  1. By dupewords I mean using duped runes to make runewords, not just duping runewords. There are also a few misconceptions about legitness. If you trade for high runes you will get dupes. No legit player can have Enigma + Cta + Last Wish + Infinity +whatever
  2. I can understand how you feel. I'm also somewhat distant from the game, though it's because of an almost complete lack of challenge at this point. Maye you'll return later
  3. Nope I can do anything I want in modded single player, there is no reason to do that on closed as well. Plus, my closed toons are filled with gear already, where would I put all these sets? No, D2 has dupewords. These are the ones that make set items useless, which are actually rather godly. However, legit people refuse to use dupes so set items are still among the best
  4. They did change the settings of survival bonus a bit. However I can't see any impact on my gameplay (except that my SB is lower than it was). Monsters are 11 levels higher than me as they're pretty much supposed to be.
  5. A dev said that they are granted for the entire account, not for each separate character.
  6. Two new cool shields in 2.40, and possibly more
  7. It seems they just messed up the balance.txt, the fix should be easy and fast
  8. If you need higher level ones, I have level 28 & 68 Dwendorik's Vanquisher, lvl89 Lorga's Sword and lvl92 Uruk's Destiny. Seeing as noone was needing them I wasn't collecting them a lot. A pity since they look really cool, except for their animations.
  9. You're doing ok Bargaining effects depend on your character level, the higher you are the higher must be Bargaining to unlock the same number and quality of rare items in shops. Check out the Enhanced Perception and Magic Find - Item Drops for some info on EP. There are other posts on it around as well.
  10. Congratz Get her out of that pink dress, and into a black one with spikes instead
  11. Monsters scale with your level, so you won't have many difficulties facing them as long as you don't go to areas with high minimum cap. Silver desert has a minimum level 18ish monsters, while elf lands start from 1-5.
  12. Gratz Don't listen to Cthulu no matter what he says
  13. The damage calculation is complicated. Not everything is just increased by 10%, that depends on the formulas. Check out Item Modifiers, there's info about Deathblow and much more
  14. Hehe that worked Not as convenient as a big pm folder, but it'll do.
  15. I find that my inbox is always almost full I try to keep certain messages to reference later, since they can be really useful. The limit is forcing me to delete them. I don't think they cosume that much space. Most messages hold less than 1KB...
  16. Here are some decent weapons of the same level range as the above Boneslicers, so we can compare more of them. Without unlockable bonuses: And some that benefit benefit from Sword Weapons (screenshots with skill level 75): Of course the Ice Flash, quetzal's and Excalibran are ridiculously hard to find
  17. 6 gold sockets can be a double edged knife It's much easier to modify Boneslicers since you don't lose valuable socketables, while I never felt like resocketing Officer's sabers after socketing my best jewelry in them. They don't really beat them, they just don't lose either. Same goes for other weapons that require weapon lores.
  18. With Ascaron, you can be sure they won't give you a 96kb patch
  19. The point is that even with a setup like this, you don't realy gain a lot compared to the Boneslicers At those levels +all skills are starting to offer rather small bonuses. I can definitely survive without them, few things can actually hurt me At this point I focus mostly on offense. Another thing is that Boneslicers provide a decent weapon choice to people that didn't take Bargaining. People can invest in Sword Weapons instead of Bargaining, and still be able to fully use some of the nastiest swords in the game
  20. Which Combat Arts do you like using? You could try the Sariel: Invincible Flying Tankmage Thong Princess!, A do-it-all Seraphim build, or maybe an Archangel's wrath build. Or BFG
  21. People still consider that Sword/Hafted skills while Dual Wielding are not worth the skill slot. Here are some arguments in favor of Dual Wielding weapons that can really make use of both skills. You can just skip to the end of the post to see my point How does a Boneslicer compare to other weapons? Technically, other weapons can usually be slightly better, damage and socket-wise. The illusionary drawback of a Boneslicer is its low item level. You can find and use weapons of much higher level early on. With my level 75 seraphim, I received level 78 Boneslicers, while I can already use weapons with level 95. Here is an example, the popular Officer's saber along with the Boneslicer: The Officer's Saber seems to outdamage and outsocket the Boneslicer. This is not entirely correct. Sure, you can socket +all skills amulets in Officers (+4-5 each at these character levels) to equal the Boneslicer's skill bonus. That leaves you with just one slot for other bonuses. Not that impressive, especially since Boneslicer has built-in modifiable bonuses that increase without the need to socket any skill bonuses. Here is how the bonus looks like with two Boneslicers equipped (+18 offensive skills): That's level 86 Sword Weapons, with just one hard point. 17.6% chance to disregard armor, 35.2% chance to halve regeneration time (they seem to stack with diminishing returns), +18 to Tactics Lore and Dual Wield. None too shabby This allows the use of significantly higher Combat Arts and Buffs. The point In practice, two Boneslicers are hardly inferior to other weapons. Even unsocketed, the above Boneslicer slot does more damage than my current main weapon slot (which is more than enough already). Maybe it's not the "best" option available, but it's definitely cooler than a lot of them. A build can be made around Boneslicers, with even higher potential. The Undead Legion Quest can be completed in 25-60 minutes, providing a steady supply of Boneslicers. Other weapons need to be found, which doesn't always happen when you need it. This is why Sword Weapons is not a waste when used with Dual Wield. Other weapons with modifiable bonuses can be just as nice. Decent bonuses for not too high investment, this does open a lot of possibilities Plus, many weapons with unlockable bonuses look much cooler than the usual power-gaming ones. I'm sick of seeing sabers :lmao: I hope I can find two Quetzal's First Strike, but what are the odds?
  22. Hehe Personally I prefer twin Desert Sabers, though two Officers have the potential to be better. I prefer socketing +skills stuff in armor, so that the weapons can be used with expendable stuff like +experience, mf or damage as well as opponent's chance to evade. In the pic I wear two Desert Sabers (you can see from the hilt), with about 30% experience and an assortment of useful bonuses
  23. I think I have some Testa'a Annihilators, as well as other energy weapons. Finally someone made a topic like this
