Sacred Combat Art Descriptions

Recommended Posts

Hey guys!

We've begun tackling the Combat Art descriptions over the last little while in the Wiki. The wiki already has spots all over it for the Combat Art descriptions for all the characters, what is missing now is small write-ups of the Combat Arts. I just did one for the seraphim's Rotating Blades of Light which is the following:

th_rbol.jpg

And can be found here on Sacredwiki:

http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php5/Sacre...Blades_of_Light

As you can see, the descriptions are relatively easy to do if you have a template, which in this case, has already been provided. We're hoping that there are enough peeps around who have expertise in the different characters that can help.

I'm figuring I'm going to be able to finish putting baseline content in for the seraphim by the end of the week, Schot has started with the battle mage ones, and Mini has just done some work today on the Vampire ones here:

th_vampirewiki.jpg

We're sorely in need of peeps who can help out with the other ones like Wood Elf, Dwarf, Gladiator etc...

The descriptions don't have to be novellas...just points about each CA, like what kind of damage they do, pros and cons, and short writeups of how you use them.

We can use this thread here to report back when CA has been given base information and anyone can then edit that which has already been done, or add to a new one entirely.

Hoping to have some help here, each writeup doesn't take more than about ten minutes, maybe fifteen to twenty if you want to do a detailed one. And in either case, even a sentence or two helps...it all adds up if everyone helps a bit with the project.

Hoping to have inspired ye all with this thread...

Cheers, and to everyone that's helped out so far this database...

Thank you!

Strength of Faith:

Seeing the specific damage that all these Combat Arts does is great for reference, and the small notes everyone is adding are fantastic.

Thanks everyone...we only have about err.. thirty more to go!

:P

Mini you're fast, I just went to recent changes a few minutes ago and your Time Control was already there!

http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php5/Sacred:Time_Control

Mini, if videos interest you and you feel like taking a shot at it, check out the site that Schot uses for videos for the wiki:

http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php5/Sacred:Fireball

He's using Vimeo. They offer a decent "gamey" feel to videos, and they don't make us put too much of their advertising on the videos.

Myles I hear you about how good the database is looking... and in just a few months now too!

And, I just did another Seraphim one:

Combat Jump:

-What kind of damage or percentage to type of protection at first level of rune read

That's brilliant Knuckles, thank you!

lol, my own knowledge of DE's is uber sketchy...great seeing additions made by someone who knows the class.

Actually thought of another project. maybe I should start new thread but I'll throw out the idea and see what you think. Thinking of making a spreadsheet/database that would list all Combat Arts/Spells. Each column would have all skills/attributes/mods. I could show which of these affects which Combat Arts as far as damage and regen

rough example

CA..................................RSM.........RS..........Str...........Dex..

......Weapon Lore.......+xx% Poison......+xx% Fire

Poison Mist.......................Y..............N............N..............Y.........

..........Y.......................Y.....................N

Bot Pit..............................Y..............N............N..............Y...

................Y.......................N.....................Y

Blazing Disc......................N..............Y............N..............N..........

.........N.......................N....................Y

The mods would have more fields and of course it would be a lot neater but thought this might be a handy cross reference for those not familar with either the character class or specific CA/Spell.

edit guess the tabs/spaces didn't work correctly but hopefully you can see what I was trying to do

Lol, I was thinking about that for a few months now! :oooo: I asked a few peeps with help on the table, but never got around to it with all the other projects here.

Knuckles, a spread sheet that would show all the damages and have fields like can be cast on others or not, kind of damage, Area of effect or not...this would have HUGE utility

I was thinking about this just a few days ago when I was thinking that some toons are just better in dif areas than others. Seraphims are SO useful v.s. the undead because all their spells are magical based, with no percentages given to poison. Poison based Combat Arts...SO useful in the VOT...enter the DE ^^

If you put the spread sheet together it would be a snap to find a wiki format for it.

I'm not sure if one spread sheet for all characters would be managaeable, as that would be a lot of fields. Consider making a spread sheet for each class's Combat Arts then?

:)

I would break it up per character and then further by whether it's a CA or Spell/Tech/Trap etc

Been thinking about doing this for quite awhile but never got around to it. I got tons of runes and unskilled toons I can use in Sp/LAN. I can get basic grid going and fill in what I know. I can also make a character pax file that I can pm to any that want to experiment. I can include all types of gear with it. I.e. rings with all mods. Also if anyone knows of a good free program I can use. Guess something like excel would be good too

Good gosh. Very inspiring guys. I think I'll add a bit to a CA or two and then maybe finish off the character set images. Only one and a half characters to go. Woohoo!

P.s.

I would suggest google docs Knuckles. Free and easy to use. I think you need a gmail account though. If you don't have one I can send you an invite.

Excel's probably the best at handling this sort of stuff. You may also want to check out google's online spread sheets. You can invite peeps into each project you do. This is how I started off the Monster resistance tables. Claire, Myles and Schot were all online with me at once, while we all added to the spread sheet. It's sort of spooky seeing stuff just appear like that, but tons of fun with everyone online together doing something like that.

And...

I've just added another two to the Seraphim:

Light

th_light.jpg

Lightning Bolt

th_lightningbolt.jpg

Superb work on the set Brad, they are definitely the best set item pages for Sacred on the net.

Sweet!

Knuckles has already tackled the Dark Elf Combat Arts:

Soulcatcher

Mongoose

PoisonMist

th_poisonmist.jpg

Cobra

th_cobra.jpg

And an new entry on Dwarf:

FlameThrower

th_flamethrower-1.jpg

And Schot's bearing down on finishing up the Armor sets...I'll find that armor set thread somewhere on this site somewhere and put up a pic of what he's done.

I'll try to do another one for the Seraphim tonight.

It's looking good guys

Got a little sidetracked while doing combat art descriptions :)

Right now working on regen/dmg charts and have the DE one basically complete. Hopefully will have on Wiki (with Schot's help) in next day or so with other toons following soon

Tthe chart shows all Combat Arts, skills, attribs, item mods and how they relate to each other in regards to regen and damage. Will get the DE one up and have everyone take a look at and see what you all think. Any comments/suggestions on it will be more than welcome :)

Ah your work on the charts knuckles is truly fantastic. Really love all the side discoveries you came across while doing this. Very cool. :) I'm stiiiill in the process of downloading openoffice. It's quite slow, ugh.

Excellent work Erling. Very very nice. It's great to see these CA pages filled out with great tid bits of info. :)
