  1. I don't know if it's "for real" or not. That's why I'm asking.
  2. I try to periodically visit the Official Sacred 2 International forum at http://forum.sacred2.com/ but when I went there just now I got a Server not found error. Does anyone know for sure if this site is actually down permanently or just down for maintenance?
  3. I just checked the Kickstarter page for the new project and it was cancelled yesterday. I'm more concerned that Unbended seems to have also been placed on hiatus.
  4. I am in the middle of changing my teaching forum over to a more generic site. I have listed this forum for anyone looking for similar information. Some of the "Internal" links don't work yet because I haven't transferred over the databases yet. Dark Matters reference
  5. I have decided to transfer as much as I can to my old teaching website. I will "re-purpose" it to be more for general gaming/computer discussion and will transfer the new forums as well. That will allow me to keep the content we worked so hard to transfer from the Wildtangent forum. Just wish I could find some way to send out an email to all current account holders letting them know the new location. I will probably search on the phpbb website to see if any such Mods exist already.
  6. Hopefully that won't be for a good long while yet.
  7. I will be closing the Wildtangent Fansite (WFS) down on October 25, 2016. Prior to that, I will be transferring any useful assets over to my old teaching website PCTalk. I will attempt to change the old website so it can hopefully become a hub for general computer and game discussion. If anyone in here has any interest in the old Fate Series of games you might want to copy everything you can before the WFS site goes down ... just in case.
  8. Thank you. I think I will have to do that. The only problem is, I will also have to turn automatic updates off or it will just reinstall the same thing all over again.
  9. I was in the middle of my 5th or 6th play through of Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas when I started up my 64-bit Windows 10 system to continue. First thing, it let me know there was an update waiting, so, like a fool, I let it install. When the restart had finished, I tried to play the two games mentioned above only to find they no longer worked! Anyone have any workable suggestions to get them to work again? I have tried compatibility mode multiple times but nothing listed works. The problem is, the games were installed from disk and have several Mods installed that I don't want to do without. Having said that, I even tried playing a virgin game with the same results.
  10. I preferred his Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein. Willie was a little too sugary for me ...
  11. Greetings, hope you find everything you need here.
  12. What a bunch of idiots! I think the Darwin Awards reference is spot on. I just hope none of my grandchildren get caught.
  13. Our dog is a Chihuahua/Terrier mix. She's getting on for 13 years old now, has gone deaf, seems to have trouble seeing or smelling her treats, and sometimes misses steps going up or down our back porch. I have a feeling she doesn't have much time left. Here's an old picture of her shortly after we rescued her: There is a dog picture on the Internet being followed by an elephant and ours looks just like it.
  14. I'm only in touch with three of my previous students of all those I've taught. One is in worse financial straights than I am. The other two are old enough they have trouble using a computer, much less maintaining an extensive website. I will always have the website in one form or another, as I have multiple copies of it. It just won't be accessible to anyone who may want to have access to the data. Like I said, the Sacred/Sacred 2 information will eventually be moving to another host, it's mainly the FATE game Mods that will no longer be publicly available. I will still have access but no one else will. Also the Mod history contained in the forum will go away.
  15. I already have a new home for the Sacred 2 information. I just wish I could find a good home for the rest of the game information. [Added] Just checked out Sorcerer's Place and it looks like a good deal with one minor problem ... advertising. I set my sites up on my own dime because I hate having to fight advertising on other sites and didn't want my users to have to do the same on my sites. Also, once hosted on Sorcerer's Place, you aren't allowed to place any other advertising or reciprocal links to other sites ... another thing that I allow on my site. I have a feeling that the game information contained on my PCTalk site will eventually just go away due to lack of interest.
  16. Looks interesting. Will have to try the site next time I have my PC running. I'm on my iMac right now and it uses an ATI Radeon HD 5670 512 MB GPU. [Added] Hmm, they may have had actual demos when this was first posted but they only have Trailers now. After seeing some of them I really think I need to hook my PC up to my TV upstairs so I can see all the detail.
  17. I have been playing an interesting game online called Magoia. Their basic medium of real life exchange is the "Water Lilly". You need Water Lillies to speed up things, buy extra resources, etc and can purchase them for real money. I have so far refused, as I usually do, to exchange my real money for what boils down to a resource sucking few moments of entertainment. They do have an interesting concept and I thought some in here might be interested. If you go to: https://us.magoia.com/?userServerId=s1&userId=8021 and make it to level 10, I will get extra resources. If you just go to: https://us1.magoia.com/ You can see what it's all about and even create your own account without referencing me in any way. Just remember to conserve your Water Lillies if you decide to play!
  18. You're both partially correct. Less expensive hosting would make it easier to bear but I need something more than flat hosting. I'm also sad because I put so much personal work into the site and now it's collecting cobwebs. I meant it to be something useful but nobody, even my former students, seem to care. If I can farm off the important information to good, stable homes, I can probably let the rest go with little or no qualms. The biggest problem right now is that there are literally GB of important information that I am hosting for others. It needs to be handled with tender, loving care.
  19. Just upgraded the Blog on my old teaching website. It makes me wonder why I bother. I'm sure no one has even bothered to visit since I stopped teaching back in (July?) 2006. I have been keeping it "alive" mainly in the hope that I could teach again. If so, I would have a valid use for the website. There is some specific game related information that is stored on it that I agreed to host from other gamers. But that will get transferred to someone else soon, so I can delete it from my website. I have posts in my forum about my parents that I created to show them and ask for their input. It never happened; they died before seeing anything. I have a lot of basic student websites I'm hosting from when I taught basic HTML but finally locked out any outside (student or other) changes when some spammer attacked and added spam scripts to the index files at the beginning of all the sites. I cleaned up the trash, set the sites back to their original condition and finally changed the file accesses so that only I had change access. Most of the information links are most likely out of date. It would require me to manually revisit each and make a programming data change to the page displaying the links. I would appreciate it if I could get input that would help me to decide on keeping the website or finally putting it out of its misery. The website is located at: PCTalk.info
  20. I have never played Ogame. If I remember correctly, I heard about it in here and investigated but was never able to actually join. Probably better that way.
  21. Hmm, perhaps I need to get into better shape myself ... maybe more push-aways ...
  22. Darn you! Now I've gone and purchased even more games! I thought I had safely put GoG behind me ...
  23. I remember getting a program update to something that I had on Steam (Sacred 2 to Sacred 2 Gold, Skyrim to Skyrim GOTY, or something like that) and had a heck of a time getting Steam to recognize the update. I eventually had to add the new Game ID to steam and it instantly became available. I'm not saying that the Mod has a game ID but perhaps Steam needs to be "refreshed" somehow. At this point, it might be useful to contact Steam and let them know you are having a problem. I bet they can get you sorted fairly quickly.
  24. I'm a member of the NexusMods website and they only have three Mods for Sacred: http://www.nexusmods.com/sacred/mods/searchresults/?
