  1. At the moment if I press the middle mouse button I can swivel and adjust the viewing angle etc I would prefer if I could set that function to a key on the keyboard Does anyone know is this possible? Thanks ps...also, is there a walk toggle?
  2. Ok guys I will install and be damned Looking forward to another blast of Ancaria I played some Sacred 1 recently and enjoyed it too. it has its own charm; but I definitely prefer Sacred 2 Thanks
  3. I have the GOG version installed and wondering about installing the patch I have never completed the game - not even close tbh - but I keep coming back to it because I really like it I usually gave up because my old rig just didn't run it very well, even though it exceeded the recommended Things would stutter quite a bit in busy places like towns etc I built a new rig at Xmas and loaded up my GOG version and it looks pretty good so far So I will have another run at the game So should I play it vanilla first or with the patch Any opinions welcome Thanks
  4. I realised my error was not to change the chapter using the bookmarks.... Doh! I would delete this if I knew how Perhaps a mod would do that for me Thanks
  5. Oh well c'est la vie sometime progress isnt Thanks Dragon Brother
  6. Looks like Prism's method doesnt work on multicore CPUs I found this in the readme... "Problems with Dual Core Processors: Dual Core CPUs have been released after Sacred and Sacred Gold development so that Ascaron wasn't able to make provisions for those CPU types in time. It does exist one special incompatibilty of Dual Core processors while playing Sacred Gold in LAN mode: Users of those processors will not be able to open an own gameserver in LAN or OpenNet mode bacause that game is not displayed on other computers so that a connection will fail. That problem cannot be fixed anymore, unfortunately."
  7. This will explain http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?/topic/453-sacred-guide-prisms-sp-masterguide/
  8. I read about people having a low level shopper to buy stuff for a current toon But I dont know how to do that in Sacred 1 What I mean is how do I transfer items from one toon to another? Thanks
  9. I want to use Prism's methods of twinking a new toon but I cannot figure out how to start a solo lan game I keep getting "init failed" Sometimes get game "server: up and running"; but the game doesnt start it just stays at that and I have to cancel out How do I begin a lan game on my own computer? Thanks
  10. Two questions.... Does the Community Patch impact performance? Are the Gog and Steam versions identical? Thanks
  11. Ok I will wait until I know if I can handle the orc cave....which I have never reached yet! As I said, I keep starting over. I decided to go with EP first - to hopefully increase the quality of finds/drops for my DM in the early levels. I can't afford to buy anything decent anyway; I'm reliant on what I can find or win during these early levels; I have no supports nor patrons. I am sacrificing damage for protection for now. I'll have to be cautious; I'm playing hardcore. Thanks for your input Chattius How is your new Dragon Mage progressing?
  12. Hi chattius Thanks for the feedback I read through your guides on a previous occasion and I think it was you convinced me to go with pole arms. In the early game the pole arm is my main damage against single enemies - champions etc; and I socket life leech and rph. I think it was also something you wrote that convinced me to go with alchemy this time too? ...or was it Gogo? I must reread your DM guides. I am pleased to see that in your estimation I got the first five skills in the right order! And one of my main wonderings was whether I should get Concentration or Mentalism Focus first. What about Alchemy before MF?
  13. I have fought the kobold chief with a couple of DMs and both times he was no problem (on silver). What weapon are you using?
  14. I have never gotten far with any character. Never finished the game; or even close. I'm a serial beginner Mostly Dragon Mages. I'm thinking of starting a Dragon Mage from scratch; with no support characters; or any other characters of any kind; as if the game is newly installed. think I will allow my charater access to whatever the game provides for a solo character...so I will use shops. Also thinking of both Enhanced Perception and Bargaining (taking EH to generate cash for shopping). And maybe Alchemy ? ? Play hardcore (but archive a save from time to time...just in case) Not sure about Expert Touch. With 3 general skills I wont have a lot of room for multile Combat Arts. I like Mentalism. Might stick with that. Maybe I should take ET? Thinking of taking early skills in this order: Armor Lore Pole Arms Bargaining Mentalism Lore Enhanced Perception ...not sure after that. Any suggestions welcome
  15. Can the Sacred 2 Ice & Blood map with the locations etc like on the Wiki be downloaded? If so could someone point me to it...thanks.
  16. I hope you will continue to post reports about this character. I am considering a dragon mage hardcore for a playthrough. I have a couple at level 10. I like the notion of playing only with what is won from the world - not shopping etc. Not sure if enhanced perception is worth it... I get quite good drops without it. Other more experienced players may have some advice:) PS...didnt realise I was replying to an experienced player
  17. Decided to put them in order: Which is the best over all character in Sacred 2, in your opinion? 1. Seraphim (22 votes [37.93%]) 2. Shadow Warrior (12 votes [20.69%]) 3. Dryad (9 votes [15.52%]) 4. Temple Guardian (8 votes [13.79%]) 5. Dragon Mage (3 votes [5.17%]) 6. High Elf (2 votes [3.45%]) 6. Inquisitor (2 votes [3.45%]) Which is the most POWERFUL character in Sacred 2, in your opinion? 1. Seraphim (23 votes [39.66%]) 2. Dryad (9 votes [15.52%]) 2. High Elf (9 votes [15.52%]) 2. Shadow Warrior (9 votes [15.52%]) 3. Temple Guardian (4 votes [6.90%]) 4. Dragon Mage (3 votes [5.17%]) 5. Inquisitor (1 votes [1.72%])
  18. I'm running the Steam version with the CM patch and it runs better on my Core2duo system than my cd version did. Hope you will enjoy
  19. Yes it seems I did put my comment about the Sacred Tool in the wrong place. Not sure how I managed that. Maybe had a few threads open at the time. There is so much info on this forum I do get lost in it. Brilliant resource for Sacred. Apologies
  20. Yes. In Windows 7 (I believe you mentioned that you had that), you go to the Saved Games folder under your personal UserID, and go into the Ascaron Entertainment\Sacred 2 folder. You can also go directly there by way of c:\Users\[userid]\Saved Games\Ascaron Entertainment\Sacred 2\ You'll find files like Chest.sacred2chest and a bunch of files that are called something like Hero01.sacred2save and Hero01.sacred2stats. The chest file is the shared chest that's common to all characters. It's also your trophy case where your achievements are kept. Copy all files from that location to whatever external media you want. All single player and local LAN multiplayer and Open-Net game files are saved there. You say the common chest file also stores achievements. If I wanted to start over and reset achievements to zero.....? How would I do that? (I just got the Steam version on sale, and it runs better than my previous cd version but I didnt remove the old saves before installing it.)
  21. I just had the Sacred Tool scanned by an online service that uses multiple scanners... Most returned a positive; a few didnt. Here are some of the descriptions... Trojan.Generic.9363263 Win32:Downloader-TOU PUA.Win32.Packer.Upx-53 Win32/Packed.Autoit.C.Gen Worm.Win32.AutoIt So...:)
