You can swap and change servers as often as you like. Just go to options/account in the games main menu just before you log on. You can only use the money auction house in whatever region your game was purchased in however. And your toons are locked to the server that they are created in.

If that was a computer of your dreams I would hate to see what a computer of your nightmares was like.

Would depend on the items level and the lack of a socket might lower the price. Do a comparison check in the auction house.

I recently had my internet plan upgraded at no cost because I am a big user and long time customer. I was getting approx 20Mps download speed before. Now check it out! Too bad it doesn't help improve the lag I get to the US D3 servers.

Okay, I'm up for this. My main problem would be times due to me being in the upside down land. Though if you guys were playing at around 7pm+ Fri or Sat night PDT you could usually count me in as that is around midday here. I would prefer to do it in HC though.

I have made the space bar my regen health hotkey ever since I played Sacred HC online, so many years ago. It is the key you are bound to hit when you frantically smash the keyboard.

I like the game but it frustrates me at times. In act 3 mobs get ridiculously hard and frequent. And this is only in normal difficulty. I have died too many times to count. The fact that I have to remain online all the time really irkes me. Being in Australia we get lag issues. It has to be factored into every build. I wish the game had an offline single player mode so I could experience the game as well as you guys are without lag issues. But I still will continue playing. I like the style of game though as has been mentioned the builds seem to be very restrictive when compared to similar games. Once I complete the campaign on my own I look forward to joining up in parties and doing it all again with others.

I think it would be almost impossible to play HC in D3 for any length of time without being in a party. Did you get to level 59 solo Chrona?

What the heck is wrong with the defrag utility that comes free with windows? In all honesty defragging is grossly overrated. You should only consider defragging if after an analysis it shows your drive is 5%+ defragged. Even then you will see no improvement in access speed. Only when your drive is 10-20% defragged will you possibly see an increase. Defragging is a leftover from the old days when people needed 640kB and games came out on floppy's. Well maybe not quite that far ago but you get my drift. Otherwise doing regular defrag only causes unnecessary wear on your hard drive and causes you a lot of downtime while you do it.

and the game is only 20 bucks! Honestly this is a great game...I have been playing the beta and while it doesn't have the polish that D3 has it is a great arpg in its own right. It doesn't have the online all the time DRM that D3 has shoved down our throats and that is certainly worth supporting. And it has online HC! No dedicated servers unfortunately but you can play co-op with up to 6 others..that's 2 more than D3. Don't get me wrong...I love D3 and I'm playing it heaps...but TL2 is another game that is certainly worth getting...which I'm pre-ordering this pay check.

And I have been asking myself why? I have come to the conclusion that Sacred 1 was a milestone in computer game history. Just as Diablo set the ground rules for single player arpg's, Sacred set the standard for online partying arpg's. Those of us that were fortunate enough to be a part of Sacred 1 hang on to the wonderful game experience Sacred HC was. But those days have long gone and we as a gaming community need to realise that. The gaming world has changed a lot over the past 10 years. I don't think any game produced today will be able to replicate the wonderment and enjoyment we all felt going online and playing on the HC servers that we did with Sacred in 2004. If you can accept that then games like Diablo 3, that have their problems no doubt, can still be a great experience. Just have to let go of the past.

I was online when knuckles met his maker. That was an excellent first time effort mate. My hat (recently dyed white) goes off to you. But like I said I honestly think you should go SC if you want to finish the game in your lifetime. HC in D3 is extreme HC...if SC is any indication. You WILL die

Sort of a moot point. You are unable to equip unidentified items, so right clicking an unidentified item will always identify it first.

My hopes to be playing HC have been dashed. The latency is way too unpredictable for me to play. It can go from 200ms to 1000ms in a heartbeat. I gave it a go for a couple of days but it wasn't fun. Hopefully they can stabilise the servers or have a patch to improve it. While I've always had a relatively high ping (both Guild Wars and Sacred 2 ran at about 250ms) at least it was constant. When that's the case you can play and build your toon to accommodate it. With it all over the place like it is now it's just impossible. So SC it is.

You guys realise that global regions are now active in D3 dont you? You can swap from US to EU to Asia servers at any time in the options menu and go back and forth as much as you like. And in regards to the thread....I will probably play both but atm D3 has my full attention and GW2 will probably be a Xmas present.

This is actually not true. I have a EU key so I downloaded the EU client installer. However once the game installed the game defaulted to my Battlenet account region...the US. Also the problems with region changes and the auction house are not really relevant if you play Hardcore. The Real Money Auction House is not available with hardcore.

10 minutes until I get to play at 5pm aussie time.......am I anxious? Naaa, I'm just cooking the family dinner 1 hour before it's due BECAUSE I DONT WANT TO LOSE ONE PRECIOUS MINUTE OF PLAYTIME! so no....not anxious at all.

Due to lag issues I will be going on the US servers.

I will start in SC to get the hang of the interface/controls/hotkeys. I also need to check how the lag affects gameplay as that will determine what my character build will have to be. Once that is done it is off to HC forever!

Somehow I suspect you, and every one else out there in gaming land, will somehow find the time for D3

Well I had a pretty good time with the game over the weekend. Got to do some partying up and really liked the way the game plays. Any lag I may have had didn't seem to affect gameplay at all while in a party. That is a real plus for me. I usually suffer terrible lag with online games. The stat increase by purchase using real money causes me concern. I myself will only play in parties with people that have built their toons up purely from game experience rather than some shortcut due to a purchase. I don't condemn players who disagree, it's just the way that I like to play. I suspect there will be other gamers who feel the same. Though after some reading I believe that items purchased though the auction house will not be available in hardcore. If that is indeed the case then my concerns are none as I only intend to play hardcore online....it has always been like that for me ever since the days of the original Sacred.

A few of us over at DA are downloading it as well. Hopefully we might be able to join up with some of you guys over the weekend.
