  1. Hmmm. FireTeleport. A spell my wizard was going to make (20 years ago) if he ever got high enough level in Dungeons and Dragons. Cool that Ascaron read my mind 'n all, eh?
  2. Oh the days of COBOL programming! I'm a little bit envious of your position. Gratz on the new job! Sacred 2 is amazing. You can experience it by going to youtube and playing the videos there... closest thing to memorex... err.. I mean real life. Cheers Frost
  3. Congratulations to Knuckles and to gogo! (and the 200 fellow too). My journey up will be much slower as I too am finding it hard to get time to play. Cheers all!
  4. Congrats on cast-freedom! Never mind what it looked like... what did it SMELL like:)!! Yuk!! Best witches Frosto
  5. No, the +2 (etc) to CA only applies to sockets. Which then makes Blacksmith skill valuable at higher playing levels.
  6. I finally logged into multiplayer Sacred yesterday (go me!). I started on the Start Isle... and quickly found the cave with portals to different parts of the game. I poked around choosing the portal that looked like the start area (High Elf area). I took the portal... and my hardcore level 1 Elf was immediately killed by a level 5 wolf (and in the screen I could see 5 skeletons wandering around). Hmmm. Insta-death. For a level 1 alone. So: TIP: Explore the entire island, and choose the portal by the docks which leads into a town centre. Much more survivable start! Please Post tips here for how to quickly clamber out of powerlessness (low levels)... and THANKS!
  7. I'm confused! (What is new:)!) Are you running Sacred2 off the memory stick? If so, speed issues of the stick will cause all kinds of havoc!
  8. The UK version of CE also (like the German) has stickers and such. It also has a poster/map (poster one side, map of Ancaria the other).
  9. Bonjour Bou! or ... Bonsoir Bou! Thank you for stopping by, and thank you for working on the wiki!
  10. Here in Winnipeg for internet we have 2 main choices: MTS (phone company) or Shaw (cable TV company). Both are now offering broadband connections... Shaw makes you share the pipe with your neighbours and MTS doesn't. In MTS's case you share the optical. Same deal. Now about technical competency: techs "grow up" in MTS, getting experience... and then head south of the border for higher paying tech jobs in the warm USA. When they leave the company, they leave big gaping holes in the competency of the company. The only way to learn is by experience... and so... every now and then... we get SUPER CRUMMY SERVICE. At work, we have lost our CATCHALL about 3 times now. That means our domain name mail all gets bounced. If our clients are not too technically oriented, they think WE are the problem. We left MTS to go to a company called ESCAPE due to MTS's incompetance... only to find 2 months down the road that MTS bought ESCAPE. Craptacular! So: I just hafta say, call the customer service lines and complain, complain complain. Most phone companies have customer service people who can waive some fees on your bill. Complain about the service often. Each person who gives you discounts/credits is only allowed so much at one go. Happy credits all!
  11. Some of us are here wondering what happened with the test... Is is all over now?
  12. Hmm. I think he just is reacting to his own wake. That is, gogo has laid down quite a trail of "happy/pleasent/goodwill-ridden"-ness, he was bound to get some bounced back in his direction. Changes the meaning of "Wake up" (like "Surf's up!") ...or... he's just discovered the Sacred2 (in whatever form) version of the "Prototype Sword" from Sacred 1.
  13. My name is the unremarkable Dave. (These are the Daves you know you know These are the Daves you know) {Kids in the Hall song from 1980s? 1990s?, KitH were a Canadian comedy troop}
  14. Wow! There's so much in this game to discover! I'm soo looking forward to getting out of HighElf's-ville. And... maybe getting higher than level 12... Thanks for leading the way gogo!
  15. Thanks for the tip Schot! All hail to the Master! (or was that Hail?)
  16. Hi. I just popped into the Sacred wiki looking for the page on the XMAS items... and... I have to report: I canna find it cap'n! (in my best Scotty brogue!) Help Help Help! --=====--- Hmm. Using the wiki search ... http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php5/Sacred:X-MAS_Set So. Emergency ended Cap'n!
  17. Most dedicated traders had a suit of armour called their trade suit that they wear when they are visiting bravemart (the two traders next to one another in Braverock castle, activated by the "Goods Messenger" quest.) I recommend you make a play suit and a trade suit. Cheers!
  18. I love coming home and having my cat run to the door to great me! ...I have a cat that is internally a dog.
  19. A Healing BM? Well. He wouldn't just cast Spiritual Healing, nor just Reiki (hit point regeneration of Reiki is lower in combat than out of it.) A healer would also cast a choice of Stoneskin, Flameskin, Ghost Meadow, Shieldwall... Whatever protection boost would be the best. Stoneskin is a favourite since it greatly boost physical resistance... but Flameskin protects from arrows and really helps out during a Dragon fight... Ghost Meadow puts the players into powerdrive mode where their CAs regenerate amazingly fast... and Shieldwall boosts Magic resistance and blocks projectile weapons... A BM in a party is player heaven... pure and simple.
  20. Have you socketed the equipment with something incompatible? Say, a ring that has a magic lore requirement? I have heard of fadalmar axes unequipping themselves when rings (fad rings) are socketed that are much lower level than the axe itself. It sounds like your game has decided your item is a cheat item. You could always try re-installing the game... Good luck!
  21. A blowgun is a new take on the ranged combat expert. Sounds like a poison weapon to me!
  22. I read somewhere on the 'net that Gates wrote memos like this about once a week when he was working at MS. Bureaucracy grows as an organization grows... to the point the org can't really be controlled from the top anymore... Just check out any governemnt...
  23. I too was a victim of this email. Thankfully it wasn't as disturbing as some spam PMs I've received elsewhere in the past. And stubbie... I'll loan you a $ towards your $156!
  24. One of the things I have found that comforts me in dealing with my older relatives is to talk to them about the happy days... the times we share that made us proud, happy, or just smile. If she can have access to a dog (she clearly shouldn't be expected to take care of one right now), it would help her a lot. Dogs provide an enormous emotional support system---this is coming from a cat person by the way... Happiness is a great defense against cancer. I know you love her... let her live in love and she'll have quality time... and she might beat the cancer. A friend's mother was put in the terminal ward... but survived the experience. Never give up hope!
