  1. Yes it is this becoming bored factor that makes a good character. The DM-shopper is probably able to play the silver campaign as a dragon-berzerker. Then the next difficulty can be a hybrid who recharges dragon strikes with weapon hits. On platinum it could be destroyers and on niob a GoW sniper build (by changing camera view to ego shooter and aiming the long way for maximum damage). So a good character should not become boring easily. The problem is that this Jack of all Trades are too splitted to be real powerful. Bargaining even robs a skill probably needed elsewhere. So with starting as a berzerker it takes just one skill. The same skill which will modify and boost the ca-levels of the companion. The companion will give a third of the damage to the other aspects. Personally I would have taken 5 points in concentration instead dragon magic lore to unlock dragon magic focus.
  2. But how long does it take to get a mutation set, how long to play to level 200?
  3. The picture is for 15kg concrete powder, 35 kg quartz sand, 10litre water. That is for one box. When We did ours we had a pipe build in for the bass reflexes and we used quite flat speakers. Technic developed meanwhile, but my brother in the audio lab a friend has our old ones are still comparablec to a pair of 1000 euro boxes. My brother stll uses this old amplifier With vacuum tubes.
  4. After the problem with the GustOfWind character of my daughter (bug in regeneration system:)) she decided to start the ultimate shopper. Simple, easy and a berzerker to remove frustration after the fiasco with the GoW DM. So the idea is: Using the CM-patch and play a dragon berzerker. The Berzerker just needs dragon magic focus and ca-levels. A bargainer needs high skills. So by socketing +allSkills the berzerker wins in power while the bargainer gets better in its job less time needed to swap netween the bargaining and the play gear The 40s cooldown + regeneration time after berzerking can be used for shopping Of cause the berzerker will run into problems around end of gold. But at this time other spells should be made running. So far at level 12: bargaining 12 dragon magic lore 5 alchemy 1 dragon magic focius 6 armour lore 1 Alchemy is a bit weird: the berzerker-form won't have alchemy skill, but the trophies are unlocked. So at bosses for 20 seconds some reg per hit, attack speed and evasion... My daughter considers DM-berzerker as a nice alternative for low level shoppers, what are you thinking about it?
  5. The destroyers without a combination and 3.9s reg time recharged faster than the 3ca combination which islisted as 3.7s. Above 1s faster.
  6. Do we have a page for this. And for the different regeneration systems? Our 14 years old was throwing her dragon mage at level 65 away because she choose the wrong ca-regeneration system. She did the new one instead the classic. When playing her new GustOfWind build she was running into something intresting or annoying, dependant who you are. For her it was annoying: A Combination with Maelstrom (3.4s) --- Destroyers (0.7sCD+ 3s) --- GoW (1s) Another combination with just destroyers. So what we had: 100% chance for half regeneration time 10% from combat discipline, so regeneration is just 40% of the normal time You would exspect that the combination with just destroyers would recharge slower than the 3-CA one. But it isn't. You could do another destroyer one before the 3-ca recharged. Tested again A 3.4s Maelstrom in one slot and the destroyer combination in another. Doing the destroyers, they were recharged and the maelstrom had still a long way to got.... Could it be that half regeneration time just halves the aspect regeneration time in the new regeneration system? I always used the classic system so I have no experience. But everyone with a character using the new system: could you try with other classes (the DM might be bugged with combinations) if it is same in your case? This is one of the earliest thing you have to choose in a character and it seems to be really important for caster characters which system they choose.
  7. Modern boxes are designed to allow to make them into smaller carryable parts. To prevent heart attacks I won't post the prices of high end concrete boxes. Today it would be around 600 Euro. Not in the 350DM are like 30-40 hours of work. My younger brother was in an orchestra and he wanted good speakers. A friend was music teacher and he wanted some too - and some for the school. So by asking around we decided to do 15 pairs, all identical except the colours. School ones were red and green, for left and right boxes.
  8. It are more different movements. Rollng the ball with fingertips for fine cursor movement, turning the ball with full hand for a arrow- key effect, ... It is not just the better control, it are different movenents which prevent a repetitive stress, however it is called in english. How the slimblade is in gaming, at least ot works for Patrizier2+3 another old Ascaron game. We use to buy mouses, keyboards after testing. It is like buying a car, if I am too big for it I wont buy. And I probably spend more time at the computers, so spending money for better health effect when using them, ... It is like all the extras at cars which easy your life and are more expensive. But if 15% of the people who work full day with computers suffer from hand injuries, we think you cant start early enough to look for more healthy controls than a mouse.
  9. Discussed with this my wife and daughters: The old CRPG's had a nice mixed party on their covers. But they had their time when people played more pen and paper than nowadays. I remember my pen and paper times with boys and girls nearly equally in numbers. Also the clothes were more realistic: only 10% of the skin covered? The Dungeonmaster would probably have some rolling the dices to cast with frozen fingers at a cold night. So the hero's at the computer RPG's were dressed in a manner the pen and paper players would have dressed their characters. These half naked characters popped up when the RPG's were less turn based but fully animated and in high resolution. Anyone remember the naga priestess in one of the Wizardries decades back? There was a nipple-gate even before the superbowl one. But what was the old nipple gate: a stopmotion 400*400 image with the nipple being a pixel or two.

What is needed for a Gust of Wind build: elementalist focus elemental lore combat discipline ancient magic: does it work on physical damage mitigation? concentration: companion and runes of protection dragon magic focus: companion can do around one-third more in damage mentalist focus: runes of protection and maelstrom armour lore spell resistance: works great with the willpower from companion ... alchemy is what I would choose as last: healing potions which really heal 100% of health mentors lasting real long pink potions to stop these nasty undeads in swamps from standing up again ... Combinations: there is a nasty bug in dragon mage combinations You can't reduce the number of combat arts you have in a combination, but you can put in diffrent ones. So I normally have in my general elementalist build: 3: maelstrom, destroyer, GoW With CM-patch and its ca-range sigil set using the elementalist set as another ca-range giver maelstrom covers a big area. By doing it first the enemies have lower stats. So they hit weaker and have less hitpoints They also have less physical resistance. So both, destroyers and GoW, as physical attacks win from this. This combination is nice at bosses which summon beasts. 2: maelstorm, GOW Main usage is fighting throwing enemies in an hallways. By placing the maelstrom in front, their throws drop short. The same effects to the enemies as above are still valid. This scenerario has a lot of idle destroyers if using the 3-ca combination. 1: GoW The build has 100% chance to halve regeneration time. With combat discipline mastery another 20% are won in the regeneration clock. 70% less regeneration time, the reg-clock starts at 8. 1: Destroyers Late game when they are spammable with clock starting at 8. Early game the 3-ca combinations is dragon-strike, destroyers and energy blaze. It is used when a nice numbers of enemies is collected at an open spot.
  11. My boxes are 20 years old. Some friends, my brother and me spend a weekend to make negative forms from styropor and then use the forms to pour fast hardening concrete in. Designed for 100 Watt sinus and having bass reflex pipes build in. We build 30=2*15 boxes. Six of them were for the local school. Each box was like 50 pounds. The speakers got a nice discount at the electronic dealer because of the number we bought. The frequenz mixer did our electronic expert who was doing his doctor title in electronic at this time. My job was calculating of the basses and the colouring of the concrete: Concrete does a lot less vibrations than wood or metal. The pictures are from a german doityourself magazin. Which we had this good material back then.
  12. My daughter had it in a shopper build. Fire the god power at a boss and then use the waiting minutes for shopping.
  13. Nice parody of the coat of arms of the french kings: 3 golden lilies on blue shield. But in game it is one up and two below, while the original is two top and one below. Wonder of the others are related to real life ones two.
  14. The Wizardry series had whips, as had Sacred. You could get light whips by disarming certain foes.
  15. Do you do a general elementalist approach or do you specialize if you want to play with GoW? In our destroyers build there are areas were GoW kills faster: long hallways where enemies are lined up for example. But if surrounded Destroyers win.
  16. Polearms: Pointed ones are dexterity: lances, spears,... Blade ones are strength: helbard, scythe, ... At least it was this way when I started sacred2 with a polearm elf.
  17. The two rope kite can do real nice acrobatics. Our sailingplane club has a kite flying department which does it as a sport in a national league.

She has savefiles when finishing silver, gold, plat, niob Silver was mainly a three CA combination: destroyer: fire and forget weapon maelstrom: reduce stats and armour of nearby enemies so more damage and enemy has less hitpoints gush of wind: modded for physical damage it wins from maelstrom and keeps enemies away from melee range but still in destroyer range Gold the cooldown of the destroyers was lowered so that a 2-CA combination with destroyers and maelstrom was working. Niob the order was reversed: Maelstrom first followed by destroyers so that the lower armour tactic was working for close range enemies too.
  19. English imperial are outdated units Miles, feet, inches, ... There nearly was a war because a german king had bigger feet than an english king. There was a time when the foot was the length of the foot of the king. So there was always some discussion which feet were to be used. Since the german king had bigger feet the germans bought land from the english using german feet when measuring while the per square feet price the english accepted was of the english king. Lets say it diplomatic: the british were not amused.
  20. I can tell you one thing: +ca-range is contra-productive for the shower. It covers a way to big area this way. The area the shower hits with a +70% ca-range increase is nearly a factor 3, but with the same amount of meteors... So best to stay away from it. This new CM-patch set for the pyro has +ca-range. My option for the meteors is normally stun, more, faster. If I want it for savety I mod it for savety: Stun ,needed if you want savety More = more chances to stun faster = getting a stun quicker, so less risc I normally go for high ca-levels rather than for damage socketing. A CA-level of 150 in 2 fire buffs and in IS gives a high chance to stun while the buffs give the x% damage. Mastered Combat discipline and 100% half regen times, the clock starts at 8 for regeneration, this allows the high levels late game. And a 150 IS has a way better chance to stun than a 30 IS with damage socketing, even later might do a bit more damage, if at all.
  21. Don't care about the runes you read. It depends on how long you want to play with the character: silver, gold, platin, niob. You can either read runes and use 'chance to halve regeneration times' to counter it or socket +ca-level equipment I noticed that end gold/ early platin there is a break even point for my dragon mages. You need as many sockets to reach 100% chance for half regeneration as you would need to socket the ca-levels you have read. Climbing in level the 5% chance in silver reaches 15% in niob per amulet. My daughter played even silver with a 100% chance for half regeneration
  22. It is my tuba and I have it at home when not used. Everyone in my family plays an instrument. I have the tuba from my grandpa. Normally I play the horn in our family orchestra. For a hunting license you have to know and are able to do the horn signals anyway.   23. Last month: gras blade piping to imitate Bambi flutes from elder-berry branches Today: 'Helicopter' from tiny potatoes and feathers. Lot of different feathers, a falcon got a pigeon it seems. Did some good autorotaters for the twins and a howler/noise make assymtric thrown potato-rotater for myself.
  24. I still own by 14 years old IBM keyboard with its lead filled plate and the micro switches. Like it more than any other keyboard I tried. Trackball vs Mouse in case of my wife: I was told it is psychological. The desk with the screen is covered with papers and information about the patient/sick person. At a 27 or 30 inch screen the mouse needs room and aiming is not easy. With a trackball she doesn't need to clean up, can use just the fingers, no silent cursing because the cursor (is it really named after cursing) is never there where it should be... So a clean shining trackball surely wins over a dirty rat on a smelling mouse pad if you see it from the side of the patient. Showing fine finger control instead fast hand movements invoke less fear for a surgery done by these fingers, ... Add that too long mouse using a day can do injuries and pain-
