Spock 271
Recently the forum has been forgetting my login information as soon as I exit the forum. I have tried removing the board cookie and clearing the cache but nothing, so far, seems to work. Any other suggestions? Link to comment
Spock 271
OK, I have done a little research and find that even though I cleared all cookies and the browser cache, my computer doesn't seem to be able to remember the password I set for this forum. Every time I enter I must enter my username at which point my password is entered in the password box correctly and I must click on login. If I backspace to the login screen I must start all over again! This is getting to be a little annoying as I normally check in here 3 or 4 times a day. I haven't seen anyone else complaining, so it must be my system but, for the life of me, I cannot figure out what I have done wrong. I don't haev any problems with any of the other fora I visit. Zinsho 0
Double check in your saved passwords that you don't accidentally have two account names saved for the site, it sounds like it just doesn't know which to use by default. Link to comment
Spock 271
Double check in your saved passwords that you don't accidentally have two account names saved for the site ... I totally cleared all the cookies for this site. I know this because right after I cleared them, I had to reenter my password. As far as I know "Spock" is the only account I have here. Normally, when I clear cookies and cache I will login to a forum, backspace to the login screen, and refresh to verify that everything is working properly. If it is, the login screen will update to showing me being logged in. When I do that here, I'm still in the login screen and must click on the login button to gt back in. Link to comment
Arperum 3
The solution I found for making the site remember me is using the link " http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php? "(question mark included) and not " http://darkmatters.org ". Edited July 21, 2009 by Arperum Link to comment
Zinsho 0
I didn't exactly mean in the cookies If you go under the stored passwords you can look at them (I'm not on FFox right now so can't remember the exact path to it, but it's under your preferences). Double check you only have 1 entry for darkmatters, and not two or more. Of course Arp's solution might work, but I have had that 'flaw' before due to multiple names saved. Link to comment

Schot 407
Is the "Remember me" option check-marked? Log out and then check that remember me option which is only visible if you click on the "Log in" link near the top of the forum. Link to comment
the1youh8 0
yup I just checked.... the remember me box is checked. I logged in, closed my browser, than re-open and re-visted dark matters and I was logged off and needed to login Link to comment

So make sure your bookmarks are http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php and everything should work out. Link to comment

Now I have to wonder why it used to work before as I never changed anything ... that I'm aware of. Doesn't really matter I guess, I again auto-login when I access the forum now. Link to comment
Silearth 6
I was dealing with that issue as well. Using the link provided as my bookmark worked like a charm. Link to comment

Schot 407
Argh. Hate it when this happens. Sorry folks! Gonna see about putting an announcement up to better inform people who don't know about this yet... P.s. Everyone who has been locked out of the forum has now been "released". Link to comment
