  1. Better support and a stable game. That's all what I'm asking for. Since Ice & Blood and the bankrupt of Ascaron there is no support anymore and the game is as unstable as with the launch of sacred 2. When Ascaron still lived, they made at least patches to fix things and with version 2.34 it became stable. No more crashes or other unwanted things. Now with the expansion all is coming back; the crashes, broken quests and so on. And no single patch that fixes the problems. Only some minor ones. It's like sacred 2 is already forgotten and deep silver just continue to the next one.
  2. Character customization isn't really necessary for gameplay purposes, but if it is worked out and it doesn't decrease the gameplay then why not. Now take The Elder Scrolls franchise and then especially Morrowind. TES III: Morrowind is an example of good gameplay and with a nice option to customize your character. And with mods this is even expanded. Morrowind is still alive nowadays, due to the modding community and due to it's excellent gameplay. So character customization could be an improvement to a game. I doubt if it is really an improvement for Sacred 2, as you play here with prefab characters instead of making an own one. The option to change the hair color is funny though.
  3. Sorry, I don't know anything about the console version as I play myself on the pc.
  4. Well, I entered the cave with my hunter dryad. Entered the cave, defeated the elementals in a few seconds, exit and then entered again. The third time only a single elemental was there. Also, it doesn't matter if you open the crate and barrel in there. Have done this, then got to the forgotten gardens and when I came back into the cave all the 6 elementals were there again. So opening the chests doesn't matter, they respawn anyway. I have the feeling there are better places to grind. The canyon to the forgotten gardens is a great place for example. The area around the Celestial Dome and Twainbrook also and the road to the temple of Noriath (where you can also encounter the griffon) All those places are crawling with kobolds. You can find some champion ones near Noriath's temple and that high elven outpost between the celestial dome and sloeford. And if you can survive them, then go in the direction of Thylysium, where the undead starts to crawl.
  5. I wouldn't just rely on intelligence alone. Add also points to vitality, it helps alot. Next to that; Ancient Magic also increase the damage output of spells, as well as the stormite lore does for the mystic stormite tree (which you use alot) Although there are builds which are using intelligence for the most, like the bolting terror build. But that build also use stamina. I use this build myself on the pc, but also have changed it. At the moment my elf is level 18. I've spent a few points in stamina, but the most in vitality and also some in intelligence. At the first level I unlocked armor lore, then I went for storm lore, concentration as third, then arcania focus and ancient magic. spent 10 points in armor lore, 17 in storm lore, 10 in DA focus. Concentration is just 1. Eated 9 runes of GI and unlocked the bronze mod storm experience. Unlike the topicstarter I do use Frost Flare and have gold modded that as first. Glacial Thorns is effective yes, but so is frost flare. With the mods freeze, frost and icy circle you can easily slow down enemies and let them freeze. If you hit at the right spot you can even hit a group. The advantage of frost flare is that you can use it against single enemies and against groups and with it you can slow them down. I used FF against a group of kobolds, including a chief, and they all went suddently down only with FF. Just hit the chief with FF and just watch as they drop down. So far I use frost flare alot, together with Glacial Thorns and also Cobalt Strike (which I also mod). Blazing tempest as sort of backup, just in case. Regentime is pretty low. GT is around 2.5, FF 3,0 and CS also something like that and that with crystal skin activated (and ofcourse also GI). CS works great, actually the same as ancient bark from the dryad. So far the elf doesn't get a scratch, even not with groups of kobolds. Well, only one time with a very large group and 2 champions in it (was near the temple of noriath). I had to use 2 healing potions. But so far she hadn't died, so the survival bonus is pretty high now. Spells doesn't have an effect on the elf. I use one piece of Faladal's blizzard set (faladal's cord) and one of the delphic arcania set. I'm still at Tyr Lysia and haven't visited Thylysium yet. Used the area around celestial dome and noriath's temple as farming ground. At the very beginning, just when you start, I used the fire demon for a little while. A fire demon with an ice elf? Yep, but only temporary. You can use the little guy to dispatch the enemies. Just set him on individually and have it set to spread out. It takes a little while, but they go down. Your elf is very weak in the beginning, so you can use the demon in a strategic way to get rid of the enemies. After you got runes for the stormite tree and GI and you have now strenghten yourself you can swap the devil for GI and CS. I'm planning not to use constitution and shied lore. As the elf is already pretty strong with the use of crystal skin and putting points in vitality I have the feeling you can also swap constitution and shield lore for something else. Tactics lore and magic staffs for example; to make an allround ice mage (what's a mage without a staff) or delphic arcania lore and combat discipline for a hybrid build.
  6. Before I added the expansion to my game I had several rings and amulets, like Bar'Tenders ring, Shamantic amulet and a couple of others. I got a level 15 shamantic amulet. Now since ice & blood and since I have started over I find other rings, like the inquisition token, but so far not the Bar'Tender ring or the shamantic amulet. The expansion adds new things to the game or change the appearance, but does it also remove items? Or is the way of the drops changed perhaps and does the bar'tender ring and shamantic amulet drop at a much higher level?
  7. I've started over with the game, since it didn't worked well. So I had also to built this build again. As described I keep now sinister predator at 5 higher then ancient bark. I'm now level 27 on silver and currently residing in Artamark. Just fetched the lizard. Since you use the capricious hunter tree alot, especially DA, I took the hunter lizard. Combined with the goldmod hunting focus on SP you keep the regentime low. DA is now around 3,2s and with acute mind it becomes around the 2,5. I've gold modded darting assault, sinister predator and ancient bark. This build doesn't almost get a scratch. Combining DA with TT works great and I also use edaphic lances. Using now a blowpipe where I have socketed a poison fang and twisted torment, also have 2 bows (one with fire and one with ice, again also with TT), a shuriken and hammer of the north. This build seems to be succesfull in farming uniques and set items and I haven't even used EP or bargaining. Fetched the hammer of the north, halberd of the commander, something with heroes (don't know the exact name), inquisition token, ringof the winds and 3 pieces of Daerwain's revenge, of which I got dairwain's sash and dairwain's boots twice (level 15 and level 30) Some of them I got as a reward from a quest, like 2 pieces of level 30 dairwain's revenge I got from The Abbess (the last quest from the chain the shadows of the seraphim) I've putted most points into dexterity and putted also some into vitality and just 2 in stamina. I think I replace constitution with EP, since the build is already pretty strong and I read somewhere in this thread that constitution is optional.
  8. You can zoom in at the mini map with the tab button. Next to that; some exploring doesn't hurt. Morrowind for example doesn't come with any markers at all and you have to find the things yourself. It has a map, but you don't see much on it. With one quest for the imperial cult I was sended to nammu, which lies somewhere at the coast. Took me some hours to finally find that blasted cave. Same goes with the urshilaku burial caverns, which are just hidden between some rocks. In that case Sacred 2 is quite easy.
  9. A couple of those escort quests are quite annoying yes, but I can't kill a child (little mary in the quest in the hands of kobolds) I try to first clear the area, like with the quest Holdup. As soon as that quest pops up I just run into the brigands and kill them. In most times they will be accompanied by undead and rats. After killing the brigands I clear the route between that npc (malian or something like that) and the maingate of Thylysium. Otherwise you have to protect her from undead, rats, toxic elements, boars and malicious brigands (and also some dastardly) and if you're lucky you sometimes also come across a brown bear. After clearing the road I go back, talk to the npc and escort her to Thylysium, which is then just a nice walk. With Meliondor it's more easier. First be sure you have already reached Thylysium and activated the monolith. Go to that guy, hit F8 and you find yourself with meliondor in Thylysium. Now all you have to do is to walk to his sister's house and bring the sad news. If you already have him with you, then let him closely stick to you (stay near me) and set it to attack as group. Be sure you are always a step forwards to meliondor. Just throw yourself in front of him. And if you really desperate you can always let him killed, but then you fail the quest. I hate it myself to see a failed quest, so I always try to complete it.
  10. That's the easter quest. It starts at the temple in thylysium, then go further at clearview and finally it ends up in Grunwald in Artamark. The reward from the bunny is a couple of ears with some nice enchantments on it. You probably also find some other items and a pile of gold (got myself also some amulets, armor pieces and some weapons) Did this quest a few times. Got no crashes though as soon as I entered the cave. Did it with a seraphim and a high elf.
  11. Hmm, difficult. It's a tie between the High Elf and Dryad. I like the Seraphim too. But it's the High Elf that comes at first place. Why? Well, I have something with magic. I like to play with magical characters. The High Elf comes the closest to the mage and you can also turn the HE to a battlemage and probably also to a spellsword (a class in the TES games) She has a wide selection of magic spells and most of them are not weapon related. Burning, freezing and electrifying can all be done. The HE is an expert in magic. The HE needs also strategic thinking, since she's very weak when it comes to close combat, just like what the case is in general with mages. While the HE sometimes sound a bit spoiled (player, if you don't bother, then can you at least bring me some tea and biscuits) she also have some funny lines and at least the HE doesn't yell (instead she giggles) Another thing is that the HE quickly gain a level and I think the fastest of them all. After a couple of minutes and you have just barely left celioth's tower you already gain a level. The mount of the High Elf is fun too. I noticed that when you ride on the Wind Serpent you float above the ground. You actually fly a bit. It doesn't make much sound though. The monitor lizard is chewing rocks all the time and the tiger also make noise all the time. And the High Elf itself is cute. The sets looks great. The High Elf can also wear the most rings and amulets. A true ringmaster as it seems. Seems like elves likes shiny things. The Dryad comes second. Master in ranged weapons and also practise a bit voodoo. The spells are nature based, bit like the druid class in NWN2, and are weaker then that of the HE. But once you hit some higher levels and have modded it a bit the spells got better. The dryad is stronger then the HE when it comes to close combat and can withstand punches better. With Ancient Bark it's a cakewalk and enemies can slash and punch what they want, but the Dryad doesn't get a scratch. Although I put the HE overall at the first place, the Dryad seems to be the funniest character. "you see, that wasn't so bad after all" after the enemy drops dead. I like that sarcastic touch. The monitor lizard is great too, except that it's very noisy when in idle. It sounds like it's chewing rocks or bones and that works on your nerves a bit. The seraphim comes third. An allround character that can use heavy weapons, use some magic and technology. The tiger is fun too. I like cats and the tiger is just a big cat. Too bad it doesn't do any damage, like the description seems to let you believe you that. However, the seraphim sounds sometimes a bit creepy and I don't like that yelling. But she is good in close combat and can also use a bit spells. I like archangels wrath, radiant pillar and baneful smite. Instill belief is fun too. The Temple guardian is okay, same goes for the dragon mage. The Shadow Warrior is too easy and not much fun to play and I don't like the inquisitor so far. I have played with the Inquisitor a bit, but it doesn't feel right. Not because it's a dark figure, but because I can't get used to it.
  12. edit: read your post again. It's a little cave as it seems. The big cave where Bloodmouth resides is short after it. And I think with putrescine's hybrid dryad you can make short work of the elementals and don't have to flee. I will try the cave with my dryad and ice elf, maybe seraphim too
  13. 1) Sacred 2 is not a MMORPG, but a RPG with multiplayer support. You only pay for the game and that's it. No monthly fee or something like that, just a one time payment just like any other game in the store 2) Amazon has the gold edition. http://www.amazon.com/Sacred-2-Fallen-Ange...2299&sr=1-6 and I think other stores may also have it. 3) Well, there are more possibilities. At least you can run mods and can modify the game yourself. Also you can patch the game. With the console you're more or less sticked to what you have bought. 4) As far as I know not in the game itself. You can run third party programs like Teamspeak or Xfire to use voicechat. In case of your last question: it depends of what you expect. I would say it is worth to get it. You get an open world with alot of possibilities, six unique characters, tons of quests, enemies and items and hours of gameplay. Keep in mind it is a hack & slash game, so don't be surprised if you run into lots of enemies. It is not something like The Elder Scrolls or The Witcher or Drakensang, but more in the direction of Diablo. Here is a gameplay video, probably posted by one of the admins of this site. And here on Darkmatters there are people who can help you. There are already some good guides written down here and next to that you have the wiki.
  14. Rather no MMORPG please. Not that I hate MMO's, I played rappelz epic 5 a bit, but there are so many already and it's pretty much the same. I like to play solo, where you can try out things yourself and have the control over it and also been able to play when you want. Another thing is also the spamming with those MMO's. With the free ones you soon run into players who spam all the time of selling items. I think also that Sacred is more suited for singleplayer then MMO. This is the second singleplayer franchise where there are rumors about a MMO game. There are also rumors of a TES MMO. I hope Bethesda don't hop on the bandwagon and make one. TES is definitely not suited for MMO.
  15. There are also character specific quests, so it's not all the same. Yeah, the mainquest is, but Sacred 2 is more then only the mainquest. Next to that, just what Colif says, you also want to try other kind of builds or just start over because you're not happy with the current one.
  16. The unique mounts are based on the aspect and then there is a regular one. For the Wind Serpent you can choose between one for Arrant Pyromancer, Mystic Stormite and Delphic Arcania and one with some resistance. It lowers the regeneration time of that aspect and increases for the other ones. Let's say you play with a pyro build, then you would go for the arrant pyromancer wind serpent, since it lowers the regeneration of the aspect arrant pyromancer. So be sure to pick one you use the most. Here you find more information: http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php5/Sacred_2:Mounts
  17. Gonna to quote my own post, since no one has answered. So far I have grabbed 2 set pieces; one is legguards of the benevolence and the other is for the dragon mage (draagen's helmet of mental might) The draagen one fetched near Twainbrook, the other at benny's corn circles. Also fetched some unique ones, like testa's annihilator, thain's axe, zardonn's pulverizer, ring of the winds and begulor's sparkles. I'm level 23 at the moment. I have the feeling that Bargaining is a waste and is only useful at the early stages. I find more powerfull items when looting kobolds and undead and I don't shop that often. I also got tons of runes.
  18. It depends on the service they deliver. Since Koch Media acquired the Sacred branch there isn't much service anymore. Ice & Blood got no serious patches, only some minor ones which doesn't fix things at all. I have the feeling that with Ice and Blood only more bugs have appeared and Sacred 2 is now just as in the beginning. Ascaron did at least fix the things, but deep silver not. Since version 2.34 sacred 2 was stable. I wonder who the developer may be, since Deep Silver is only the publishing branch of Koch Media.
  19. Looks good. I was just looking for a shopping char. So with this one you also get sets more easier? How does this build act against tough bosses like Bloodclaw and Garganthropod or those from ice & blood? Some of the bosses are quite tough in melee.
  20. Nice tips, but I don't agree with the following line: You learn the best if you experienced it yourself. Planning a build out of the blue isn't a bad thing. Next to that you get some new builds then. Otherwise all the builds just look the same. It's just good to have new ideas. The wiki is a good source to learn some things, next to the manual. But you don't have to read the wiki to make a build.
  21. With the Seraphim you get an orc to fight at your side and that guy doesn't die at all. First you need to start the seraphim's quest (it starts with childrens & demons in sloeford) Near the end of the questline and when you're in Nor Plat you met some orc who accompany you to go to the seraphim island to stop the dark seraphim (which is going to sophia) The orc does pretty do some damage and it seems immortal.
  22. I play now with this build. I like it But I have changed here and there a bit and not that I copy the build exactly. Next to vitaly and especially dexterity I also spend some into stamina. Why? Because if you start eating runes for Ancient Bark and sinister predator the regentime increase and I use Darting Assault alot. I've also socketed moribund animus into a piece of armor, because that one has a life leech per hit as side effect. I don't use the animus. Life leech works great on enemies, combined with Darting Assault you got the enemies quick down. And that Ancient Bark works fantastic. My dryad doesn't get a scratch, even if she is attacked by a group of kobolds combined with boars. I use 3 fire relics for fire resistance. My main weapon is a blowpipe, enhanced with a poison fang. Next to that I have 2 bows, one with magic and one with fire damage, and a throwing star, with ice damage. I also use some unique rings, like Bar'Tender ring. I'm level 21 at the moment.
  23. I guess he means the map in-game. In-game you see the names of a place when you move with your cursor over it, which only works if you have already visited that place.
  24. edit: now the forum is white again and with blue letters. It's not ABP then. But the site is still a bit slow. Slower then a couple of days before. And that annoying christmas thing appears again. Can that be changed? Christmas is already over and for this year it's not earlier then the 6th of December (here that is, in the US it begins already in November)
  25. Ah, it's back. And it's improved. Let's say newer and better. The loading of the forum goes much faster and it seems the login issue is also completely solved now. Good work.
