I've been around too long. Don't recognize most of Indy's list -- I just listen to AC/DC Metallica and Black Sabbath. Got hooked in college a lifetime ago.

 

Back then, metal kind of meant lots of loud guitar, so I guess Scorpions and UFO would fit some too. (Gotta love Frau Schenker's boys!)

If you guys like Dimmu Borgir and Satyricon you should check out Allfader. They're a Norwegian band that play brutal melodic dark metal. Some info here, and you can download one of the songs from their album "At least we will die together" here. And

is the video for the same song. Pretty good I think.

 

Oh and they're from the same town as me.

Well I do love metal myself! But being from Vermont and not much exposure to alot of other kinds growing up, my main ones were, Slayer, Megadeth, Pantera, Danzig, King Diamond and others along those lines. Used to play in several metal garage bands as well and have some great memories with these!

 

I only just recently discovered Symphonic Metal and I absolutely love it!

Though I dont know what Nu Metal is! LOL

 

I have mellowed out just a little bit though, Can listen to anything (Except rap and hiphop) from metal to classical literally, just depends on my mood!
