I'm confused as to me like it or not like it... . I'm so biased with this movie that I can't judge it. Plus I got a terrible seat where I need to crank my neck.

Oh Schot it is an emotional roller-coaster, you go in expecting the worst, and then you start to realize that the movie is just a whole lot of awesome and yeah haha, thats all I have to say about that, I'm going to see it again

I'm a tad bit very friggin much skeptical when it comes to cartoons hitting Hollywood.

I dont belive it all the talk about the movie and in the end everyone liked it?

Dont get me wrong there were thigs that I liked about it and I will list them in the front before I say what I have to say about the movie.

 

Like: How all the transformers looked. Nice way to bring them up to modern times all in all they looked great.

 

Dont like: This one will be a long one.

I just said that I liked how the transformers looked but there are some things that needed to be worked on. First the CG guys put so much hard work in the transformers I read somewere that they had over 50.000 mobile parts and all that hard work wasnt shown. Could they not show us one transfromer transfroming in slow motion. A nother thing when ever we were to see the transformers it was allways close ups or from very very far away never on good middle frame when you can see clearly what they look like. So the director had to have some more common sence when he was useing the camara better said what would look good on the eye.

So the transformers took so long to make in CG and it was hard work for so many of the people that made them and many of them we did not see at all. For one Bone Crasher he is shown in total of what somewhere around a 1 to 2 min.. So by the time he is called in it is time for Prime to put a sword in his head. Nothing but waste of good time and money. The same with Scorpenok. What was the hole point for him being in the movie he had no purpose what soever. But it all comes down to the main big problem this movie had and that was the REALLY BAD SCENARIO!

Why do I say this the two guys that wrote it had a yahoo conference somewhere around jan. and whoever watched it will know what I mean. They new everything about the transformers each ones caracter how they fit in the big picture and all of that and when you watched them you were getting a really good feeling about what they were doing at the time with the movie plot and caratcer interaction.

So where did all of that energy go? What happend? How did we get this movie with this sceenplay. I will give you some examples of what I mean:

1. They say that the Meagtron StarSceam ineration would be all there all there fighting and general dislike of each othere. StarSceams lust for power and control of the Desepticons army all there. In the movie all that comes down to this:

StarScream:"Lord Megatron you live?"

Megatron:"Where is the allspark StarScream"

StarScream:"It is gone Megatron"

Megatron:"You failed me againStarScream "

[the words are not all that right but all in all that was what was said]

All that rich history and some of the best one on one bad guys interaction came down to. In a 2 hour movie it took what 2 secs. to be told that is all the time they had.

 

2.Jazz. My dear Jazz. What did they do to you. The free spirit and great respect that you had from your felow autobots and being the second in command and allways willing to sacriface came down to what?

Jazz jumps to fight megatron with out any reason and gets riped in two. What was it so hard to show some damaged autobot or a school bus of children in Megatrons way and then Jazz to step in Megatons way and sacrifice him self. Allsaw in the end when they autobots say that Jazz is dead and cant be saved was it to hard to zoom in on Prime. They gave him a mouth and over a 100 mobile pisses in his face. Was it so hard to show his saddes for the loss of his second in command. The same goes for all of the rest of the autobots.

 

3.What was the use of Scorpenok in the movie. I get the start of the movie Blackout attacks the army base and leaves. The US soldiers do what? They dont wait to secure the base look for surviors and rescue teams to come they go in the desert to look for a vilage phone. My god how stupid do they think the army people are to do that. On top of that Scorpenok is there in the sands waithing for someone to come and use the village phone?

 

4.humans there is as much humans caracters as there is Transformers in the TRANSFORMERS MOVIE. And some of the transformers dont even open there mouths to say one word in the hole movie and they said they will get this cool famouse actors to give the voices to the Transformers. Give me a break.

 

5.The allspark thing. I have neer heard of anything like this the thing that makes transformers. In all the transformers history be in anime comics or anyother there was nothing about an allspark. Fine they wanted to put something new but a cube that gives life to objects and make them in transforemers. I would of bought this as well if they didnt explain in the start that the transformers were exo-sceletons that can mimic objects. And that the interior is the alien teck thing. Then the big schok! Nokia phones have exo-sceletons all it takes is some radiation from the all spark to make them active transformers. Yes my friends Nokia phones and Soda macines have exo-sceletons and the all spark can make them in transformers the same goes for any machine that we have here on earth.

 

So how did they write the movie?

First they watched about a 1000 teen movies. No mater if they were romantic comedies or love stories or horror movies with teens. From all of that they make a teen love story and normaly they put in a cool car for the boys and they got the movie. At that time they finally realized that this movie is about Giant robots that change form so they put some of them in here and there so they wont have to change the tittle[you all know how hard it is for movie makers to come up with good tittles this days] of the movie and give back the money. I almost forgot they got in some cheep jokes about the robots so it wont give up the romantic teen comedy.[The people that started to put in jokes in SF movies out of control should be removed from the movie buisness].

 

So what is the moral of the story.

Dont give SF movies to be directerd by people who are scared to us CG or even know how to use it in the right way.

Dont give SF movies to be written by people that dont have a clue about what they are writheing about.

When you get a cool chance in life to have the honor of making a movie like the Transformers dont waste it one team members that will destroy it.

I will give you one Example Peter Jackson was not scared to use CG in LOTR. He looked at it heard what everyone wanted and was expecting out of it and gave it to the world.

 

I hope I get some of your thoughts on the moive something more then it was great!

Well I wasn't going to rock the boat before most people have seen the movie. It would be unfair for me to see it the first day, blah blah blah on it right away. And I did go see it again for a better judgment.

 

I liked many things about the movies, but two things absolutely engrossed me, ok three.

 

1) Bad acting!! The build up of the plot is good, in fact I think it is enticing how they introduce the characters. But it goes straight to hell once sector 7 is introduced. The sector 7 actors are unbelievable. The jokes they said are not funny, the expressions they do are beyond awful.

 

I feel like they have introduced Mr. bean into the movie instead of sector 7.

 

Spoiler Alert!!

 

For instance, the introduction scene of the head of sector 7 is weird. He showed his badge to the secretary of defense, said he is from sector 7, then went to the sofa talking to himself: "I'm going to take a seat". Huh? I mean, if you have a direct order from the president, shouldn't you be saying that instead of showing a sector 7 badge which you know no one will recognize?

 

Its not just some scenes, the dialogs of the sector 7 people, in general, are irrational. Wth is "beyond classified material" ? And that turned out to be a tape showing Megatron, which didn't show anything new by the time it was introduced. By then they have live footages of more than one transformer, what good is that 12 second ancient tape?

 

Ok remember the scene where they captured BumbleBee? Sam has been arrested and the acting officer said a ridiculous line like: "we met again, kid!" when in fact it was the same encounter.

 

Many more but you get what I mean.

 

2) Sam gets the chick and saves the world?!

 

Good God, we are there to see the Transformers, not Sam getting a hot chick and saving the world. Its ridiculous, Sam killed Megetron! Excuse me, since when is Sam the leader of the Transformers?

 

The plot is stupid too I agree. Y give the cube to Sam in the first place? Any of the transformers can grab it and run. Ok Fine, Bumblebee entrust it to Sam, I will let it goes. And then he run faster than Megatron? Alright, I will even let this passes, he has two transformer guards covering for him, whatever . Now now, you seriously want me to believe that after all the running Sam can climb the stairs so fast that he is able to shake Megatron? With Megatron flying and all that?

 

The looking for the glasses scene is a little bit funny but entirely cheap. It adds nothing to the plot, and the interactions between Sam and the transformers have no chemistry at all. I rather they use that time to have a real show down between the Transformers. This is more like a scene from a comedy.

 

3) The fighting scenes were too brief and not well thought out. The kid that sat next to me kept saying "that's it?" and I agree. One or two punches and the winner is determined. Huge introduction for all the units, all to what? A confusion of a massive fight where they all drop like flies.

 

One shot and BlackOut (or Ironhide) is dead? One shot from the military dude on a motorcycle no less. Wait no, he jumped off the bike, landed on his back, slid on the street the way he wanted it, made a perfect shot, then walked it off without a slightest scratch. Superman?

 

The Bumblebee shooting scene is unreasonable too. So the girl drove him away to this deserted sidestreet, cried, then drove back. Revelation from God? Psychic? Courage?

 

And yes I agree that the transforming sequences are too fast, with camera angles that do no justice to the work they put in.

 

Last but not least, the ending is entirely unsatisfying. They will erase the traces of any evidence of a Decepticons attack. Huh? An entire city is razed, thousands of people are eyewitnesses. Hello? You brainwash all of them or what?

Thanx for the warning Myles, lol. I'm going to go see it this week sometime but I think what I'm going to do is watch it with the mindset that I've never even heard of Transformers. Well I'll try at least. See if I can give a perspective of one who hasn't any expectations. That's going to be very hard to do!

Myles when you said about megatron being killed by the kid you are so right.

When I watched it again it was all the humans that took out Megatron. Prime had nothing to do with it. First it was the F-22 then the kid with the cube.

 

And about Sam runing so fast so true. When the autobots were escorting him to the building you can see them runing as well as Sam. He has to be the fastes runing human on the planet.

 

And in the end are both the Autobots and us humans so bad at counting that they didnt count the dead decepticons. beacuase I know no one got StarScream and he his hard to miss since he is a big F-22.

Well his back should be a bloody ruin, but they probably didn't want to show that in case they scared the kiddies, or to avoid a 15 rating.

 

I enjoyed it, but the transformations were too quick, some transformers were barely shown, and most of it seemed to be action! Can't we see the transformers and decepticons doing a bit more! And Jazz just gets ripped in half, what the hell, why was he stupid enough to take on Megatron whos about 3 times his size, for no reason!

 

Gah and the glasses scene, although the "my bad" is quite funny, the rest is stupid....

I did like the bit about them learning english from the web, and finding sam through ebay..

Oh and its meant to be transformers not Sam and his hot girlfriend save the world with the transformers as the backstory

 

Oh yeah, the ending, what the heck was that a) we never saw the surviving decepticons (including the ones created by the all spark) die, and how could they cover that up, a city centre destroyed, and thousands of witnesses and casualties. What was it, a secret russian weapon, a hurricane, maybe even a secret russian hurricane!

 

Lastly, the all spark... Why did it only make decepticons, why not make an autobot with it!

 

Gosh, and I'm not even a transformers fan, and I've never liked the cartoon, where did all that come from! Maybe I'm just a sucker for cool robots

 

Apart from that I enjoyed it a lot...!

P.S. Gah! Something that really annoyed me was some of the camera work, some shots were way too short, and some were too close up to see what was going on

It does bug me that the cube makes only Decepticons, so true. Its supposely the same race, so its indeed problematic for the cube to always create something evil. The "babies" should be neutral much like an infant.

 

I like human involvement in the Transformer movie, but surly you cannot make the Transformers sidekick of Sam. That just won't do!

 

But like I said, I still like the movie overall.
