  1. Hi The Lag issue: Orla creates huge lag. Thats for sure. The amount of lag is based on several factors. #1, How many people are on the server and what stuff they use. If there are (lets say) 4 more ppl on and no one is using other lag making devices (Orla, Fad, ICONS, Chance to drop gold, spider arrows .etc) the lag isnt unbearable. #2, The type of monsters you are against and the difficulty of the server. If you are against non magic resistant creatures with lower hit points (lower difficulty) Orla could make short work on them - so not much lag. But if they have more HP or they resists magic damage Lag will start accumulating. #3, How many split you have. This is one of the most important factors. Since almost everyone uses split no one likes to accept the fact that split IS the biggest Lag creator in game. Combine split with Orla and huge lag is guaranteed. How orla works: Orla gives a % amount to trigger its sparks (the % raises with each difficulty). Each time you damage the enemy (with any means) you have a chance to release some sparks. The most diabolical thing in Orla is the fact that its own sparks can trigger newer volley of sparks The more sparks are needed to drawn on the screen the more the lag would be. High split and enemy resistance (+high hp) increases the time thoose sparks are on the screen so increasing lag even more. No matter an ORLA build could be funny - FOR A SHORT TIME. IMHO later it turns deadly boring + its very easy to build a char based on Orla or fad. back to your ideas: Overall its pretty good but I will forget parry and take riding instead. Parry isnt too useful for a LHW seraphim - the defense it provides are too small IMHO. Riding (with 25 point) enables you to use the Heavy War Horse what is the best thing for a mounted char. The HP bonus you gain from that clearly overweights the puny defense bonus parry could provide
  2. Hi Watching the first episode of Berserk (which is the last in the timeline) it wasnt hard to predict the ending. The Anime version ends with part 26 but the manga continues till today. If you can try to get them - they are really worth.

  6. Hi Obs: You made some very valid points. I tried to take everything in consideration and I got this idea because I dont really see any other way to get the event or an another event to higher lvls. Just a few thoughts to your observations: #1, If you take a char (lets say an unskilled level 75 one) then stick to it till it dies the emotional link to the character could be estabilished. This way we dont need to pick new chars every time. Of course I like the idea better to play with my own char - and no one is forced to use any downloaded char - but as I see the population of such an event wont be high enough because the level requirements. #2, Most of thoose chars I saw have different equipment in their stash. The best char sets (I downloaded some to testing purposes) <from a german site > came with all the associated sets (full) to the specific char. So equipment problems would be not that great problem. OK simply the clothes arent enough but we can export our toons and mule jewelry from them. When the chars gain level the lower level stuff will turn outdated and new stuff could be found. IMHO this is still better than play your own toon till level 89, equip the brand new armor what is waiting to be used and use it till 10 min while the event lasts. Then forget the char because next even will be bronze. BTW: Going to plat with level 75 chars with full sets - but just sets - buying all the required ammys and rings IS a real challange. (not impossible but challenging). The main problem with this of course are the runes. Maybe we could get a full inventory of runes to each participants to change to what she/he desires. #3, HC is about the danger the thrill. Killing goblins could be fun but constantly fighting weaker opponents to ensure that we stay alive goes against the meaning of HC in my eyes. Sacred is such a huge place and there are a lot of funny places. Why dont visit more of thoose places? #4, Well OPEN is a an area outside my experiences so I take Obs word that there isnt HC there. But as #3 playing total safe HC or playing open SC with HC attitude makes for me small difference. If someone dies simply delete or not use that char for the event <--- almost like HC. #5, Maybe this open thing wasnt a good idea after all. All I did was simply thinking loudly.   7. Hi! Last sunday finally I was able to cath the kamikaze event - hehe it was great Fun! Laggy a bit but FUN! Only thing I cant really accept is the coming reset and the ideas keeping that kamikaze event under the "real" Sacred experience. (hehe I mean plat and niob) I know (pretty easy to understand) that as the lvls go higher the amount of participants lessen because of the greater requirements. So I think we should come out with a solution. Please understand that I am not trying to say that Kamikaze sundays arent good enough at the current state they are (or with the plans for the future). I am just trying to add a few ideas to possibly make it even better. Now back to my idea: What if we would try OPEN for the next event? Just for trying it out. I know its not closed or HC (altrough I think we could start HC at OPEN too) but there would be great benefits we could use for our advantage. #1, as far as I know at open there are slightly less LAG. (that would be great on its own) #2, at OPEN we could have endless opportunities considering the chars. - export your own toon: if you would like to stick to your own toon export and play with him/her at the event. MUCH MORE important: If you dont have the time to prepare your toon for a plat Kamikaze Event you can simply Download a char of the type you want to play. There are a ton of unskilled downloadable chars (no ability or skill points spent). With them its easy to create (in much much lesser time) the char you would like to play. This way all we have is pure fun and participants at the exact same level (well at start at least) and the ability to play at plat or niob without weeks of preparation and constant fear of loosing that precious char. To recreate the HC feeling we can simply start the game at OPEN HC or if thats not possible (honestly I am not sure ... I never ever played at open) simply ignore or delete the char after he/she died (if he/she dies). There are a great variety of downloadable toons. I saw level 25/50/75/100/150 even level 200 ones. They are mostly unskilled chars leaving all the possible builds open for us. As last words I need to state some things: Playing on Open is very far away from my playing style and I would never consider it IF all this wouldnt involve you guys. Sadly playing bronze and silver over and over is simply not for me. (just to mention that I dont have enough space on my accounts to do so) I really think we should at least try this idea (not necessary on the official Kamikaze Sunday time) and see its usefulness. yours truly, Csaszar

  9. Hi We got responses to the lag issue before stating LAG is created at the client side. (ok I know thats the very very short version) But as myles said Sacred is running years now and never was it that laggy as nowadays. An interesting point: at the client side less player and (gnerally) better PCs. I am wondering: did Ascaron upgraded their PCs (servers)? One thing is sure there is much less server than before (naturally because of the less population).
  10. Hi Dont forget: Parry skill gives a bonus % when used together with a shield. Parry increases base defense and such its one of the best defensive ability. When parry increases your base defense then any added % defense modifier will increase it further. With another words: if a Glad cast his Heroic courage he will see a huge difference in his defense rating depending on having or not having parry. The parry skill is best used with a shield and a CA which boosts defense trough XX% (like HC, Adrenalin, War Cry).
  11. Mistress of the (D.a.r.k.) Woods I read trough the build section of FDM regarding of the Wood Elf and we have a nice collection there . I really like wood elves so no matter how many guides we have I will add mine too. I will try to summarize one of my chars - a hybrid WE. Concept When playing with a hybrid char we still need to choose a part is (at least) a little stronger - CA type or SPELL type. (in theory you stay even between the two sides but choosing one will lead greater efficiency) My char -and this build - is weighted toward the CA like abilities with a strong Magical support. I wouldnt advise going the other way (altrough its is possible) because of the synergies this we has and the opportunities she could utilize. The ranger based WE could use support magic easily while a magic based WE dont really need the ranged support. (if your magic we cant kill something with her spell arsenal with ease the bow wont help her either) Key features of this builds are: #1 Ettol bow #2 Megs set #3 and a strict skill selection Abilities With my WE I put all points into Phys regen. Alternatives could be Dexterity and Mental Regen but I am against them. You will use your CAs most of the time so the extra regen (and the HP bonus) will be the most useful effect you can choose. Skills Weapon Lore - Concentration - Ranged Lore - Constitution - Armor - Agility - Magic Lore - Moon Magic I know this is a strict selection and not allowing to take some skills (for example trading or parry) but belive me - its honed trough experience Most of the time I am against taking Trading skill. (it could be useful ofc but its usefulness is very limited and only a few builds need the skill really. one or two trader char is quite enough to support all your other chars) This Elf simply doesnt need Trade to pick. Almost all her equipment slots would be occupied with the Megs set leaving Gloves and the jewelry free. For glove you will use as soon as possible Tadriels gloves (the absolutely best glove for a WE) and for jewelry any other char could shop. Altrough Agility could seem expendable - its needed to get that little attack and defense AG provides. Moon Magic. It was hard to choose between Moon Magic and Meditation but at the end Moon Magic had the more pros at his side. Altrough Meditation provides much more regeneration for spells than Moon Magic but it doesnt shortens the casting time. Casting as fast as possible is a very important factor here. Secondly our tactic uses so called "duration spells" and spell regen is a lesser importance because of this. (more of this later) other skills are pretty obvious Combat Arts At this part you have the freedom to choose what CAs you want to prefer. Its already written in other great guides so I wont really list all the options. Basicly cast multiple shot then either Explosive arrows HH or Penetraing Arrow. I found Attack useful too in some situations. Ofc any other alternatives mentioned in the other ranger WE guides are useful. Spells This build will use extensively 3 spells: COTA and QAAF and Companion of the Woods. COTA is your damage/leech shield against the brave but fool enemies who come close to you. Also really useful to finish off quickly the split created enemies around you. QAAF will provide speed (the least useful for you) and AR (main bonus). At higher lvls you could find yourself short in AR - at least if you dont use regulary Multi hit. MH greatest weakness is the extreemely short 20 sec duration. I found myself many times rebelling against MH because of this and at that times the extra AR QAAF provides is invaluable. Companion of the Woods is an excellent meat shield. With relative low rune investion you could get it pretty high level. High level means more urability. Equipment Now we reached a critical part of this build. This build requires several sets to reach its true potential namely: Full Ettol Set: Without argues the best bow (regarding damage) for a ranged WE. We use one more feature = the synergy with COTA. COTA is mainly phys based damage and Ettol reduces the enemies phys resistances so BINGO. Your bow damage is increased AND COTA damage is increased at the same time. Megs: Altrough low at resistance side it provides the snow damage bonus and excellent bonus to the spells you will use. Megs doesnt mounts bonuses to ranged combat but in my opinion the usefulness of this set overweights the cons. Ranged WE has overall high damage and Megs amplifies it. Tadriels Glove: IMHO the best gauntlets for WE. It has 3 sockets!! + MF +high boost to ranged lore and other nifty bonuses. Moon Amulet of the Wise: If you could get your hands on it DO it! This amulet has bonus to mental regen and the spells qwe use. Splendid. Various jewelry: ammys and rings. Choosing the Megs set leaves you with relative low resists and no real bonuses to ranged combat. Tadriels glove helps with this (ranged combat) but you will need to provide the missing stuff from ammys and rings. Altrough this is not impossible but not easy either. If you have other chars who support your WE its much easyer though. Theobits ring: Bonus to dex, phys/magic damage, XX% damage trough Mental regen and bonus to all CA (+11 at max level). Dream about this ring long after it and if you get one hold to it. Even a lower level Theobit ring is useful because of its nice and many bonuses. Main concern here is damage and AR. While defense is important Wood Elves doesnt have any CA to boost it. At niob - no matter how you try - you wont be able to have high enough defense to depend on it so we will neglect it to get even more damage. While damage/leech combo is a working way to keep you alive certainly not the safest method As Gogo would say: not for the feint hearted. But if you do it right (with some luck) you will kill most of your enemies at range and CTA will make short work on the others. Where to play Until Gold (maybe plat) VOT is your best place to level and play. You will be stunned only a few times and you could manage to reach one hit kills (I had one hit kills). Zhurag nar is also a nice place to run around. I hope you find this guide useful and if you try this one (or elements from the build idea) you will find it funny and useful. Csaszar
  12. Hi Imagine how nice it would be to merge some server to incrase Sacred online population! Together with the Italian and spanish guys we would have a lot more constant players I know there would be some technical and other issues regarding this and that it wouldnt happen in the future but no matter - the idea sounds fine! (atm)

  15. Hi Thanks Guys and Gals!! The best thing in all that I always open FDM site first so I read about the winning here and not on SIF. It was quite a warm feeling to see how many of you replied to the thread Gogo started. Of course this is not only my accomplishment - I had many people who helped me a lot! To name a few: JimmyP with all his tireless Dwarven MF socketing (at least 5 times ) and our own lady ERIALC who sacraficed her playing time to help me mule things over and over. From the first time I joined our clan to this day I felt myself honored to be in this excellent company and I know I wil feel the same in the future. I consider this contest as an opportunity to repay a little for you for all the warm welcome and fantastic time I had/have with you! your friend, Csaszar
  16. Hi Even with a necromancer Vampiress build you cant neglect melee attacks. Yes the first kill or better said the "first kills" is important. I recommend you do a very high level combo with HH or Attack. Both CA can be raised pretty high just with item bonuses so it could be a good way to reach high enough damage. Blood bite could be useful at the neginning but IMHO will be useless when monsters reach really high hp. You cant simply raise BB to high enough damage.

Magic seraphim on top of a horse - a pretty fine combination! Rotating energy blades and flashing light pillars from the sky. 216 - (D.a.r.k.) Csaszar - Daemon Disk demon. I created her to appear on the ladder. Later old chars showed on the ladder so now I have her as well: 216 - Lorgar's (D.a.r.k.) Sister - Daemon Another disk demon. A previous one. Now she is my "Jack of all trades" demon. Trying out the different forms. If I would have enough time I would play her but... 216 - Csaszar THE (D.a.r.k.) Elf - Dark Elf The first HC char who reached 216 among my toons. Pretty strong - as a Dark Elf should be - and a very good magic finder. (according to the used gear insane damage, att/def, MF) 205 - (D.a.r.k.) W o u n d w e a v e r - Gladiator Dual Wield Attack AND Annhilator HH. 204 - Csaszar Got a GUN - Dwarf Dual purpose Ranged/Axe. 196 - Csaszar of the (D.a.r.k.) Elves - Dark Elf My invisible assasin. One of my fav char. He is the founder and the main supporter of the "Dark Elf Liberation Army". 196 - Charlotte Newton of the (D.a.r.k.) - Vampiress My Unorthodox Vampire build is based on her. Highly succesful and extreemly high damage char. Really very high damage 179 - Heavenly Device of Mass Destruction - Seraphim She is a retired magic seraphim who serves my hideous schemes as a mule and storage. 171 - (D.a.r.k.) Avatar of the Goddess - Seraphim Dual purpose Sword/shield and BFG. She isnt a true widder but surpisingly durable with pretty nice damage. Do I already mention that I love Seraphims? 164 - Artillery Sergeant (D.a.r.k.) Csaszar - Dwarf Artillery and flamethrower with occasional cannon shots. And a lot of Greed 148 - Druidess of the (D.a.r.k.) Woods - Wood Elf Pure magic Wood Elf. She is my newest (atm) toon who reached niob. Pretty much fun. 140 - Morgwath of the Dark Elves - Dark Elf A niob/plat/gold mule - solely created for muling purposes. I have 3 more chars but they are still little childrens . A BM*** (100) a Mule Daemon (100) and a ranger WE (124). (If my BM survives - where my other BMs failed - you will hear more of him!) * Chars without Clan sign are the chars I dont really play anymore and I dont plan to play them either. * To free up space I deleted some absolutely not used niob chars - who of course arent mentioned here.   18. Hi Gogo: Ever tried or considered a BFG seraphim? If not then I strongly suggest you try it! Any LHW build is a good base to build her. BFG uses LHW for speed purposes so if you already have it theres no need to reconfigure too much. Give it a try. I have a close melee sword/shield AND BFG compatible girl at 171 and she is taking enemies out pretty nice with BFG. If you plan to try her I can give a little advice (not a too big idea though ): Give her a 3 socketed shield and a 3 (or 4 if yer lucky) sword filled with either +1 all ca ammys or BFG runes. Thats a nice way to boost her BFG a bit and because the weapon(s) will be replaced temporary with that BFG spear. Around your level a good level BFG is a mean killer You should definitely try! CS.
