  1. What's the latest on the fire? Here is the latest link I was able to find: http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/alberta/the-fort-mcmurray-disaster-read-the-latest-wednesday/article29930041/
  2. I just heard about this. From the report I read, everybody has been safely evacuated, so there was no loss of life (reported). I hope the fire is out soon so no one else has to lose everything they own. Best of luck to you and your countrymen gogo.
  3. A Fellowship who is kept in the Dark still Matters.
  4. Hmm, "Getting ripped off by Sacred merchants" ... Does that include real-life ones as well?
  5. Ah, yet another human fanatic. Wonder where all the Vulcan fanatics are? Oh wait, there should be no Vulcan fanatics, as that implies emotion. Greetings and welcome Sergey. I'm sure you will find all your Sacred and Sacred 2 needs here ... as well as a few others we need not mention at this time.
  6. I finally got around to uploading the game to my portable devices. It refuses to work for very long on my iPad2. Keeps CTD. It seems to run OK on my iPhone 6P but it is just too small for these old, tired eyes to keep up with. At least I have it. If/when I upgrade to the iPadPro 12.x" tablet, it should be fine. So far it looks much more interesting than Metro Redux which I got for my PS4.
  7. Thanks all, no longer needed. My students son emailed me to let me know he was going to talk his father into getting a newer system, so the old one doesn't need to be upgraded.
  8. The system it is to be installed on tests as not being compatible with Windows 8.1 but does test OK for windows 8.0. I'm hoping that, once Windows 8 is installed the system will update to 8.1 and then to 10. It's a really old Windows Vista system though, so I'm not sure if it's capable of running any of the newer OSs fast enough to be useful. The owner doesn't want to buy another computer but Vista is no longer supported, so he can't even update his AV.
  9. An acquaintance of mine has an old 64-bit Windows Vista system. Since Vista is no longer being supported, he has to upgrade. I've tried to talk him into simply buying a new computer but he insists on upgrading instead. I have looked everywhere I can think of for the proper software but the only OS I've been able to find for sale are Windows 7 (various flavors), Windows 8.1 (various flavors), and Windows 10 (same remark). Does anyone know where I can purchase a copy of Windows 8.9 for a 64-bit system?
  10. Try unequipping everything, looking at the merchants offerings, and then reequip everything and look again to see if there is a difference. [Added] I meant to say "UNequip" everything!
  11. Received 4 codes. Started trying to redeem them from the bottom of the list. The first one finally redeemed and I got the software. Wonder why one code would work but the rest wouldn't? Thanks!
  12. Since you seem to have multiple codes that no one wants, I am willing to try one. My daughter also likes games but she doesn't have an iPad. If you want, I can login to the forum and contact someone about you being banned. That shouldn't have happened ... unless it was your very first post. Posting links in a first post is too much like spam activity to even bother looking at closely. Most forums just automatically ban.
  13. It's so much more powerful than any of the first PCs it's almost ludicrous. I was planning on getting one with a combination keyboard/case so it would be a replacement for my WinTel Notebook. I was all set to purchase one the day before the annual Apple announcement of new products at their keynote address. It was suggested I might want to wait until after to make my decision. Glad I did. I like the new features for the new 9.7" iPad Pro but still want the larger size so it will better match the notebook footprint. Guess I will now have to wait at least another year to see if they retrofit the features into the larger model.
  14. I have an iPad, am seriously thinking of getting an iPad Pro, and also have 2033 Redux on the PS4. I don't really like FPS games because, unlike real life, I can't hit the broad side of a barn in a game. Have you thought about making your offer on one of the many iPad forums? One that I am a member of is the Apple iPad Forum: http://www.ipadforums.net/ Hope you find someone to give the code to before it runs out.
  15. I have been, which in most cases is better than having not been, thank you for asking. My 64-bit Windows 10 self-built system is running quite smoothly now. It is a bit slow to boot though. On normal days it takes almost 2 seconds for the display to stabilize and be ready to use. If I must start from a complete power down state, it takes almost 3 seconds! I keep trying to work on it but it just refuses to move any faster ... so far. In keeping with this topic, I have Sacred Gold installed and must remember to play it more.
  16. Sorry, it came across as not very friendly to me as well but I think it was more from frustration with the game mechanics than any actual hostility towards the OP. It never hurts to realize that not everyone is a mind reader ...
  17. Thanks for reminding me that was there. I have now cross-linked it from my website: http://pctalk.info/Games/index.htm Hopefully it will give you a little more traffic.
  18. The Grilled Cheese Academy For what it's worth, I'm a member of the "Nuke it till it glows" club. Why go through all that cleanup involved with a greasy pan when you can just use stray electrons to heat the cheese from the inside and be done with it!?
  19. If no one else (including you) want any of them, I wouldn't mind trying the Riddick one. On a side note, I found my System Shock 2 disk (complete with like new box and all contents) and tried to install it. I immediately got an error: I searched online and found that if I ran the setup.exe with the -lgntforce option it would work ... and it did. The game is now installed. I guess I now need to see if it will actually run. [Added] Well, that was quick. It installed with no problem but it refuses to run on a 64-bit Windows 10 system. I tried running it as an Admin, several different Compatibility options, and banging on the console with my red foam rubber hammer. Nothing worked! Ah well, it will probably go on sale through GoG eventually if I really feel I need it. [Added 2] I just put the CD back in the box and found my copy of the original System Shock (1) inside as well. Guess I wanted to make sure I didn't lose it.
  20. Why not keep them for yourself. I have an old System Shock 2 lying around somewhere and really loved the game. Try it, you might like it!
  21. Sacred Gold and Sacred 2 Gold are both on sale at GoG again. From the time of this post the sale will last approximately 10 days, 3 hours, 28 minutes, and 15 seconds.
  22. I would be more concerned about the supposed ISIS infiltrators. Have you had any extra political unrest due to the migrants?
  23. Ah, learning new things is so easy in here. Too bad it's not so easy over on my side.
  24. Ah, thanks. Needed if you want to change existing speech but not so much to mod the game.
