  1. I agree with Woody's assessment - Kanka's relics is a wicked set that has everything a SW character needs and is way too overpowered. I personally, don't see any harm in having an overpowered set for each character, as it's all about having fun
  2. Let's not forget that the dryad already has a LL% set - Detheya's. Combining that set with a good double-hit chance blowpipe can provide even better options than simply stacking LL% over and over. No disrespect, but I kinda wonder why people want to make more and more sets for chars that are already overpowered... Even though having more sets is a lot of fun, there are characters that really need good sets - like a weapon set for a Coup-build HE, weapon set for a Dragon-build DM (because most of the builds I see online are casters), armor set for the Inquisitor, because almost all his set items are downright awful and almost all of his sets have poor boni (who wants to scare the enemy into fleeing when you are close combat oriented:)), and so on
  3. Oh FECAL MATTER!... So sorry Elwin... Plat guardians are indeed dangerous
  4. Sheesh, every single one of my good clanmates is on the open net Well, I'm on closed for now... Pushing up levels with the leecher girl.
  5. You make a strong point here, Silver_fox. I agree that the hierarchy should be maintained and kept in mind when creating something. I personally like the set as it is and would certainly use it if I find all the pieces - but still, the more useful a set is, the better chances that people will start looking for it and using it - and this is why I proposed to add some XP to it, because it's a very sought after modifier after a certain point. There is no need to create a set for collectors' value in the personal/shared stash
  6. I love the helmet. This is exactly what any inquisitor needs - be it offensive, caster or hybrid Great idea guys, and great work making the textures for the helmet.
  7. Yes. It's a subtle buff to the sword, but still a good one. It will not make it much more powerful, but it will make it much more useful both in short and long run.
  8. Well, why not something simple as a generous amount of +% XP per kill? It will not be groundbreaking at all and it will serve as additional value in this set. +% XP per kill is very sought after especially at high levels, because it shortens the leveling time, which will make the set useful even on level 150+.
  9. I like this I would definitely give it a go if I were to play a DW Seraphim. I would still buff up the 2 swords a little bit, or at least the first one, Twinkle. Since I like to compare everything with Boneslicer/Kaldur/Officer's, I think those swords are a little underclassed. + All skills is ok, but you can get twice as much by socketing 2 items into an officer's saber, and if you shop well, you'll get 2/3 of + All Skills/Crit/Cannot evade on the same socketable, leaving you with a better Officer's Saber than the set item. The rest is great in my opinion. Not very overpowered, but still quite useful AND worth using Good work, Dragon Brother!
  10. "Virtues of the Seraphim" set? I haven't seen it, and wiki doesn't have any images on it. Maybe I should really stop playing the good old vanilla closed net and switch to CM patch and start playing open net as many d.a.r.k members do... This way I can also check out the new stuff. Still, I think it will be a good idea to implement sets that will suit all kinds of gameplay. If every character has LL% set, that's ok in my opinion, because each player will be able to experience that power with any build/hero. Quite honestly, I think that the more sets there are that cover various aspects of the game, the better, because it keeps the game spirit alive and provides better replayability. This will also make it harder to find the necessary set pieces, and will keep the player hooked for a long time. EDIT: Barris... it would be fair in my opinion to play with LL% + 1 mod + 2 sockets or LL% + 2 mods + 1 socket. This is how shurikens spawn in general.
  11. Still, the game is all about having fun The CM patch adds a lot of fun stuff, and I do not see why not add a little bit more. I, personally, think that there are characters that have been granted great items and such that have been given poor sets. For example, the Inquisitor. Granted, he's one of the fastest to achieve physical damage immunity, but is sets are poor. Astute set's boni are poor. Ilgard's set boni are also relatively poor. Saraki's set is not better off. Kuan's set has good boni and sockets, but has no item mods. Balefulness set is stupid. Determined justice is good, but is nowhere near the usefulness of the Celestial/Detheya's/Combat Modules/a number of other chars' sets. Catharsis set has a lot of sockets and limited usefulness. Dreadbringer is no better off as well. For that reason I think he (at least the inquisitor) deserves something decent. Dryad/Seraphim/TG have leech, Dragon Mage can make a kitbash of sets that give + all skils, SW has leeching in CM patch and good vanilla sets, and the HE, as a pure caster, has great sets for reflect and aspect support. Anyone who wants a vanilla Ice and Blood game has the closed net/LAN servers or the ability to choose which set to use or not.
  12. I didn't notice Dreeft's question here... Well, if I were to run a star + shield, I would use my utility bosshunter build: http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=14752 - this is the guide to my ranged bosskiller. Star + Shield is even more overpowered than dual kaldurs because you get even more defensive skills and the guardians can barely dent her health. On to the leecher seraphim. Got her to 83 today with 1 kaldur's + 1 felde sword. She's leeching for 3.5% per hit, which is pretty damn impressive at this stage. In a few levels I will be able to use my spawned level 111 felde's sword, which will improve the leeching a little bit more. With 1 vit per level and alternating between 2 vit or 1 vit/1 will after level 50, and only 2 shield capacity boosters, she has 6.6k HP, 13.5k shield, and all 3 buffs. I am very pleased with the girl - she kills quickly even with +150% xp per kill. Only a few levels more and I'll improve that % by at least 50%. Can't wait to get there!
  13. In that case, I wholeheartedly agree with you analysis Maybe we should consider giving LL% set to all chars in the CM patch. If this gets implemented, the dryad will get a second source of LL while chars like the Inquisitor, who's mostly played melee or hybrid melee/caster, gets nothing of the sort... Poor evil doer
  14. Well, there is no harm in trying that I personally am a bit uneasy playing a build that requires me to take damage, because I only play hardcore, and taking a lot of damage may easily have your toon end up on the wrong side of Mother Ancaria's surface... However, your analysis is quite good. This may actually work, if you manage to keep this guy alive, because your entire writeup is based on actually taking quite a lot of damage in order to boost the effectiveness of your combat arts and their damage.
  15. There is another thing we should consider here, Slevin. Your logic and analysis is impeccable, but if we make a new set that is actually poorer than what we have, who will spare any time in finding it? CM patch works with SP LAN and open net, which is very much "a free kingdom". Anyone can fool around with the balance file and get himself as many useful items as he wants... However, if the set is good, people will be very much interested in searching for it.
  16. OK, lets start one by one -> exploit mod for reverse polarity: Does it work exactly as damage mitigation? Yes, it reduces the damage you take as long as there are companions nearby. Nothing can mitigate life leech - the exploit mod won't help you either Keep in mind that lore without focus means you'll be using low-level combat arts. Using focus without lore means you'll be using high-level combat arts inflicting less damage than usual. I would certainly keep both AS lore and AS focus in this build, as the Astute aspect is the Inquisitor caster's best friend and main source of damage. The build you're proposing certainly deviates from the basic caster status and looks much more like a pure offensive build with minimal caster support. Adding Concentration + GI focus to this build and using the PC buff automatically turns this inquisitor into a Dual-Wield melee one with 3-aspect buff support. In the end, it will be entirely up to you to decide what do you want from him, but in general, spreading yourself between many aspects and different play styles is not a good idea because in the end, you'll have to choose a main play style and stick with it.
  17. I totally agree with Woody. It's all about making a nice all-round set - not something overpowered that will make the playthrough a snap. Life Leech % is good, because blowpipes are really cool, but in order to make a decent leecher dryad you either need to go for dual kaldurs or get a shuriken, because a 2-h sword is way too slow. The negative side is that this can force the game into becoming even more sandbox-like, but this is what I actually like about it
  18. Boss hunter set for dryad sounds really nice. If it gets implemented, it may just make me start a dryad (finally). She's the only char I haven't played, really
  19. There were quite things strongly drew me to Sacred 2. 1. The ability to "Do it yourself" - unlike other rpg's and mmorpg's, in Sacred 2 you can do everything by yourself provided you invest enough time in it and have fun in the meantime. 2. The sandbox-type of play - in Sacred 2, you're not bound to do a campaign or something like this. If you feel like exploring, you can do so. If you feel like boss hunting, load your char for bear and do so. It's a free world for everyone to do whatever they wish. 3. The ability to make the equipment your own way - shopping and smithing, wheeling and dealing is all permitted in Ancaria, provided you have the means for it. This allows you to turn ordinary set and unique items into wicked weapons of mass destruction just by socketing specific stuff into them. 4. The flexible characters - many games have their characters serve a specific role: Tank, Ranged, Caster - and you're forced to accept that play style in advance. Here, you can make pretty much any character into anything you wish.
  20. Well, for starters, you may want to note how you usually name your servers, what your toon's name is, what kind of server do you play in (HC/SC) and such :)I'm sure someone would be willing to tag along.
  21. I'm also online, hunting some guardians. Can't do much more at this stage really... Cousin's laptop doesn't really like Sacred 2 and crashes way too often.
  22. I vote for the Inquisitor as the best lightsaber fighter. He's just so Starwarsy The only problem is that he won't fit the general image of a Jedi though... More of a Sith master As for Jedi... Maybe the Dragonmage? He has a few mind spells as well, along with the Seraphim.
  23. Oh, my bad I guess I got way too excited about the prospect of having Star Trek actors here
  24. Damn - Michael Dorn and Brent Spiner as the Temple Guardian and the Inquisitor? I would never have guessed.
