PurpleSpace 10
As I suspected, this looks like it could be fun in its own right, but for the fact that I see no loot being dropped (as has been already established somewhat by the devs)! The way they've made it just begs for loot to be constantly dropping and all I see are little bibs and bobs of experience orb looking things? I guess I'll find out whenever I actually get to check it out for myself! Link to comment

SX255 630
Now this is a good video about the game, as it shows actual continuous gameplay and menu system. I don’t speak German ether, but I know enough of the language to translate the following: Guy on the right is Patrick - the “creative producer” for Sacred 3. Release date – 1 of August. Sacred 3 is a Hack-and-Slash action arcade. A slip of the new intro cutscene cartoon is shown at 2:50 and another is at 3:05. Easy to join coop play – press start on second controller and select class. Simple departure from coop play at any time. At 8:10 some kind of fan gets turned on and off... or is that the soundtrack on low volume? You level up VERY slowly. At 12:30 they show the not the best looking skill level up system... Patrick said you can customize the PC into an Avenger or an X-men... At 14:05 you can see what boss soles you can... Wait! BattleMage? Elf? Daemon, Dryad, Gladiator... Grr Besessener mensch and Drache are new. Kratos is a Gladiator. Sigh... Number of ingame dwarves, TGs, vampires – still 0 So who among us will be buying the game to give it a full fan review? 1 Link to comment

Well I've pre-ordered it, that was before I read the posts in the Steam forums.... Link to comment
Virian 27
@SX255 Still thinking about pre-ordering Sacred 3 but I will be away from home for first 2 weeks of August so my review/thoughts would be little bit late. This isn't the game what Sacred used to be but seems enough for me to buy. Link to comment
Popular Post Silver_fox 397
This video just confirms everything that was said in other previews, only in a bit more positive advertising-like mood (not surprising, considering that the staff member is interviewed). I can only correct a bit of what SX said: At 14.05 you are shown not the boss list, but the list of all Weapon Spirits that would be available in game to select as a passive buff for your team (WaffenGeister literally translates as Weapon Spirit or Weapon Ghost). Does not look like a long one... And the drops from monsters are gold, HP and Mana orbs. To tell you the truth, I'm only more disappointed in the game after this video. Now they don't even try to pretend that it's an "Action-RPG with emphasis on Action" like they said before, they openly call it an arcade action. And what they have of those "interchangeable hit types" doesn't look RPG-like to me - just a little RPG element to spice up a game of another genre. I've seen bigger skill trees in games which nobody tried to call RPGs, especially around year 2002-2004 when adding "RPG elements" was a popular idea. That's not to mention how they only discuss console-like coop, entered by pressing controller buttons. I'm not sure that they test it on console and not on PC, so maybe having a controller for the second player is a must, unless you play on the Internet. And let's hope that at least the first player can play comfortably using mouse and keyboard. That brings to mind another preview article about Sacred 3 (in German, found here: http://www.computerbild.de/artikel/cbs-News-PC-Sacred-3-Vorschau-7680552.html). It looks like coop-play in S3 is more like "Coop Mode" in Sacred 2 - the first player is main one who advances through campaign, and the second one drops in and out to assist but not to progress together. And looks like their "Victory is Ours. Glory is Mine" motto in practice refers to the fact that the first player is a high level hero, and the second one is a (oftenly low level) sidekick, who works as distraction for enemies, keeps them locked and occupied, while the big guy takes them down. Not to mention that the maximum party size is 4 players, and it's not clear whether or not they can be of the same class (all previews and screenshots only feature mixed-class parties). SX255 630
Thank you for that correction SilveFox Well, he did get the BattleMage at 10:15 from beating the first boss, so excuse me for making the incorrect assumption that the boss was a corrupted BattleMage. I must agree the game looks like it will ruin a PC mouse. And buying a new good gaming/work mouse replacement is not easy... or cheap. I do have a double analog stick USB controller for just such a situation, but it’s not an official Xbox or PS, so I run the risk of the game might not register it. At least it has the option to play with up to 4 players in the same room. There are lots of Multiplayer games that have coop, but don’t support split screen or multiple players on one console (DeadSpace 3). Link to comment
Popular Post podgie_bear 184
Console Beat'em'Up. No RPG, no loot, no need to think. Said so! 3 Link to comment
