  1. The art of propelled levitation Sacred 2 - The game of fun glitches and flukes. Ah, propelled levitation - the temple guardians in-game jump substitute with a fair distance. I love using it when exploring. Still, the game doesn’t allow much jump control, which leads to some “moments”. Case in point: you have a small crack, ravine or river to cross and walking around would take to long. So you get to the edge as close as possible, power up the boosters for a jump, lift of... and instantly hit the invisible wall because the game thought you wanted to just fly as far as possible in that direction. And then you have to wait 20-30 seconds on recharge to try again. Sometimes walking around is easier and faster.
  2. Due to popular demand (one administrator), I’m posting some fan art/comics I did about Sacred 2 (with a small original description tale to each picture). Originally I wanted to do all the art at once, and then upload it, but I’m lazy and drawing is hard. So here is half of what I did by now. I sorted it out to be in chronological order, so art quality will vary. Don’t hold your breath for more – at best it will only be added in months. Shopping After playing for some time I noticed that temple guardian cap icons in inventory have the head as part of the icon. No other character class has this. Since temple guardians are cyborgs, they could have removable heads, but this razes so many follow up questions ether way. Also the random generated shops have way to many temple guardian specific stuff when there are none of them around. I know its almost completely random generated, but come on. Diablo 2 didn’t sell druid pelts for a reason.
  3. Ice and blood extra. Flaming horse is still a horse, but flaming.
  4. Don’t be. I don’t draw that well and those are just some of the works I drew a year ago. Done in PowerPoint, took several days, will make a separate thread for them. Also, can you guys stop quoting the entire long post? You can edit those to be shorter, you know.
  5. Both I just checked my good and evil TGs – both mention the gang as Du'rach Osin in the logbook. But when I went and did that quest again with my evil TG, the gang was Alibaba and Alibaba's Gang Members (I have PC community patch 140) So that looks like something the community patch should fix. FYI – The forum doesn’t like links with { ‘ } in them, so your Du'rach Osin link is broken. You might want to look into this.
  6. No big difference? How long have you been playing it? Oh, I remember 2.12 (and if really needed I can revert to it) I lost 2 good items while trying to forge, because when you close the forging window and they are still in it, they drop to the ground and you may not notice this and move on. Half the supporting NPC escorts were suicidal attackers. At one point an eleven writer in the desert (the one looking for her dog) went fisticuffs with every bug in sight (and she can be killed). Incidentally, when traveling/loading between dungeon and main world, escorts can disappear (or more correctly never appear). That's how I finished that find the dog quest, as the escort NPC do reappear on game reloading. The “Bandits” on the bridge was several quests; one would become an ugly X in the logbook. The “Back to the front” quest could be easily failed by talking to a nearby NPC too early. The book on Testa (hey, what ever happened to Chuck Testa meme) describes him having a dog head when all the statues are clearly human (or elf). There were a lot less portals in the game, but most maps are modern. I tried 3 times to find nonexistent Western Tyr Lysia portal. It was a kobold massacre of rage. The map had completed quest green circles on by default, so you had to disable them every time you started the game or else the map became a mess. The Hypoca… Hipo… Seahorse in German is broken as hell, as all it did was bob up and down, without playing the effects at all. It was a tad creepy. Worst of all, and my most hated bug, there was a very big chance that once the “you are heavily damaged” hartbeating started, it would never stop until you reload the character. That was soooo annoying. You had to stop, log out, log in and then a red scorpion spawned right in your face. And as you suffer through all this, you know that there is Ice & Blood expansion out there, and that you are missing out on a lot in the game. I only got through act 2 before drooping it and getting the full experience + PC community patch.
  7. Only if you need a picture with alpha/transparency and 24-bit visual quality. PNG beats JPG and GIF in that. God help you if you use the original uncompresed BMP or TGA.
  8. Post it here, as it is technicaly the continuetion of the topic. If needed, you can ask the admins to edit it out later. We all want to hear this.
  9. Why do people ask for help with a clearly pirated game on a fan forum, dedicated to supporting the developers? You get what you get. Think of it as a demo. Now buy the original
  10. You got to love Ascaron standardization – took me only 10 minutes to figure it out. To remove the default torso like all other armors, you need to modify the “itemtype.txt” located in normal “\scripts\shared” folder. First make a backup copy of the file – if you mess it up, game over. Open the itemtype.txt in text editor (XP Notepad will not cut it, so try WordPad) Search for “n_sera-iron-torso”. Just a few line above it should be flags = "FLAG_EQUIPCUT + FLAG_BLACKBACK + FLAG_HASPREVIEWIMAGE", Now go back to the beginning of the file and search for “c_sera-angeldust-torso”. The flags for it will not have “FLAG_EQUIPCUT”. What you need to do is add the “FLAG_EQUIPCUT + ” to all items that use “c_sera-angeldust-torso.GR2”. There should be about 6 of these in the file (don’t know why). This fixed the crazy clipping on my end.
  11. You can also try the default torso mesh (in ...seraphim/default folder); it doesn’t seam to clip at all (or clips perfectly). Alternatively you can use the most revealing torsos and textures to minimize the clipping effect.
  12. Now, if I’m not mistaken, you replaced the torso mesh of Angel Dust Set with the one in Iron Set. And now there is crazy clipping all along the body when you wear it. Well, this is because you are replacing the only seraphim bra mesh – all others are T-shirt like, and they actually disable/hide the default torso. Angel Dust bra does not, and now you have 2 torsos instead of one. The simplest way around this is to instead use Ancient Set torso, which still clips at the belt, but not as crazy. Of course, you can try tracing down the script for the default torso removal. P.S. Man, did it take long for this thing to drop.
  13. Thank you. Sadly Nexus Buddy crashes on me after I set the "assets" folder to a blank one. Checked/Repaired my framework 4, but it still crashes. Tried older version of program - crashes. Changed registry entry to other folder - crashes. Now I'm looking for my Civilization V to see if it has that "assets" thing. Also will try to run it on my other PC latter. It looks promising. At least it has a working Granny Viewer in it.
  14. More of a flaw in the map design. Found it completely by chance – an enemy dryad spawned underwater, so I went to investigated with propelled levitation… Turned out there is a branch out there the game thinks is passable terrain. And there is another branch pointing at it on the beach (see pic above). Just south of Eloeth-sun, before reaching the pyramid. Stand on the edge of the beach where the branch is and try jumping as far as possible into the sea where the branch is pointing. Pause the game at the right moment and you can get some interesting pictures. A good consolation find to the diving bell quest. Horses can leap to it as well.
  15. Scared 1 and 2 use Granny 3D meshes for their 3D models (made by RAD Game Tools). One of the best ways to explore all the meshes and their animations in this format is to use Granny Viewer, a small simple demonstration program. Granny Viewer has gone through many builds, but overall staid conveniently small and the same. However, when I tried tracking it down through the wiki and forums, all I keep finding is the old link on the official RAD website, which no longer works, because it redirects to the sites homepage. Tracking Granny Viewer down through Google leads to secondhand untrustworthy websites. Not saying you can't find it in those piles of garbageware. So what is the situation on Granny Viewer? Are we allowed to upload it directly to the wiki and forum? It is only about 2MB big.
  16. Well, lets see if this gets reported as illegal comment again... For starters you will need Granny Viewer 3D. With it you can view GR2 game model files fast and easy. There should be a link around the forum somewhere. All object models in the game are located in the graphics05 file. It’s well organized, so if you know what model you are looking for, you should be able to eventually find it. Use sacred wiki item set demonstrations to isolate what you want and what it will replace. Once you know what armor you want and which armor to replace it with (test it out in Granny Viewer 3D), you will need to create folders exactly like in graphics05 leading to the item you want to change. For example: models/heroes/seraphim/sets/angeldust/ Copy your new armor GR2 file into the last folder and rename it exactly as the item you are replacing. Run game - see what happens when you equip the armor (inventory icon will not change). It may be a mess on the ground, may be not, but it should be different. Successful example:
  17. If there is anything I expect to measure Sacred 3, it’s how close the developers come to making this Mad Max 3 reference: This can be a final boss to an area. Of course you will have to modify the TG to be something else, like a dog-shaped all purpose walking machine, but you can’t tell me it’s not awesome. And as a lead-in regular enemy you can put regular dwarfs on bears, because what else would they ride? Add a nice dense pine forest, a bit of snow, and you have a solid PC vs Dwarves story.
  18. Yeah, TG is a ton of fun to play once you know how the game mechanics work. For an extra level of fun you can makeup your own backstory on what was his original purpose as a TG – the game will only support you on it.
  19. Plotting new features to your game is all nice and good, but it can become distracting and destructive. I know this from personal experience. For now concentrate on making a demo with just 1 character in 1 level. Use basic graphics like they were made in MS Paint. No sound and fancy start menus – just 1 char running around a level.
  20. More power to you. That’s a titanic level of work. Will you be making it to be fully 3d like Sacred 2 or more 2d like Sacred 1?
  21. Might as well throw in my two cents… There’s a small secret spot on Dryad Island perfect for fishing and scuba diving. Just south of Eloeth-sun. It’s marked by a dry branch on the beach. Be careful when crossing bridges in Ankaria – you might fall though and make the tigers very happy.
  22. Well, the chopped forest line could be considered also a forest fire prevention line. And it’s not like the area now becomes a dead zone. Tall grass will come back, then the bushes, and eventually everything else.
  23. Apparently it’s a new “remake”… The original movie is Orcs! made in 2011. Sadly, the remake lacks mustaches. But it has an APC and CGI dragon. IMDB to the original: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1524134/reference Here is a short review of the original: http://blip.tv/diamanda-hagan-lecher-bitch/nanoview-orks-6637046
  24. By the way, that’s page 20 of the PC manual of may 2009 release (at lest that’s what Last Modified data says for the PDF). For those not in the know, this picture is a common failure when making manuals. Nowadays the manuals are often written during the active development of software so they are both ready for release at the same time. When new features are still being added to the product the already made manual needs updating. This often means redoing all out of date pictures. Nobody is going to make a new manual from scratch, so they continue the old one. With a very busy stressful last minute schedule it’s completely possible to miss something this obvious. We are talking about a manual 64 pages long with a picture of a rarely looked at window. We have the first 3 options in the game. I have no idea what “Revive speshal mount” is supposed to be. Give CPR to your Draconicon? And I’m not comfortable with the “Kill current mount” option, which probably just deletes it from the memory slot.
  25. Now you have to seriously consider: you want to be outside in the apocalypse or inside with Metallica?
