Popular Post Pesmontis 168 Posted February 19, 2014 Popular Post Posted February 19, 2014 Presenting a set with entirely new models! Four of them are derived from the game Aion 4.0. This set is themed around the "Matrix" movie, and it focuses partly on spell resistance and weapon fire damage. It's going to be part of Flix's mod. In the name "Range Array", the word 'Range' is meant to indicate 'riffle range', as if Ancaria is a testground. The word 'Array' points to the movie, but also to 'decorative clothing'.Some of the names of the items relate to the movie's main female character called Trinity. The characters in this movie perform quite a bit of Kung Fu, and that's what the boots refer to: "Trinity's Kicks". For the leg armor I simply thought up a name that sounds alike: "Trickery Slacks".The pelvis displays some 'almost' gold attributes, and a kind of skull side armor. I thought this display of attributes is actually a kind of blazon. And since the coat tails originate at the pelvis, the name "Coat of Arms" seemed to fit quite well."Trinity's Cage" for the torso armor refers to the somewhat restrictive nature of this type of clothing. The arm sleeves I called "Evasion Cuffs": in the movie, the main characters can dodge bullets, and when they do so, they wave their arms in a very peculiar way. They also use firearms quite a lot - famous words of Trinity are "Dodge this" - so I wanted the gloves to enhance the use of Sacred 2 firearms. Have a look at the bonuses to see why they are called "Firecrackers".As you may know, I'm very much in favor of using (adventurer) hats in a set, and this set got the first one for "Trinity's High Hat". The name refers to a somewhat arrogant attitude of the character Trinity, but you might also think of one of the items in a drum kit: a flat wide cymbal that can be hit hard without causing excessive damage ;-) Set bonuses: 4

Silver_fox 399 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Outstanding. No other words for it. An extremely interesting set - both its looks and its stats are good-looking, unusual and would be very interesting to try out in game. The very existance of this set can make a prospect of building a firearm-wielding Elf so much more attractive. I saw you also posting about this set on Mantis. Are you going to integrate it with CM as well as with Flix's mod? 1
gogoblender 3,646 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Brilliant!I can't believe where you guys have taken the modding. The ultimate distillation of our beloved game and a shining imaginationWell done!gogo 1
Flix 5,240 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 (edited) It's been very satisfying to see this set come together. Pesmontis put a lot of hard work into bringing it to life, and he sent me everything basically all set up and ready to go. I'm very pleased to say it's now been added to the mod. Great work Pesmontis! A couple Trinity-esque shots for you: Edited February 20, 2014 by Flix 1
Schot 444 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Amazing. Phenominal work Pesmontis! I never expected to see this style enter the world of Sacred. Cheers to you!
Pesmontis 168 Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 (edited) Thanks guys, with your appreciation I love to create such models :-) > ".. about this set on Mantis.." I have a few other balls in the air for the CM-patch, plus this set hasn't received much attention in Mantis. > ".. its stats are good-looking.." That's a relief, really. I have to rely on others to qualify the bonuses. @ Flix: thanks for the beautiful screenshots, I'd like to know how you make them.. Edited February 20, 2014 by Pesmontis 1
Flix 5,240 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Well, for shots, step one is I use Schot's camera custom options settings, that gives me total control over camera angles. Step two is I turn of the grass, because it covers feet/legs and it seems like there's somehow always a big tuft of grass blocking that one perfect camera angle. Attack and Combat Art animations can give some good opportunities for interesting poses but in actual combat it can get chaotic and dangerous with enemies and all the graphical effects that can come into play (burning, life leech, critical hits, etc.). I've found that casting CA's while alone and taking pictures of buff casting animations is a good way to get cool poses. In particular you may recognize that "floating in the air" pose from Children of Asha thread...it's the casting animation for Incadescent Skin. I like it because it captures the High Elf's grace and also opens up her body so that elements of the set (especially on the limbs) are more plainly visible. For those Trinity shots I temporarily removed the fiery swirls for the buff, so she just floats up and spins around and comes back down. Holding shift to walk and block can get some nice poses sometimes as well. That animation happens very fast, especially with a high casting speed, so liberally using the pause button is the final step. Also, to take pics like that I use the game's built in system with "Print Screen" because it cuts out the UI and any floating text. I may message you later about refining certain bonuses. 1
Pesmontis 168 Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 Testing this a bit.. I guess casting CA + using pause does the trick, although it remains a matter of delicate timing..
gogoblender 3,646 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 I am in love with the amount of thought that's gone into this. I've read and re-read the topic over and over. You guys have created some fanastic synergy. Pesmontis, the great ideas on the names is just fantastic. Flix, the floating in the air pose... who woulda thought such things could be! And the evasion cuffs to stay in character with Matrix...outstanding! It's like, you guys have opened up Pandora's box... all movie themes can be had gogo 1
Yoshio 91 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 As I already said, this is just astonishing! I'm fully in love with this one! Can't hardly wait till I can get it into my Sacred!!! 1
Pesmontis 168 Posted February 20, 2014 Author Posted February 20, 2014 Eh.. I'm not american, I had to look that up: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ramiro_Martinez
gogoblender 3,646 Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 Holee molee, Psemontis, I didn't even catch that reference! How outstanding that your search cemented this great name as having more meaning! For me, just saying the word out quickly (which we were doing for a while this afternoon) I "caught" what I felt was a phonetic/play reference... but seeing your research pull this up makes me even happier. gogo
Dragon Brother 620 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Wow! Nice work. Loving the new stuff you are creating Pesmontis!
