  1. I think the % spell resistance on the SKILL does not work. Just the -crit and mastery bonus of reduced effects (DOTs is an example) So the increased willpower doesn't get modified with %spell resistance. Gear % spell resistance does work, but not the skill. I did a test with elfs with scaling (with gear) values of spell intensity (from crystal skin).. There was an elf with those scaling values (with gear) and a shadow warrior with scaling grim resilience (gear).. The results are that grim resilience lowers damage, but crystal skin does not add any damage even when Grim Resilience is turned off. I never use gear that increases spell intensity any more. spell resistance is still a good skill for the -crit and reduced effects since both crit and reduced duration are amazing when you consider that combat arts and specifically dots are two of the most dangerous things in sacred. An example of nasty dots are the south east of the swamp
  2. I have an idea! :o What if you lose the survival bonus when you respec!! Genius if I do say so myself. Send to the developers!
  3. Some games like titan quest I liked respec. But for unbended I want no respec. The reason is the same reason I play hard core. It makes the choices more of an adrenaline rush. It is a MONUMENTAL choice. Just like one death is START AGAIN... And I used to be a strong critic about how vane people were about hardcore as one can see on my posts (early on) in sacred international forum (SIF)... If I have a respecable build who gives a 'fecal matter' what skills I choose? That means no adrenaline. It is similar to HC (hard core). The pain of losing a high level hardcore character is really an experience. "My God why have you forsaken me!!" That's what I say as the lifeless toon lies legs akimbo. But then as hope springs eternal I make a new better character. In conclusion respec = no adrenaline I like it for some games but I like TQ (titan quest) for different reasons than the previous games that those ascaron dudes made. (I won't even mention the intellectual property that shall not be mentioned.)
  4. Could the mayor be a space hamster? Oops wrong game
  5. The problem with dual wield is no % life leach
  6. The problem is defense not offense. You can for offense use purifying chastisement crits, ruthless mutilation for multiple enemies (spider has a large 'surface area, but no dual wield dual hits), and for single enemies and champions use callous execution. This is all the offense you need. For defense on mobs you lose soul reaver which is like the best mobs defense, but not defense for casters. This is a huge loss. You also lose reverse polarity which is also a big loss. Inquisitor is by nature squishy so losing those buffs is a hard loss. My build used those buffs and also took mitigation mod on purifying chastisement, armor mastery for mitigation, toughness for mitigation, and inquisitor set pieces that give physical mitigation. He got around 80 % physical mitigation and around 65 % all channel mitigation. I used boots and skirt slots with evasion. That inquisitor was a hell of a tank. But you can go with my strategy just a hard loss to lose reverse polarity and soul reaver. But you can switch in defensive skills for those two foci (focuses?) and don't need concentration. Take combat reflexes, constitution, armor, toughness, and spell resistance (only worth it if mastery). Spec all of your stat points in vitality. Spec to mitigation and evasion and some % spell resistance (percent). It's worth a whirl. Here's an example off top of my head. 1 Tactics 2 Armor 3 Gruesome 4 Sword or Pole arm (for % life leach) 5 Combat Reflexes 6 Toughness 7 Bargaining or Combat Discipline (only take bargaining if you are mastering) 8 Constitution 9 Spell resistance 10 Damage Lore
  7. I'd love to support the developers in any case and how cool to get a skull and or gravestone? I tried the link on the guide section and it did not lead anywhere:)
  8. I really don't like loot snatching and so forth I am not 'twitchy' in getting loot. It would be a motivating factor for me to not play with a party. Sacred 2 also due to the mechanics of xp discouraged partying. Unless you were at exactly the same level you could get more xp solo.
  9. Yes there is a tear in my eye. I'd love to see everyone again. So fun battling and cooking up theories and strategies. Hopefully I can meet up with many of you in another game. The problem is to hear who is who.
  10. I like recharge with the mirror and derogate mod because otherwise when your shield goes off you lose those. I like energy, energy with the reduction Just my personal choices Of those I will take the second option if I am going on a 'toughness strategy' where I spec gear to see how high mitigation I can get. The reason is that mitigation has increasing returns rather than diminishing. For example going from 0 - 25 mitigation you take 1/4 less damage as you were taking. But going from 75-100 you gain an infinite amount less damage because you are now taking 0. Or 50 - 75 you are taking 1/2 as much damage. If I am not going a mitigation strategy I will take the 1st option. Another point on derogate. There also is a hidden defensive benefit to derogate in that you can potentially afflict 'weaken' status on the mobs and it tics every second to see if you get the effect.
  11. Any idea anyone when it will be released? I purchased it but I didn't want to play the beta and get bored of it before the game is even complete.
  12. We had an unbelievable storm. The sky was inhumanly dark. I wondered honestly if I had taken a nap (without noticing) and it were night. I have never seen anything like it and my city we get a lot of thunderstorms.
  13. Vaclef updated to Ice and Blood iirc It's called Mechanix http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?/topic/14253-mechanix-x-e-ice-and-blood/
  14. read 'the dwarf in the right arm' by Vaclef (spelling?) for tips on Lost Fusion. It's in the builds section of the forum. I forget but there is a way to have a combo first hit an art and then put Battle Extension in the second or third slot of the combo and it sends a long range shot or burst of shots all around. Try Amplifying Discharge followed by Battle Extension. It should first send your combat art and then the guy goes nuts with his arm laser and shoots all over the place. Not sure how practical it is long term.
  15. Just for a build to beat niob I don't plan on mastery for each skill of course. I plan for 5 or 6 and I find skills like constitution or enhanced perception that perform with only a couple of points. edit NOT constitution. I meant concentration. Sorry.
  16. It doesn't do aything to a single target. It is just splash damage to adjacent monsters like the explode mod on Archangels Wrath.
  17. Hi Angel. I have made a melee dryad that went to niob. I wanted to try without armor lore. So your suggestions I cannot take because they are telling me TO taking armor lore. I would never go without concentration on a dryad because the bark buff and the hunter buff are needed for melee or missile. Spells and you don't need.
  18. I'm playing this game and have a start with a 12th level character which takes maybe 8-12 hours game time. If anyone wants to play with me personal message me here and I will add you as a friend. I have never played an MMO and I am finding it quite fun.
  19. I tested Master Bite. I don't remember what happened I just remember that the only vampire skills I liked were wolf and bats. I'm not sure if more runes would help.
  20. Yeah dragon focus and not lore. the dragon strike misfiers as you say. %LL is just useful because there is so much advantage to % LL. I mean even if you hit only 1/2 times and you do 2% LL in platinum you still take the boss down in 20 hits or so... But really I am not too experienced in DM. I only made it to platinum farming of trash kobolds.
  21. Just an idea, but if you rebuild take alchemy and master it. The huge bonus to attack of troll teeth might make it easy to use a %life leach (LL) shuriken and in addition have mentor potions running the whole game. For gust of wind are you aiming it manually so the spread of the cone is tight? You can do more damage to big targets like bosses. You can practice on bears. Personal message Chatiuss (spelling?) He is the one I know of who has made a lot of DM builds. 1 Ancient Magic 2 Elemental Lore 3 Dragon Magic lore 4 Mentalism Lore 5 Staff Lore 6 Concentration 7 Combat Discipline 8 Enhanced Perception, 9 Toughness 10 Armor Lore. Those are all good picks aside for staff lore. I would take focus of Dragon Magic for the familiar buff. Also take focus of mentalism instead of lore since you are using debuffs rather than hard damage. Or take Dragon focus instead of lore and alchemy instead of staffs. Have a slot with a % life leach shuriken. Sockets in the LL shuriken are bonuses. But get a 2 socket or mirror (3 socket) shield and slot %chance opponent cannot evade attacks.
  22. just a tidbit.. I tested spell intensity and I couldn't see any effect. My test was an ice elf which was modded to have the spell intensity mod of ice skin. She had gear with niob ice skin runes. So she could by taking off and on equipment make values of ice skin: 1, 7, 13, 19 etc (iirc and I probably don't recall) Then she had a shadow warrior buddy with Grim Resilience giving various values of spell resistance. I tested each match up. I think I used 3 or 5 tests trials at each combination. What I found was that various spell intensities don't affect damage. Whereas various willpowers (spell resistance) did affect the damage. It could just be a bug in the display, but I think spell intensity does not work and I never use it. ----------------------- Another matter: how much damage is the Octaglamus doing to you? Is he dangerous? If he is easy to tank you could switch from defensive gear to offensive. Whets are good for % damage increase. +skills is good.
  23. Niob has even higher minimums. Yeah that's how it is. By the time you catch up with the regions your SB will be high again. Happy gaming
  24. Also if you want someone to game with on MP and you know how to do MP gaming I would be happy to join your quest
  25. I didn't have this problem when I used the GoG version (or was it steam?). However when I played with disks on my 2006 purchased computer I had the same problem. I overcame it by switching to only one core on my 2006 computer. IF I recall corectly. The solution might be on the GoG forum. It's been 8 years so make sure you know what you are doing in switching to single core. Or have a guide and write down the steps so you can switch back to dual core once you're done with Sacred 1.
