Earlier in the game's life cycle, with thriving online play, I'm sure it was easier (although by no means easy). You could grind away while chatting with your friends. Solo it's much harder to keep motivated.

That refers to the console version (ps3 & Xbox360), which is a fork of any early build of the base Sacred 2. It was fixed in the I&B xpac, if not before.

When you said Steam Desk, I was thinking of a desktop running Steam OS. A handheld gaming PC? That's an interesting thought.

@Timotheus, I think for now I'm going to stick with "run away to fight another day" when it comes to the Butcher. @gogoblender, I'm trying HC for now, but we'll see how long it lasts. I was doing a Firewall Sorc. It was effective, but too passive for me. Just drop all the Firewalls and run around in the flames until everything dies. I'm playing Barb for now, but I'm planning on another Sorc.

I don't think I've ever had a respectable performance against the Butcher. If I was smart, I'd just run when that guy shows up. I was doing a Firewall Sorc. What build you running @gogoblender?

NIce find! Real life has intervened, and I went weeks without playing. I played a bit last weekend. I decided to park my Druid for a while (L50-ish on Act 3). I dabbled a bit, and ended up starting a fire Sorc.

Baldur's Gate? Wow, that's a blast from the past. I played BG2 on Xbox probably 15 years ago. It had a teaser after the credits (ala Marvel Studios) showing an Egyptian-themed cut-scene. I looked for the sequel for a long time before giving up. Turn-based? Is BG3 turn-based? BG2 was an A-RPG, like Sacred 2, D3 and D4.

I appreciate the offer, but no thank you. I knew from the beginning that D4 seasons wouldn't be a big thing for me. They'll require more time than I'm willing to devote, and will consist of rushing thru and grinding content. Neither rushing nor grinding are for me. I'm guessing I'll have the campaign done before season 2 starts (I already have two acts complete), so I can dabble in that season.

Character creation says you must complete the campaign to unlock season content. Que seraphim, seraphim. There's always season 2.

I believe I can create a season character, but I'd have to run the campaign first thing. I doubt I can even complete the campaign in a 3 month season.

I'm still 0-1 against the Butcher, but I'm eager for a rematch. With the time I have to play, I haven't unlocked seasons yet, so Season 1 is probably out for me.
