  1. Well, I'm not a Cyber "Cop" per se, as cops are law enforcement (investigate crime, arrest people), while I am a prosecutor (file charges, prosecute cases in court). So if I were to see people trading child pornography via oGame, I would not investigate but would instead notify the FBI, Postal Inspection Service, or Immigration and Customs Enforcement. They would investigate and once they had sufficient evidence that a crime was being committed, they would notify me. I would open a case and help them to get subpoenas, search warrants, pen registers/trap-and-trace devices (phone taps), etc. Once we had sufficient evidence to bring a case against someone, we would seek to get an indictment from a grand jury, or a criminal complaint from a magistrate judge. These would be accompanied by either an arrest warrant or a summons to appear in court. - Ike

  3. I am displeased. Of course, given the history of STAR, TRuST, Purple A., Purple D, I am sure it will be unbanned shortly. Otherwise, I may have to crash your fleet into Download, GoGo. You think I'm kidding, don't you? - Ike
  4. Sensor Phalanx changed a bit with a recent update (I forget which). You can see any ships headed toward the planet on which you are doing the phalanx. Your ships deploying to that planet; your ships transporting to that planet or returning from transporting to another planet; your ships returning from an attack; your ships returning from harvesting a DF; your ships returning from a colonization mission; your ships returning from an espionage mission; another player's fleet attacking the planet; another player's fleet espionaging the planet; and another player's fleet transporting to the planet. The report shows time remaining until arrival, number and types of ships, type of mission, what planet/moon/DF the fleet is coming from and at which planet the fleet is arriving. A FireFox add-on converts the "time remaining until arrival" to system time. His range is the square of his phalanx sensor level minus 1, so a level 7 phalanx can see 48 SS in each direction. Assume that he has at least a 6 and probably a 7 or 8. You can probe his moon to find out. You can assume that if he has phalanxed you in the past and seen yummy res/fleets, he will phalanx you regularly to see what else is on the way. I certainly do that when I hit someone. If they'll do something I can hit once, they'll probably do it again . . .
  5. Whoa . . . :backs away: . . . I did not know I was messing with Royalty. Sorry your majesty, just go right ahead . . .
  6. Ooops, sorry Locutus . . . and I still have another RIP in production. - Ike
  7. Sensei got a bit active and rebuilt some defenses after my last crushing of him. In addition, he moved his fleet to avoid my RIPs and later my BCs, so after noticing that he was again getting a bit inactive I felt it necessary to HoF his fleet and grab some res. 8. A little hit for GoGo. I know he would have done it himself if not for me using his account. I saw this guy near the Main yesterday morning, ~36 hours ago. Unfortunately, the RIPs were out on an extended jaunt and did not return until 12 hours ago. So I spent the time building Missile Silo 1-4 and Shipyard 10, and some IPMs. As soon as the building were done and res was on the way, I started the IPM rain and when the RIPs returned, I sent them on their merry way with a Dessie escort. Without the dessies, some RIPs get R.I.Pped. With the plasmas and some gauss gone, the profits were quite nice. I got a little better-than-average result. Recs 2 seconds behind, should have been one, but I'm not going to complain as long as I got the DF. In all, 100 IPMs. He already had a moon, so no biggie there. Perhaps I'll collect the rest of that res when the RIPs return. _____________________________________ Attacker Ike _____________________________________ Destroyer 3104 (Lost = 172) Death Star 75 (Lost = 0) _____________________________________ _____________________________________ Defender tomato _____________________________________ Large Cargo 581 Battleship 23 Recycler 400 Espionage Probe 205 Solar Satelite 110 Death Star 15 Rocket Launcher 10,735 Light Laser 10,117 Heavy Laser 115 Gauss Cannon 229 Ion Cannon 41 _____________________________________ The attacker has won the battle! Well, check out the Fleet and Defenses Firepower Analysis thread. You can couple this with info from the shipyard and defense screens ingame. - Ike
  11. I can only assume, as GoGo did, that it was named in my honor. Sweet of them, really. Too many games at present to add more to my list though.
  12. Hmmmm, the Elite Wand would be appreciated. I f I get some time when I get home I'll see what kinds of stuff I am saving currently that may be of use to people. - Ike
  13. I have been pounding Sensei for about a year-and-a-half now. Maybe that makes me a bad person? Nah, it is all those other things that make me a bad person. In order to keep production up, I've been hitting Sensei's colonies in G6-8. After my RIPs returned from their aborted strike on Tsukasa I decided to send them off to greet Sensei's home planet and its lovely defenses and fleet. I knew I could not break through the defenses, but the DF would more than make up for that. Unfortunately, due to amazingly poor planning on my part, I was 75K short on res after launching the dessies to hit Tsukasa. If I had sent the recs 2 minutes later . . . c'est le vie. So I noticed Gintukas was online and I sent out an emergency call for deuterium. Fortunately, Gint was able to get me the needed fuel with thirty miutes to spare and I sent the recs . . . a little faster than initially anticipated, but that just means I get the res back faster. _____________________________________ Attacker Ike _____________________________________ Death Star 75 (Lost = 0) _____________________________________ _____________________________________ Defender Sensei _____________________________________ Large Cargo 100 (Lost = 83) Light Fighter 1000 (Lost = 882) Heavy Fighter 1167 (Lost = 1002) Cruiser 495 (Lost = 425) Battleship 276 (Lost = 251) Espionage Probe 2 (Lost = 1) Solar Satelite 400 (Lost = 343) Battle Cruiser 8 (Lost = 8) Rocket Launcher 12,769 (Lost = 11,210) Light Laser 11,544 (Lost = 10,088) Heavy Laser 8861 (Lost = 7739) Gauss Cannon 867 (Lost = 755) Ion Cannon 3557 (Lost = 374) Plasma Turret 122 (Lost = 104) Small Shield 1 (Lost = 1) Large Shield 1 (Lost = 1) _____________________________________ The battle ended in a draw. 14. I've said it before, I'll likely say it again. I don't understand people. I saw this fleet on the heavily defended planet a day-and-a-half ago just after he went (I)nactive . . . you know, like he has not logged in for a week. So I simmed it, and figured with 11.3 MM metal, 3.5 MM crystal, and 1.5 MM deuterium on the planet, it was worth hitting with RIPs and dessies. Deuterium cost ~350K. So I get the deuterium there, wait for the RIPs to return from scavaging, and launch @ 80% speed. Two hours later . . . he comes online. So I think I am totally hosed. He knows he is vulnerable and that I know he is there, he'll protect his fleet. I probe and sure enough, it is gone. I check later . . . and there the fleet is, on his defenseless moon. So I tell Kiki about it, as I have no deuterium in G3 and my RIPs are out hunting turtles. Kiki can't make the hit due to his own deuterium issues, so I ship 1 MM deuterium to G3 from G7. I launch recs nice and slow and wait, wait, wait for the deuterium to show up. He comes online an hour or two before the reset, sends some cargos. Twenty-five minutes before the reset I probe, yup the fleet is still there. Two minutes after the reset, the deuterium arrives, I launch at 90% and about an hour-and-a-half later . . . _____________________________________ Attacker Ike _____________________________________ Destroyer 3101 (Lost = 26) _____________________________________ _____________________________________ Defender Tsukasa _____________________________________ Small Cargo 53 Large Cargo 81 Light Fighter 93 Heavy Fighter 41 Recycler 7 Espionage Probe 227 Death Star 4 Battle Cruiser 10 _____________________________________ The attacker has won the battle! 15. Omaha (Nebraska) Oooooo! [I had another X in mind jik.]
  16. GoGo, go out and buy some lottery tickets for me. I had a 21" CRT, about 8-10 years ago, and it weighed 96 lbs. Don't get a hernia! - Ike
  17. Awesome!! Being deathly afraid of heights, I'm not sure I could make it . . . especially with 20 lbs of camera equipment. But I'd probably try it out anyway. - Ike
  18. Hey Darksyren, Welcome to FDM. Thanks again for the rec support against nemoj, even though he moved. Lots to see here . . . including cool smilies, like the special which is loveable in everyway a computer-generated sheep can be. - Ike
  19. But at least I didn't get HoFfed.
  20. That is awesome news Coops! I just went to the Pillory a little while ago and did not see anything. Too bad you are in (n)00b protection, I was totally going to farm you. Hmmmm, since you are now ranked below me, can I send lots of resources your way and not have it be pushing:) - Ike
