DarkMatters' hunt for new and fun forum descriptions

Hi everyone

 

As with everything, things get stale, tired and perhaps old. After looking at some other forum descriptions out there on the net, we've come to realize that perhaps some of our forum descriptions could use some polishing and/or wising up

 

We're sort of tired of all of them these days with the exception of perhaps Creatrix which is Schots. We're been looking at other forum descriptions of their forums. Some use quotes, or have cool/ nasty/more edgy lines from quotes or tv or books...etc. We're not sure where to go with this, but we do know that we've got some great writers here with great wit, and a feel for literary punch.

 

If any of you ever have time and/or have any ideas, would you be able to help us with this? We're thinking that a max per description would be about three lines of text per description so that the public forum displaying on the index won't get too bloated.

 

If you're able to help out, awesome. Just post what you think would be a good forum description regarding any of the following forums here at Darkmatters:

Your forum titles are cool Timo. And yeah we can look at that as well.

 

But it's the forum descriptions themselves that have gotten stale kinda I think.

 

Got any ideas for those as well? They should be descriptive of the kind of content found in the forums...while having a kind of edge. while being entertaining and getting peeps excited to come and peer inside?

 

I do like what quarter to three did with those quotes ^^

The dark cauldron - double double boil and bubble (and braise, roast, blanche and bbq). New ways to prepare things that used to be living for consumption by those that still are. Yumminess inside often with pictures. Not for viewing by those on a hunger strike or any restrictive caloric intake plan.

suggestion ----> Need a shoulder to cry on? Have some good news? Walk right in and open up. Rant, shout, laugh, cry you can do it here and you will be fine. Nothing small happens in life, and this is a place to share. You've come to the right place.

I like the current ones besides the media matters one. probably just random origin, but currently in the usa there is a far left wing website called media matters. the first amendment allows so much... whether you agree with their 'news' or disagree, perhaps something a bit more representative of what is inside. even changing it to 'media room' would better without changing it totally.

We're really sorry to have gotten back to this so late guys. We've just plucked out suggestions from dif peeps and stuck 'em in the index, along with a massive overhaul of the DarkMatters index page to help out with where peeps are going most these days regarding the site.

 

Again, thanks everyone for the great suggestions. The new ones are way more punchier than what we had going, and maybe in a few more months, we can change them again if more peeps come up with new ones, or we can rotate out the ones already in the forum descriptions and trade the ones not used so far in.
