  1. Glad to hear the flooding has stopped. Had to google map rehoboth beach delaware... And then I learned something (elementary for USians): Philadelphia is not inland! 2 lessons in one day... at this rate I'll become a genius!
  2. Or... you ONLY broke your collar bone! Could've been your neck!! Things could be much much worse Timo!! Here's hoping things improve.
  3. Looks to me like you're well on your way to being a drawing artiste as well as a web one.
  4. I find I really like that song too. Is it part of Sacred2? Or was it just a lucky choice on her part?
  5. Nice to see you to KL. By the way...before you... the only thing KL meant to me was Kuala Lumpur... Now it means you first. Belated (late) Welcome!
  6. Given what happened to Heath Ledger...I feared the worst when I saw this. Matthew Broderick is quite well, and gainfully employed according to IMDB. *Phew!* Wipes brow.
  7. gogo this is about 3 weeks early. tap. tap. tap. I'm thinking that this was an automatically generated text link... by...cue the suspense music... SPAMMERS! ...
  8. Sorry to hear of your loss. But it is HC afterall... This probably isn't be news to you, but here goes anyways: I found that the passage has an area right against the wall where the shocks don't reach. Not so good for WD (unless you go down there in bronze to get the charged side of the wall). The toon looks like it is in the ball of lightning...but it is not. So, there is a "safe" way to traverse the corridor after all. (Course I only tried this once will unlocking SP difficulties with my high level Daemon. So maybe it's not repeateable... but maybe it is.).
  9. If you're interested in Board Games... the place to be is BoardGameGeek. They review them, they make new rules, they make new game pieces, they even have their own convention once or twice a year... The place to when you want to know what has good rules/great graphics/is fun/is cheap/is big/is small...etc... I just thought I'd mention it since someone started talking about Risk (the Board Game) here. Oh...and I think they led me to "Wizard's Quest" the 'online' version. (Just computer version).
  10. Welcome! Hope you enjoy your stay and find out lots about Sacred. By the way... Dred did make a few videos... seen 'em yet?
  11. Hmm. I'm thinking of exporting one my high level toons in all 8 slots. And then making some SP or Open death tests. And tests... and tests... Just to see if high SB does alter in any way your chance of butterflies and resurrection... or butterflies and knocked out... or if SB is just what it says it is: a bonus for the toon for being alive for so long... (and a bonus to magic find). Now...will this desire last until I can get my paws on my Sacred game?...
  12. That state of still playing but character marked as dead in HC can occur. It is rare. And I believe a bug. I had it happen to me. The char had high % life leech. And yes, it was dead on the next login. Most often, I get the knocked out (butterflies over the head) or just plain DEAD. Twice my character has died in HC to become somehow a SC character. Bugs happen. Take advantage of it or don't. It is a rare occurance.
  13. One thing to remember in your XP gain quest: Proximity of party members increases the xp on its own. Don't forget in your tests to test 1) no party 2) party of 2, but not near 3) party of 2, near (on same screen at 2nd view setting) 4) sunglasses, no party 5) sunglasses, party of 2, but not near 6) sunglasses, party of 2, and near. From these 6 states you should be able to tell what is going on... Then, you need to add 7) sunglasses, party of 3, far 8) sunglasses, party of 3, same screen Without all of these states covered you can't tell what each variable in the forumla is doing.
  14. I cringe at the cost of their last few days...bandwidth stretched to the max as all their content providers pulled GBs out of them. Youch!
  15. I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I find I do the same thing, with the same results. That is: I work VoT in Silver, or Gold or Plat and then jump to VoT in the next highest level of difficulty without investing time in upgrade to the new difficulty level's armour, without updating (and boosting) my combos from the exhaustive shopping in the new difficulty level, and without SP practice (for Niob). Further, playing at lower level of challenge within the new level of difficulty hasn't happened either. This will get you set items at the new difficulty level. So, we should learn this: 1) Shop like crazy to update your combos 2) Update your runes read (if you're reading runes) 3) Update your combos 4) Practice in the less challenging areas of the new difficulty level. (vs undead is ideal..as they are slow {for that difficulty level!}) 5) gather set items for this difficulty level... ...THEN goto a more challenging area in the new difficulty level... ...THEN goto VoT. *exhales sharply* Words to live by!
  16. I'm betting the red puff for each hit was Life Leech. That's my bet. And I'm sticking to it. (guess made without insider info).
  17. Yup, some software developers are evil. But, I also sympathize a bit. Folks gotta eat. Folks gotta feed and clothe their kids. Revenue stream has to exist somehow. Just some choices are better than others...
  18. Looks cool..but why would you burn yourself? I think maybe the name underneath might not convey Erling BBQ to go!
  19. 10) Invest in a defensive CA. For example, Dread for the Daemon should drastically reduce her chance of being hit. The Dwarf has Dwarven Armour. The Battle mage can negate melee damage with Circle of Fear... Sometimes preventing dangerous situations is the way to go... which follows on 9) above. If the enemy is dead quickly, then they don't get to launch their special attacks.
  20. Hm.. your post time is 3:19 PM my time... would be 11:19 PM in Macedonia? I fear you'd need to stay a minimum of 2 hours more to see me online... and I'm an early North American! I *might* be able to be online 6 hours from now... for about an hour. Probably will play in bronze with my Daemon (replacing my level 157 Daemon that died on Saturday). My new Daemon is level 25 IIRC...so she'll be in bronze. HC. Public server.
  21. I have 2 or three characters parked at 140 (mules/xp boosters). My characters that are higher than that die soon after entering Niob. Niob is deadly. I get overconfident. My toons get deaded. I'm so eager to enter Niob that I forget that I can keep playing in the lower difficulties --though there are xp penalties for sandbagging. The lower level difficulties are just safer. Or...if I do enter and stay in Niob from 140 on... I can play in Ancarian and/or earlier sections of the game that are simply put: less dangerous. I voted in this poll: I always die in Niob. 'Cause it is too hard for my current skill level. But like the "dead guy on the plague cart in Monty Python and the Holy Grail", I'll get better!
  22. Advice I've been given to survive Niobium 1) Upgrade your armour --weak resists is bad... you ARE going to get hit! And with CAs too. 2) Tune your armour to the area you're going to fight in. (High resist for expected damage types) 3) You can't count on exploits like the Bear Cave and the Nuk Nuk Chieftains having a 0% chance to hit mounted adventurers. So: play nice! 4) The game puts the brakes on for leveling beyond level 100. That is, after 100, each level is harder and harder to attain. You need to swap out the gear that has been keeping you alive and swap in +experience gear. Or you'll take forever to level. 5) Levels 206 to 216 require you to explore as much of the map as you can. If you keep your exploring to a minimum, your ability to level up will be severely cut down. 6) DE, BM, Vamp, seraphim, Glad and seraphim can all have their CAs/Spells boosted significantly by shopping for armour. Not so the other classes (Dwarf and Daemon). The first 6 can take advantage of combos to have a powerful level CA/spell x 4. 7) New to Niob? Don't go to VoT! Start out in a proven hunting ground. Before going to VoT have a strategy to deal with Hell Golems (their Magic Melee damage with a Hard Hit can cause HUGE damage), Infernal Daemons (the Plant Cagers that root you in place) the 'pods (Their CA/Spell stop timers can kill). Have a strategy in place before you meet them. They now will use their special abilities more frequently, and with higher levels (thus more powerful results). Any other tips from the experts?---What I'm looking to do here is squeeze out of the Niob players the things they no longer think about. Things that ingrained into them and have dropped from their conscious minds. Things... that would help those of us who don't know them yet...
