Sneak0r 33
I actually don't have a problem with that. My usual dislike of TOC is because it's unnecessary, or pushes down the content of the page, or makes headings off-center. But in this case, I think that looks kind of nice. I was going to ask this same question of Gogo and Schot, before I worked on anymore aspect pages, should I include the TOC? Right now, I've "completed" only the three Dragon Mage aspects, and they don't have the TOC. But I could add them back depending on what everyone thinks. After playing a bit around I found THE solution for the __TOC__ that eleminated that kind of disadvantage! Please have a look at: http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Dragon_Mage/de http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Dragon_Mage_Combat_Arts/de http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Dragon_Magic/de http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Elemental_Magic/de http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Mentalism/de http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Skills/de http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Combat_Art_Modifications/de The code is pretty simple <div style="float:right;"> {|style="margin:0px 0px 5px 10px;" |__TOC__ |} </div> change style="float:right;" to style="float:right;" to have it on the left side and change style="margin:0px 0px 5px 10px;" to style="margin:0px 10px 5px 0px;" If you like it on the right side as it is? Use it! p.s. I'll use it that way for every of the /de pages (that is long enough to holds a toc) from now on Edited September 2, 2013 by Sneak0r Link to comment
gogoblender 3,071
Very elegant and classy looking. Also much less non obtrusive. The top right ad will still look good against it on pages I've seen. good job sneakor! gogo Link to comment
Schot 407
Hi gang I'm proud to present what I worked on today, not least of all because it was a lot of fun! Today I made videos and pictures and added them to each individual Dragon Mage CA page. You can browse them all from here. Now the DM's CA pages match the other 6 classes. I also tried to add in as much details as I could on usage, pros/cons, etc. You may also notice that the DM Combat Arts gained while transformed, formerly red links, have now been given the same treatment. I only had 2 strange things happen during editing today that I will have to ask about before I finish up this little project: I asked about them in this thread. That's so cool to see. Nice work on those Flix. Link to comment
Flix 5,116
Great then I'll use Sneak0r's TOC style on the aspect pages! Alrighty I'm back from fun in the sun and back to working on the Wiki (fun out of the sun). I've started to add the Ice and Blood mounts to the mount pages: http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Saber-toothed_Tiger http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Monitor_Lizard Any thoughts on how they look or how the format could be improved are of course welcome. This was basically the only thing I could do that looked good. Link to comment
Knuckles 904
Looks pretty good given the limitations we have with sacredwiki pics. My only thought would be to try use use a thumbnail version of those pics but really not sure what it would look like after you did it. I could experiment with one if you want and see how it looks Link to comment

Knuckles 904
I'll give it a go on the first pic in the sabertoothed tiger page and then have you look at it edit: all seem to be newer pics...if you want some help formatting I can assist here... To thumbnail a sacredwiki pic all you need to do is input pic code twice in a row and on 2nd link add th_ to the beginning of pic name. example: {{S2frame|[http://www.sacredwiki.org/knuckles.jpg http://www.sacredwiki.org/th_knuckles.jpg]]}} Link to comment
Flix 5,116
Newer pics? You are correct, I just made them myself today. And if the code needs to be formatted better, by all means HALP. Tables are the bane of my existence. About the thumbnails, I'm not sure it would really look good to have them that small? I kind of like the user being able to see it clearly without having to click the image. To slightly change the subject Knuckles do you still have the frosted-glass background that you used on the mounts page? I'd like to add that background to the new Draconicon pic, or have you do it if you are willing? Link to comment
Knuckles 904
well the thumbnailing was for older wiki pics...let me see what I can do on that page And let me find that background...pretty sure I still have it (fingers crossed) Link to comment
Knuckles 904
here it is http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/File:S2backgroundlogo.jpg Link to comment
Flix 5,116
Thanks, good to have the watermark background on hand. However I actually meant this background: Also, sorry I KNEW I should have made a new thread for this mount stuff! Anyway, about the code, I noticed a big difference between the Spider page and the Tiger page, for example. The Spider's code didn't give me such a headache. They look the same on the page though, I don't know if one is more efficient or something. Edited September 3, 2013 by Flix Link to comment
Sneak0r 33
yea maybe I should to a threat for the toc as well, or could someone do a template or something like that? Link to comment
Knuckles 904
I formatted some on the lizard page....the title for the I&B pics was throwing off the centering a bit so I added title for the Fallen Angel ones....let me know what you think 1 Link to comment
Flix 5,116
Wow! I love that they're the same size and both have captions! It looks more even now. Excellent job. But they seem kind of tiny now? Could they be increased in size a little bit without throwing anything out of whack? Maybe it's just because I've been looking at the Hellhound pages and they're gigantic images. Link to comment
Knuckles 904
First things first.....found the background...scared me a bit since it wasn't where I thought it would be and I never re-named file...finally did a search...luckily I don't have that many .pse files saved was named 'Untitled-32' but now uploaded http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/File:Background1.jpg Spoke with gogo and max size he wants is 500 px so I'll go ahead and increase to that 1 Link to comment
Flix 5,116
Great thanks you're like a wizard! 500px is good size, two 635px pics side by side would have been too large. Now that I've got your good example I can take it from here with the rest of the mounts. Link to comment
Knuckles 904
Well I re-sized to 600px Still looks fine to me. Still got 450px in my brain from all the Places pages The trick is getting the 2nd pic to line up, and that is a little trial and error. Especially when the 2 pics have different dimensions. so the 1st pic had a 600px modifier and then on 2nd I used x200px. Added an 'x' to front of number and then increased/decreased the'200' shown in my example til pics lined up Link to comment
Popular Post Knuckles 904
welp I changed back to 500px Flix...sorry Had a good convo with gogo and schot and they reminded me of one thing. we have members/visitors with a wide variety of monitors and resolutions. Now include tablets and smart phones. We need to make the wiki as accessible as possible to everyone. They asked that we use 1280 as a baseline resolution, Which mean if you adjust your monitor resolution to that, everything on page has to be visible horizontally. So using that as a guide, pic size should be limited to 500px especially when we have 2 pics side by side. I kind of forgot about different resolutions myself 2 Link to comment
Sneak0r 33
Well shouldn't we use a tables with that fix size and 100% hight on every page so we have an idea about where to put things in this tiny window? Oo Link to comment
Knuckles 904
I fixed my post after you posted sneak0r....I forgot to add the word 'horizontally', which changed the whole meaning of what I said...sorry Just need to fit horizontally on page....scrolling down isn't an issue (we have some long pages out there) Link to comment
