  1. I searched for 'sacred' and darkmatters didn't come come up on the first page. how can we get that to be? would be good to have us on the first pages (I stopped looking at 5) on google with the buzz that will hopefully be generated when sacred 2 hits the shelves. the wiki does show up on a search for 'sacred 2' though. the search for 'sacred rpg' doesn't show us on first page either.
  2. usb been fine for me, if it comes with a holder device or similar with a cable on it, velcro it in a position so that you get best reception. play around, it will pay dividends. on to my rant- I got wireless at work and the house. I have had good luck with linksys. belkin hub proved impossible to get to work with wireless print server. went with n at home for more range, router is linksys. works fine with one desktop with usb n (positioned on top of monitor), my laptop g and wife laptop g. I still get some problems in one bedroom downstair, I got linksys n card with the big fancy external antenna ($90us), still drops out every now and then. I don't think it likes transmitting through granite countertops, but I am limited to location of router due to phone jacks. at work I have a linksys business series router, very fancy with big antennas and fancy stuff like multiple ssids and extra security over home models. problem there is so many wireless in area, about 4, that performance is poor and I just cable in with 50ft rj45 cable I have. all in all I haven't seen much improvement or distance in regards to switching to n at home. old old linksys that died had addon antennas, worked great until dying.

    Vista firewall?

I would stay away from zonealarm. I had free version, got pay version for anti-virus. couldn't get the thing to uninstall, tried an trial period to higher version, still won't install. impossible to kill services that it runs, is a nightmare with program control and is a system hog. may tackle hard drive wipe soon and I hope that will get rid of it finally.

    Google Chrome

I downloaded it and tested a bit, will wait for next release. some rendering errors were to be expected, but I would have figured they would have tested with sites such as foxnews.com, but not all are for that flavor of news. bigger problems were with slowing down my system. sure it seemed fast loading, probably due to dns prefetch, but it would cause my system and mouse to pause when loading parts of pages. a romanian friend downloaded it and experienced the same thing.
  5. usually fairly safe. may be hunting at 10500ft, so altitude is always a factor. not so bad since I live at 5k ft, it is hilarious to see lowlanders come up and try to hunt on top of their smoking habit. is archery season, so big risk is impaling self on arrow or cutting yourself when gutting them because blades of broadhead came off going through animal.
  6. seems they found the secret to the strengthening of the storm through the magic of advanced computer imaging. they found sheep!
  7. I will be in vmode for up to two weeks in next few days. will be up killing elk (mostly chasing) in wyoming. will be back sooner if I fill all my tags. should have some pics for all the folks that love them shortly after too
  8. reading up on gustav and saw that after hanna, this year comes ike! prob available from a variety of sites, but I saw it here, where you can watch the storm's progress.
  9. 1991- graduated high school at sheldon in eugene oregon. always sort smell of petuli oil since it is eugene and paper mills depending on the wind. 1991 to 1996- bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from university of alaska fairbanks. looks great in summer with all the sunlight, but is quite drab in winter covered in snow that is some shade of grey combined with 3hrs of sunlight. 1999 to 2001- was getting masters of business administration at university of wyoming, located in laramie, as an excuse to party hard with severance package from a job I had in uk. lets just say that business is alot easier than engineering, 3.6+ gpa out of 4.0 and closing bar most nights. dropped out in last semester as I make alot more in oilfield. I don't have to wear a suit and tie in oilfield
  10. im here now. obvious or rhetorical, im consused often. I known a few from dark for years from sacred but always played indy. as far as uni9, rank21 or so, with acct I built from scratch about 14mo to 5kk. all over g1, so often got lanx and decent nanites to lend a hand. on more than I should be of course. no fleet that I am aware of, so got great mines (almost 63k points a week) and however dispicable farming is, I do alot. history of ogame is heavy fleeter from uni20. quit at rank3 almost a year into the uni, with top2 accts being very obvious proxy users on 24/7. uni started late may 2006, I started a month late after meeting majorlee, who played guild wars, on fdm. hits of note, one top10, fav hit, and gnn interview. top10 hit was just silly, guy deployed between me and rank2 in g4, needless to say days were numbered. fav hit was kid that had harassed my bro in rl in low g1, so when he came up under my country around hw, his fleet was hosed. gnn interview was by buddy now playing my acct, I saved his butt so many times as he would mobile and when the heat got to inferno levels, just deploy to my hw system. chatted with mrva some. not real social nor anti-social, never seem to get along with the elite type players. so don't be afraid to drop a line ingame, im around.
  11. my stupid wireless on laptop is fainally working 3mo after a vista 'update', hp finally releases drivers that work. no more 50ft tether to the nearest hub. no dogs, babies, kids, and me tripping on it run across the family room. can poach wireless wherever I go now!
  12. I thought we all had arm'pitts' the only questions is shaven or unshaven...
  13. tried out on my 1400x900 res on laptop. nothing on firefox and nothing on flock (main browser).
  14. in american english we use them all in writing. proper pronunciation is another matter depending region, education and socio-economic situation you come from. write it off to vernacular and dialect.
  15. first name is christopher, but most call me chris. only my mother calls me christopher when I have been bad. not heard it in a while since I am 35.
  16. prom, not sure if this will help, but a few changes that might help since you last played. I am relatively new to dark ogame, but had floated around sacred for years. 1. no moon idling. there is just overview idling. fleets make activity on moons, reading msgs, fleet, jg, etc all make activity. 2. battlecruiser rocks, so many ways to use 3. ipm range expanded, now range =(5*impulse)-1. used to be 2 4. officers and dm, various usefulness in them all 5. commander rss feed, rocks if you are overview idling and waiting for ninjas. I use thunderbird, the free one from mozilla 6. updates are more than 3 times a day, I am never sure when I get points from losing or growing, rofl 7. ocalc still exists 8. ostats is dead for .org as I understand, we use http://ogame.gamestats.org now which is quite nice. got growth stats and planet locations. bonus is you don't need to know german to read it. 9. many changes to lanx, would have to check oof to see them all. I would assume they are correct, but I(t) could be wrong.

  22. the houses aren't on stilts there? saw that in south carolina near the coast. some benefits to living almost a mile high, no hurricanes and no flooding from ocean. I can presume one can at least bbq with propane so all is not lost. can always bbq on a boat in yard! best of luck with it all
  23. don't forget the steady hand also! I may be wrong, but with kids what is yours is theirs and what theirs is theirs. but I do get to buy legos now!
  24. good you found something to make you warm and fuzzy! a friend with tweezers will help with things lost in ears. yet to do it with earplugs, but it will happen one of these days rofl should I tell you the kids now have the sennheisers?
