Mad midget reporting in.

Hiya all! Start to tremble in fear, Oakshield is here! :)

I'm not a long time lurker, but more looking for a nice community to enjoy the nice games we play. Some of you might know me from the Official Sacred Forum, others might know me from the "Clan-I-Ever-Won't-Mention" or both. Some of you might even remember me from the long Sacred: Underworld HC MP games I've played.

For those who never heard of me - and for those who did, but have forgotten who I am - I'm a 43 y/o male from The Netherlands who's been playing both Sacred Games as well as their expansions since their release. Currently I'm deep into Skyrim, as it gives imho the RPG-genre a nice refreshing pov. I'm thinking about signing up to the "Elder Scrolls On-line"-beta, hoping to find some of the gaming experience I'm looking for since S:UW went off-line.

I'm someone having his heart at his sleeves, meaning I could occasionally offending someone, although it wasn't my intention to do so. If I did, I'm always open to discuss the matter over PM, as I believe in honesty, honour and loyalty.
However, my due to my experiences with "the Clan-I-Ever-Won't-Mention", I'm not posting as much as I used to do to avoid similar situations as I had there, leading to my "unvoluntary leave".

I'm the kind of person that likes to help people when asked, being it in-game or at the forums, although I'm certain there are members having more knowledge of both games as I have.
I'm also the kind of person that likes to hang out with several other players in MP, being it in a party or solo. Hopefully we'll get a game giving that experience again.

If people got questions, fire away. If people have objections, speak now or remain silent forever.

Thorin :)

(Yes, that's my "autograph", so don't mix it up with the content of my posts).

Well, looking for a nice community, you really hit the right place, I'm sure. DM has been the most friendliest and forthcoming community I've personally found. And there has been quite a few of 'em. (Must be partly 'cause of Gogo's borderline legendary mediator skills. :D)

So, a warm welcome aboard, Thorin. :) Hope you'll enjoy your stay.

Been immersed into Skyrim too. I'm quite sure it'll be one of the best bang for the bucks- games for me. Has it's own quirks, but then again, so did Oblivion and not to mention Sacreds too.

Hey Thorin....long time no see...both in-game and SIF. Seems either you or me were always writing about DE's way back during S1

I never realized you had never become a member here :o

Glad you finally made it over and a big hello and welcome from me :D

Thx for the welcome. Seeing I know two of those who posted, I'm not entirely a stranger. I reckon' Gogo's still without pants. Makes me wonder if Gogo's ever going to be with pants. I guess we'll never know.

@ Knuckles, I'm afraid you've mistaken me for someone else. My favorite chars in S:UW were the seraphim and Glad. I've tried a DE once, but abandoned him at level 30 or so. I did manage to get a BM up to level 140ish before the servers went off line. And if not mistaken I had a "no-set" Glad at level 160 when the servers were taken off line.

What I'm wondering now is, was it you who did that epic Bellevue - Porto Vallum run 20 or so times because your char died each time when you reached the last bridge? Or was it someone else:)
It was - for me at least - the best moment of S:UW ever.

Thorin :)

Could have sworn it was you...hmmm mind is slipping, but I do remember you from in-game and SIF...and I don't think it was me...least I don't remember dying that way that many times

Hello Thorin.

Can't add much to what other members here have posted thusfar.

Save this...I will admit, from time to time I lurk over on the SIF, but have never become a member. Never want to either. The tone is much different in that Realm. For fellowship & Gaming, you have finally found the right breed of people. The members here are the real deal so to speak.

Now from time to time we stray away. On the forums and gaming. But eventually it seems we all grasp a new adventure together and come back online.

Personally I hope that next adventure is "Grim Dawn". Time will tell if my wish bears fruit.

Enough rambling!

I remain, Etherian

Here you will find a diverse bunch of individuals that make Darkmatters want to be your 'go-to' place for hangin' out and sharing whatever it is that you want to share. I've been a member of a lot of forums, but I've made this one my #1.

Welcome to your new home, Thorin.
