the beginning of this event, I was sure that skale eggs would be drops from the skales, but no, they were in some kind of nest on the other side. I agree with Wygram, the Skales respawned a bit too fast for my taste, that explains why I get down two or three times in a row near the middle of the video. And I never thought that he would need so many eggs, I remember bringing 16 of them at once, and it only filled a small part of the progress bar, it made me say in the voice : "okay this one's gonna take a while lol"

I've been struck by poison several times. It can be really harmful on enemies, but it can also drain your health really quick if you don't pay attention.

You're so lucky! I never thought this kind of item would drop at such early levels. Do you remember how you got it? And I didn't even know you made a thief for the BWE.

I played a thief for about 25 minutes. I arrived home from my overnight trip around 3pm Sunday afternoon. Wygram was on a new character, so I decided to start one too. I wanted to try something different, so I picked Human=>Female=>Thief and then hit the Finish button to skip through the rest of character creation.

I started filming at the end of the tutorial. I have been over the footage several times. I never picked up that item, but it was in my inventory the first time I opened it up. I did some looking, and it appears to be PvP-only item. I guess it was a bug.

Lujate arn't you the one that told me that everyone is level 80 for PVP? that gold item is level 80PVP

Yes. In sPvP, every character is full level 80. I saw another video of a thief who had the same item, so it may have been an issue with that profession.

In this video, Kiyeri's level 12 Ranger, along with my level 6 Mesmer and Flooxim's and Wygram's level 6 Engineers take on a number of level 14 Veteran Basilisks. You will notice that I am doing ranged. I had already learned by this point that doing melee so under-leveled is suicide. This was also where the LT earned his battlefield commission.

(The sarcasm ended up a little thick in this video, but I still like it.)

That was fun, even if I was whinging like a little child about half the time.

I think we were assisted (saved) by a passer-by on a occasion or two during that run. :viking:

It's great that you got to capture one of these numerous moments where I'm so under-leveled and run through tough enemies thinking I'm gonna be fine. What was I thinking? I remember you weren't sure if you all wanted to follow me, but you ended up doing it because you thought it would be fun. And I got down 4 times in the first two minutes, the enemies one-shotted me. But that basilisk was pure fun.

Ya all gotta admit...

under-leveled, dying, jumping puzzles etc

everything aside.. we sure HAD FUN! :woot:

I will differ to my prior statement.

...

I would describe the skill point mission as a bold and daring raid, as opposed to the suicidal meandering campaign in the swamp later in the day. I am good with "bold and daring raid". As for "suicidal meandering campaign", I can say, with a reasonable degree ofcertainty, that I will suddenly develop pressing business elsewhere that requires my immediate attention.

...

IMO, the basilisks fall into the "bold and daring raid" category, while the rest of the expedition would be the "suicidal meandering campaign".

And now, for another video! :)

Here Kiyeri and I are playing with jars of bees.

Edit:

In the course of three BWE's, I managed to find 1 Mystic Key. I used it to open a Mystic Chest and one of the things inside was Imp Tonic. Imp Tonic serves no practical purpose, but it does turn you into an imp, which has certain "cool factor".

Edit (again):

I saw this statement regarding the difficulty in BWE3:

Greetings Heroes of Tyria,

We wanted to give you all an update on the Difficulty of BWE3, as it has been the topic of many conversations recently.

First of all, it is important to understand that the game is still in Beta and that we continue to balance on a daily basis. This said, and as usual, your feedback has proven invaluable. Following the weekend we drilled into our Event metrics, and discovered that the difficulty had indeed changed between BWE3 vs. BWE2. We moved ahead with a check on our core systems to find out if any global change/bug had incurred a generic adjustment to the balance of the game. Quickly we found this to be the case, and the issue has now been corrected.

We also wanted to take the time to mention, that we feel the overall pacing of the game is exactly where we want it. Specifically that we do not want the player to be in a constant state of overly challenging gameplay, and therefore the difficulty is now reflective of the balance found in BWE2, without a change in overall pacing.

Finally, we continue to balance both our creatures and our professions. Your feedback, once again has proven invaluable to us, and we ask that you continue to let us know what you think about the game, and keep posting your suggestions as we get ever closer to the release of Guild Wars 2.

See you in Tyria!

I remember turning into two different forms during the first beta weekend, and I also thought it was pretty cool. I had no luck finding one of these on BWE3 though.

Here's another video where we escort skales in order to free some Charr prisoners :

Taking on the Wasp Queen seems to be a tradition every BWE. Here is one of the fights from BWE3.

At one point, I camped on the water attunement for the Area of Effect heals. In hindsight, considering the long cool down times, I should probably jumped between different attunements rather than waiting for the heals to come off cool down. You live and you learn, I guess.

Yea I must admit it's pretty similar. The music is from Killer Instinct Gold. It's the Spinal Theme.

This is the same centaur skill point that Flooxim posted a video of earlier. In this video, several of us did the skill point again, this time not so under-leveled.

You've been having an easier run this time, and I don't remember centaurs spawning this fast when I did it with you. At the beginning of the video, most centaurs were charging at you; I think this was because you were the biggest threat for them.

EDIT : Here's my last video of that beta weekend. We went fighting against some Sparks in a small maze.

Looks like we all left you a little high and dry there at the end.
