masteff 68 Share Posted June 8, 2012 Argh!! My first HC toon didn't even make it out of Act 1! I decided to take a break and exited while my toon was in the Highlands. Only problem is I'd just gotten the staff and had triggered a checkpoint, so I respawned in the middle of the Highlands which meant in the middle of mobs. Oh well, lesson learned. Link to comment

Ryanrocker 200 Share Posted June 11, 2012 Well just bit the dust today fellas at 49, almost 50. Just beaten Azmodan and forget to change back my skills from single target to multitarget before starting Act IV. So quite promptly I ported into the Iskatu boss battle and was swarmed by a hundred shadow vermin (literally) with no way to get rid of them all. So lesson learned: Don't forget to switch out your skills after a certain encounter! Side note: Azmodan's fire ball does roughly 10k damage in nightmare. Be advised. Link to comment

I've loaded many a dangerous checkpoint to the point I've become quite familiar with dangerous and safe checkpoints. I'll often load an earlier checkpoint in order to avoid the dangerous ones. Sand and Blood can be bad for that... ryan dudey, I'm sorry you didn't get a chance to taste level 50 before departing What a loss. With all the goodies you've found along the way up I'm sure you'll level fast! Oh and cheers for that Azmodan fireball heads up. 10k damage?! Yikes! Link to comment
Dragon Brother 620 Share Posted June 11, 2012 Well, first HC death, was a little distracted in the arreat crater the first time you go out and got whacked...bit of a shame really, but theres always next time...onto a new toon. Also...I had my first real hit with lag today, may have contributed to this death a little...I did think I popped my heal spell, but was getting 2.5k ping consistently for a while after the death so I've taken a break for the night. And DB, I know what you mean about those massive lag last night, I went down last night too, level 44 I KNEW I was gonna die...I left game earlier cuz there was too much lag, and I had been playing straight through two days... but there was just a tiny bit of the bar left for me to get to level 45... I entered the game, instantly the entire screen was black, I could not fire my gun, and a single enemy showed up, those horrible leaping toads...elite... my gun, not firing...tried to run, screen kept blinking on and off, all I could hear were thumps and the occasional view of my toon as life was dissapering...sigh, I feel crushed, wonder if hc is like gambling? I think we're gonna have build a HC chapel or something like they have in those casinos in the states... alas, where do I find myself this morning, oh where...drat you blizzard, you have built the devil's play ground! *shakes fist* Oh the hells shall trembleth! gogo Link to comment

Clicked on it. Arcane Enchanted/Vampiric mob spawns. It's all over with no spirit to hit invincibility skill Link to comment

I've actually worked out two or three different Combat Arts I can use in case of emergencies, they can get us down skinny to the bone fast. Sorry for loss Come back stronger! gogo Link to comment
gogoblender 3,338 Share Posted June 24, 2012 This is the farthest I've ever gotten in the game, a proud level 54 HC, and with a Hell level title to boot! I guess I wasn't as scared as I should have been to play, and I got caught grandstanding in the middle of a pool of desecreation while my quickly declining healthpoints raced against this Elite Mob's ring leader trying to see who could out last whom.
