  1. Uhmm, first things first. I am running with the CM pactch 110 and I have done some light modding namely changing the "persistent" setting on most bosses to 1 that I might rerun bosses in Single Player campaign mode. That said, now I encounter a boss monster near the "Garghadok's Destiny" archaeological dig site in northeastern Tyr Lysia. It's name is simply "dragon" and it has a "ghostly" visual effect similar to Shadow Warriors running Shadow Veil or the Inquisitor's doppleganger. I didn't stick around to fight it, but it had rainbow damage and resistances and it managed to breathe fire on me once. Is this critter connected to any quest or is it just some "leftover" I managed to reactivate (or is it a CM patch "work in progress").
  2. The short answer is "no you can't". Long answer. How would you make the armor pieces fit a totally different model?
  3. I'm not a fan of the new scheme either. Fistly: The design just screams "BLIZZARD!" at the top of it's lungs. Which is odd, as this is not a WoW or Diablo 3 fan-site. Secondly: The "slimline" design does nothing for the usability of the site. It just makes it harder to read. Usability concerns should always trump aesthetic concerns.
  4. As far as I know missile attacks are considered "spells" for the purpose of breaking invisibility. This raises a lot of possibilities, even if it's only normal attacks. Life Leech shurikens anyone?
  5. There's a piece of high elf NPC banter that, if I recall correctly, goes roughly like this: "I heard that a rather small white bear is keeping a lot of people in suspense". My intuition tells me this is a reference to the "Knut-mania" phenomenon that gripped Germany (and much of the rest of the world to be honest) a few years back.
  6. It's probably just Deep Silver kicking the US distributor while they're down, and by extension kicking their customer base. Remember, Ascaron used different distributors for USA and Europe. They then got bought out by their EU distributor who have no incentive to make life easier for their rivals. You, of course, are a just powerless consumer with no real rights to the things you paid for.
  7. You assume I wanted Nefarious Netherworld for the damage. I was thinking of it more as a support aspect. Dislodged Spirit and Paralyzing Dread are excellent boss gimpers. But, well, it might be more prudent to take Spell Resistance or something.
  8. If I dropped Blacksmith (I already have a smither (a cheesy perma-invisible Shadow Warrior) would it make sense for me to pick up the NefNeth Focus? While he is not going to "run" bosses. I expect him to do all bosses at least once.
  9. I've been poking around the Inquisitor build board, but most of the guides there are like: "Needs Niob Smith/Shopper" here, "needs lucky boss-farmer" there and "can't hack it at high-level Ice and Blood" all around. Is there any kind of inquistor that I can take through the campaign without a gaggle of waterbearers to proffer him up? One who can forge through the trials and tribulations of the game by the sweat of his own brow? I am Playing with the CM-patch, so no leech-bugged demons.
  10. 1: Beg, or have good friends. 2: Choose Bargaining as early as possible and keep it at character level. 3: Guides are often written by the affluent and well-connected. As a lonely single-player I have learnt to take everything with a pinch of salt.
  11. Add my voice to the "use polearms" choir. Just as in Sacred 1 Seraphim have good animations with polearms and Percentage Life Leech is crazy good at higher difficulty settings, like Diablo 2 Crushing Blow, but somehow even more broken.
  12. Would it be too much to ask for to have the set use a different colour than the Combat Modules set? I know it's just a re-enabled set already in the files, but it just seems a tad.. ..lazy, to have two sets look exactly the same.
  13. I spoke with the Easter Hare and nothing happened. No quest log entry. No eggs spawned. Nothing. Is this intended?
  14. I included a few non-bosses because they are an integral part of the boss fight. Daloriel would not be much without his annoying healers and a big part of the Crystal Phoenix fight is killing the statues. My main hopes/fears here is whether I can get Narmul, the Abishai of Dissension and the Nameless Guardian to respawn properly. Narmul and the Abishai because they are interesting boss fights. The Guardians because they serve the same purpose as Baal does in Diablo 2, as an endgame high-end equipment farming target.
  15. Well, I read in the "Sacred 2 Mod Compilation" thread that the trick is to set "persistent = 1" for their corresponding creature id's, so I dug through the creatures.txt for them. Now I need a few clarifications before I change something stupid. Firstly, is this list correct? id = 186 Gahanka (name = "Barb_HE_troll_warrior_elite") id = 625 Terus (name = "Legio_skeleton_General") id = 1887 The White Griffin (name = "Monst_griffin_bird_boss") OR IS IT id = 282 (name = "tenerg_griffin_bird_mutate")? id = 1877 Daloriel the Depraved (name = "tenerg_helf_NK_boss") id = 1878 Daloriel's toady 1 (name = "tenerg_helf_healer_boss_1") id = 1879 Daloriel's toady 2 (name = "tenerg_helf_healer_boss_2") id = 76 Gar'Colossus (name = "Boss_tenerg_steingolem") id = 1886 The Banshee (name = "energy_ghost_boss") id = 1869 The Evocator (name = "energy_HU_ghost_mage_boss") id = 1883 The Raging Boar (name = "wild_HU_boar_boss") id = 1874 Bloodclaw (name = "Monst_werewolf_boss") id = 1884 Thranak (name = "tenerg_ogre_warrior_boss") id = 368 Octogolamus (name = "Boss_Monst_giantkraken") id = 1085 Swirling Mist of Miasma (name = "Boss_tenerg_fogmonster") id = 1876 Sinister Prince (name = "Dead_mummy_priest_boss") id = 216 Carnach (name = "Boss_Demon_firedemon") id = 367 Garganthropod (name = "Boss_insect_scorpion") id = 1880 Holos (name = "Monst_minotaur_boss) id = 1885 The Harpy Queen (name = "Monst_griffin_bird_boss") id = 217 Kral of the Winged Demons (name = "Boss_Mech_bionic_flyer") id = 1564 Kral's energy stations (name = "Boss_ju_energystation") id = 1472 Facetteleon (name = "Boss_tenergy_crystal") id = 1433 Forest Guardian (name = "Plant_ent_boss_elite") id = 1930 Ice Lord (name = "Monst_elemental_ice_boss") id = 1881 Lord of Searing Flames (name = "Monst_elemental_fire_boss") id = 1931 Poison Lord (name = "Monst_elemental_poison_boss") id = 1932 Earth Lord (name = "Monst_elemental_earth_boss") id = 2047 Scaron (name = "Boss_tenerg_crystal_scarabaeus") id = 1327 Narmul, the Crystal Phoenix (name = "Dragon_phoenix_elite") id = 2126 Blue phoenix statue (name = "TRAP_crystal_phoenix_statue_blue") id = 2127 Green phoenix statue (name = "TRAP_crystal_phoenix_statue_green") id = 2128 Red phoenix statue (name = "TRAP_crystal_phoenix_statue_red") id = 2129 Yellow phoenix statue (name = "TRAP_crystal_phoenix_statue_yellow") The dragons confuse me, is this a good guess? id = 97 Magmadur (name = "Dragon_huge_fire_boss") id = 496 Bengaresh Desert Dragon (name = "Dragon_huge_desert_boss") id = 495 Hissil'Ta Swamp Dragon (name = "Dragon_huge_swamp_boss") id = 1898 The Grinch (name = "Dragon_huge_ice_cr1_boss") I assume the Nameless Guardians/Great Machine are made up of these: id = 1503 The big egg (name = "Boss_BM_core") id = 1459 Guardian 1 (name = "Boss_BM_master_01") id = 1592 Guardian 2 (name = "Boss_BM_master_2A") id = 1593 Guardian 3 (name = "Boss_BM_master_2B") id = 1594 Guardian 4 (name = "Boss_BM_master_03") But who is "Dragon_huge_ice" and the different "Dragon_huge_mountain" variants. Which dragon corresponds to the Grunwald Cave Dragon and which to the Gyrvim Island Dragon? Also, what's the deal with "CLONE_Dragon_huge_fire boss"? Secondly, how do I go about multipart bosses. I am here thinking about the Big old Great Machine/Nameless Guardian complex as well as Kral and the Crystal Phoenix. Should I make each of their individual parts "persistent"? Thirdly, are any of the Blood Forest, Christmas Island and Community Patch bosses safe to make "persistent"? They all seem heavily quest-related. Fourthly, what is the id for the Guardian in the Crystal Planes. Fifthly, what actually happens to "persistent" bosses. Do they regenerate when you start a new game session, or can they regenerate within a single game session?
  16. I am actually going to disagree with the general consensus about the best TG build for starters. Melee TG's take a LONG time to mature. Your main (only) mass killer, Deathly Spears only gets good at mid-high levels, and Battle Extension is just a plain weak skill. Dedicated Blow does get nice later on when you can put some runes in it without killing your regen and it's special only start to be truly good in the higher difficulties where monster armour start to really matter. If you want to make a fairly general-purpose TG that starts to be good in the earlier game you want a Source Warden/Devout Guardian hybrid. Focusing on Source Warden first. Fiery Ember is actually quite good at mass slaughtering kobolds and undead. As you mature Deathly Spears becomes available giving you the "punch" to go after tougher targets, like bosses.
  17. I think TSFF19 means Sacred 2 Fallen Angel without the expansion.
  18. I was looking over the lists and now I'm thinking: Where does a skill like Deathly Spears fit in this scheme? It's a sort of hybrid in it's own way as well though my intuition tells me it works mostly as a spell.
  19. Whoah, how did you achieve that? I was under the impression it was next to impossible to create entirely new models for this game, customized proprietary format and all.
  20. ciSacred is pure eye-candy. It jazzes up a couple of the item set graphics, makes the High Elf slightly less horse-faced, changes the looks of the interface. It does also change the hated Ancient Bark graphic though.
  21. It looks like a blue fireball no matter what weapon you are using.
  22. This can easily happen if you approach the cave from a different angle. The game expects you to arrive from the town, if you arrive from another direction (such as fresh from looting the Inquisition Church) the game can get confused.
  23. I seem to have a problem with Combat Alert. Whenever I cast it my framerate drops considerately. Particularly when it is being cast. This is a problem as you are supposed to use it more or less constantly and it represent a considerate part of the Temple Guardian's survivability. What could be done to alleviate the problem? None of the other temporary buffs seem to have that problem.
  24. Well, I'm playing with the CM patch so quests rarely break irrevocably, but I've had my problems with this one before. The issue seems to surface when I F8 out of the cavern. Apparently entering and exiting the the cave entrance is necessary to make the quest update properly.
  25. Good things come to those who explore apparently. Anyway. You need to go to the Clearview military camp first. There you will be told to go check up on the NPC at the inn. Everything else should be as usual.
