  1. I respond to cleverness, or else make my own (sometimes) feeble efforts at it. Sharing ideas is the main thing. Besides, "lurker" has such an awful sound to it - I wouldn't ever want to be one.
  2. Yeah, but . . . the first time gogo invited me here, he said he had BEER. Besides, I try to turn cookies off in my browser whenever possible. I think the quantity (and quality) of response this generated has sealed my fate. I had no understanding of . . .the . . . power . . . of . . . the . . . Dark . . . Side . . . Luke can take his path, but I've been lured beyond my ability to resist. Application will be forthcoming shortly.
  3. Yes, that's right - Rumpelstiltskin from the story - who tore himself in half when the maiden guessed his name. That's what I need to do now. Every time I meet up with gogo, schot, et al, I get ready to make the jump to apply for full FDM clan membership, then Rotluchs or Thorin come along and intrigue me with clan DA. A one hit dragon kill by a level 1 char -- man what a crazy idea.
  4. No photo, but I graduated from Harvey Mudd College near Los Angeles CA. Edit: pics by gogo -- thanks a million for 'em A small (401 total at the time) tech school. Some say the campus looked like a computer - all straight lines - hehe. One of the "Claremont Colleges" - Pomona is proably the most famous of the bunch.
  5. My brain is falling out. I have no idea where this is from
  6. E. T. phone home. -- Obviously from "ET The Extraterrestrial"
  7. For the WE, if you stay away from really bad mobs, you can get away with just 1 ms rune and skip the pa. I'd prefer ms + explode arw, as arielfi suit armor adds much to xa. I play essentially this we all the time - I've read 3 runes: ms, pa and xa. level 85 and climbing. I give away over 100 runes a week, easily. for farming, do the quests, as many as you can. Runes are common rewards. The only problem with a different class farmer is that often the reward seems to be class specific -- e.g wolfseye in Bellevue. about 90% of the time I get a we rune, often 2. I've got my bib overalls on and am plowin' the south 40 for ya gogo -- I'm in gold most of the time so just pop in and I'll pass on a coupla bales 'o hay fer ye -- hehe
  8. I knew dieing at 98 was a mistake, but I did it anyway. Jeez, I really miss you guys. Hope to catch up to you in plat in another week or two -- just please wait there and don't go running off to niobium when you hear my footsteps.
  9. There are circumstancxes where you can arrange the arraignment other than by appearing. You may be able to mail (or perhaps even email) your intent to contest, or possibly telephone the clerk of the court; and thereby get a court date set without appearing first. This is not always possible, however. Also, as Ike said, you may not have a defense to rebut the officers' testimony, but if they don't show, they cannot testify. If they issued a great many such tickets, I would expect that the officers may not appear in court at all -- their main purpose was to be a visible presence to deter your criminal activity (lol). If several cited pedestrians contest the charges, it would be many hours or possibly even a few days in court; not likely for such petty offenses.
  10. I don't know Canadian law very well (in fact not at all, really), but in the US, and most countries based upon English Law, there is (supposedly) a presumption of innocence and a right to confront your accuser. I would expect that you have the opportunity to get a court date and contest the charges. If so, (again here in the US), and the policeman were not to appear nor testify in the case, you would win by default. Probably more than 10 bux of your time, but it's a principle involved.
  11. I've been around too long. Don't recognize most of Indy's list -- I just listen to AC/DC Metallica and Black Sabbath. Got hooked in college a lifetime ago. Back then, metal kind of meant lots of loud guitar, so I guess Scorpions and UFO would fit some too. (Gotta love Frau Schenker's boys!)
  12. The SIF thread was alpha, and by the time I fbetic, and by the time I got homew from work, Sil had moved us up to Y, I believe, so these never made it in: R A Dwarf with rabid persistence Played Sacred with zero resistance "Makes no difference to me! I'm a trader, you see! He'd say with forceful insistence S A conjurer by the name of Shaddar His grasp exceeded his reach, by far With all of his schemin' He conjured a demon And upon Ancaria left quite a scar T Twin dragons lie in await In Tyr-Fasul, by the stone gate With one blow of their breath Winter's Rigor -- Frosted Death Will quite quickly seal your fate This happened to me last night -- gogo invited me over for a beer, so I found it appropriate to post today. Thanks for the suds, gogo -- see you in game soon Ihope
  13. Here's a thought - an impartial 3rd party selects a random char and runs it up to level 12 (for the skill available there) without selecting any skills/attributes. The char is exported as a prototype for both players to work from. Even-Steven start, so your skill building from the available material and your skill playing decide all. Maybe 5 minutes or so on Haven to shop/smith/combo before the action starts.
  14. Or carry a bow. Any time enemies are "in range", your ring lights up and SB is increasing. Hard not to have anyone in range with a bow on.
  15. Hey I had no idea! HBD gogo. I had the perfect present for you -- about a dozen really good fire rings all 150+ dmg. Ill need to get them again, though -- they're gone.
  16. I replied on SIF, too. Blizzard called the one life toons in Diablo II "hard core". Think it carried over.
  17. At the very least, if you are partied, they drop to another member of your party -- I picked up the sheep from Silearth last night when he was playing with this and left the game. Not sure what happens if you are not in a party, though.
  18. Credit me with very little. There was so much fire going around I couldn't see to target my bow very well. Maybe I took out 3 or 4 in the 4 rushes we made. Three levels in a few minutes was amazing. What is Hetman using? He just mowed 'em down like they were piñatas. I can use exploding arrow to one hit a lot of foes (one at a time), but he one-hit about 10 at a time. Fantastic afternoon. (evening for you and Hetman)
  19. Can't believe it! -- Gintukas in Stillwater, MN. Me too, on the north hill near the public library.
  20. Highlander has me by 2 years. DDE was already inaugurated whan I was born. Willie Mays made "The Catch" in the World series that year (off Vic Wertz of Cleveland Indians) -- probably the only year the Yanks didn't get to the series. BTW year of the horse comes along every 12 years, so Indy13 could be several ages. I may be a horse, but maybe not, since I was born right around the Chinese New year. By western calendar, I'm a horse. edit: Oops I misread that. Indy was quoting Anessty, so Anessty is a horse.
  21. Think everyone is spot on -- the power supply fan is usually the loudest noismaker in the case. Sounds like it needs help. Open and clean is a good idea for regular pm (I should follow my own advice and do that to mine tomorrow)
  22. Good q's. I pickup all the money unless im in a party that's rushing through -- then only the close money. After all, I have to honor the golden boots I got from gogo. Had another toon with over 40 million -- I gradually stopped picking up the smaller piles -- first 1500, then 2000, etc. Think I was at about 4000 when I stopped playing her ( that's when I discovered how to go HC). Too bad the undead die for good the first time in MP, so my answer there is mostly hypothetical, as I rarely play SP anymore, but in SP I always get the skulls!
  23. With drops like that, dark mart will very soon be out of business! Was really fun to see the action today. Super
