How many languages do you speak?

I've asked this question on another forum and the answer there was fascinating and wonderfully revealing of the breadth of our community.

 

I speak and understand two languages, French and english.

I can also understand a good bit of Tamil and speak a bit...mostly bad things :devil:

 

How bout you guys?

In order of how well I can speak them:

 

Romanian

English (though in some cases better than romanian >_> )

French

Spanish

Italian

 

I wanna learn japanese next and probably going to start doing so in autumn.

English....a weeny bit of Irish...less of everything else :o

 

Gintukas taught me Hello in Lithuanian and Katran has taught me a few words in Macedonian *G*

 

;) Ok so I only know a few words in several languages and a few more I could ban myself from here for :devil:

Norwegian and English. :devil:

Swedish and Danish too if that counts. Very similar to Norwegian. I understand a little German also. Speaking it is a different matter.

the 2 languages I realy love to hear spoken is Irish and Aussie (yep I know iam strange) :)

English naturally. A decent amount of German, although I've not spoken it in years so I'm a bit rusty now. I also know a few phrases in Gaelic, but not enough to hold down a conversation. Which is a shame because it's a great sounding language.

 

 

 

I can also understand Dundonian, but then again that's a dialect rather than a language.

My mother tongue is Cantonese Chinese.

 

English

Mandarin Chinese

Japanese (rusty)

 

Learned Latin as a kid but I forgot everything but the basic (I suppose I can pick it up again ez but I have no use for Latin, lol :oooo: )

Tagalog

English

some Spanish (am part Spanish)

and soon to be some Chinese because my fiancee is part chinese (one of my favorite phrase is gua ai di :oooo: )

Omg! I also learned latin in school, for 2 years. >_>

That was one of the most pointless things I had to do.

And just like you, I also forgot everything about it. :drunkards:
