Dragon Brother 619 Share Posted August 31, 2012 Well, it looks like that now we are into september, the wraps have come off Sacred 3 and a whole bunch of sites have released their writeups on the brief preview they saw. The following links were all posted by Keen Games on facebook: http://www.thesixtha...cred-3-preview/ http://www.trueachie...and-screens.htm http://www.kotaku.co...about-sacred-3/ http://www.xbox360ac...-2012--Sacred-3 http://thegamershub....cred-3-preview/ http://www.gameswelt.../seite-1,167542 (German) http://www.gamestar....60,3004162.html (German) http://rad-community...s3-preview.html (German) http://www.gamestrus...en,id924,3.html (German) http://www.gamersglo...spielt-sacred-3 (German) Enjoy! Edit: added a few more to the list. Also, Birne had this to say about a thread on the official forums: Because there are a lot of previews out there, that are ... let's say at least not necessarily accurate or representative, Maurice has assembled a list with hard facts: http://forum.deepsil...1763#post551763 Check it out, no sign up required to read Link to comment
gogoblender 3,199 Share Posted August 31, 2012 omgod, I thought you were going to post about a bunch of flash floods happening in Australia! I have to add so much to the Sacred 3.org site, great finds DB! gogo Link to comment
Scleameth 19 Share Posted August 31, 2012 jeepers - that's a whole lot of info! Nice catch DB! Link to comment
gogoblender 3,199 Share Posted August 31, 2012 They reviews are pretty good..holy hannah, a great way to start this weekend! Interestingly, levels are actually rather open plan affairs, meaning that new paths and hidden areas are open to you depending on Yee haw! gogo Link to comment
Scleameth 19 Share Posted August 31, 2012 that first link starts: Tens, maybe hundreds, spent in the pursuit of fame, glory and some good, old fashioned loot? I beg to differ.... try thousands of hours for most peeps here! Link to comment
gogoblender 3,199 Share Posted August 31, 2012 The two english previews I am getting bullets from are just amazing. This is not going to be the kind of Sacred I think that are used to...but Im honestly looking for a fair *sacred fix* that gives me loot, ability to play with my friends, a reasonable level of difficulty, open worlds and some good ole Sacred humor! Thousands only Scleameth? gogo Link to comment
lujate 578 Share Posted August 31, 2012 Is it too soon to be concerned that Seraphim have but been mentioned yet? Link to comment
gogoblender 3,199 Share Posted August 31, 2012 heh, true eh They must be being kept in surprise, maybe a reboot? gogo Link to comment
ololcat 3 Share Posted August 31, 2012 (edited) I don't know... Still no real gameplay footage and noteworthy info. All this talk about how great previous games were and "the art of gameplay" don't cut it. A little thing that I noticed: there are a few words about button mashing and "more action orientated approach". These make me think that new Sacred will be an action game (like Darksiders II but with isometric view) with combo meter, dodge button and all that, and that's not exactly Sacred game. I still have hope that S3 will be a good ol' diablo killer with mouse-clicking enemies to death just like old times and look forward to some real info and footage. Shadout 8 Share Posted August 31, 2012 Damn some of those sites are bad. Couldnt they have found some who could write, and maybe even think for themselves while doing so. Preferably someone who knew Sacred 2 as well. Just take this: "I was told that gameplay will clock in at around the 100 hour mark, which is before you factor in engame and multiplayer content. This is due to each level being able to be played multiple times so each time it “tells a different story,” whatever that means." Well, if you don't know what it means, it might have been an idea to ask them? Otherwise it might sound like you are just rewriting a PR speech. Anyway, reading about the game I actually think of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light - which is a lovely little game - where the design focus was heavily on 2-player co-op, although allowing singleplayer. Focus on smaller more puzzle-based areas/levels, a few usable skills, loot etc. It surely had next to nothing in common with A-RPG's though. Link to comment
DaveO 88 Share Posted August 31, 2012 With the mention of DLC, I think it's safe to say that there will be at least one DLC patch to fix things within the first week if not the first day. I can live with quick fixes, but if the game needs multiple patches to address bugs that might have been addressed by holding back launching the release I would much rather have a fairly bug-free experience than have the game released before it's ready. Rotluchs 83 Share Posted August 31, 2012 (edited) thx for the link collection, Bro what I've read so far kinda crushes all hope I had left for a 'real' Sacred or at least a 'pure' A-H&S RPG R.I.P Sacred ... edit: read the one over @ gamestar.de : seems like the regressions from S>Sacred 2 will continue from Sacred 2>S3 , just even more drastical.. or, they try to clone or 'beat' D3, which can't be good.. (since D3 was a step into the wrong direction too, imho.. not a bad game, but not a really good one either) have fun with it you guys.. Edited September 1, 2012 by Rotluchs Link to comment
Dragon Brother 619 Author Share Posted September 1, 2012 It seems from these previews that the game will definitely be different. Some gameplay footage would be really nice to see how it does play though... Link to comment

Flix 5,164 Share Posted September 1, 2012 Seraphim were mentioned in the press release: They say that whoever possesses the Heart of Ancaria will decide the fate of the world. Zane Ashen, ruler of the corrupt Ashen Empire, will do everything in his power to obtain the Heart; however, the Seraphim have hidden it away in a secure and secret place. Whether or not they're playable remains to be seen... Press Release Link to comment
Steerpike1 53 Share Posted September 1, 2012 My take on it is that Sacred Citadel will see the three characters fighting their way to free the seraphim from the said citadel, and then S3 will be the four heroes fighting to stop Zane Ashen. Oh I could be completely wrong with my wild speculation. Link to comment

Dobster 39 Share Posted September 1, 2012 A dev from Sacred 2 posted over at the SIF earlier. It seems he is not happy either. http://forum.sacred2.com/showpost.php?p=666669&postcount=51 I really hope Keen can prove us wrong and that the game deserves the '3' in the title. Link to comment

Steerpike1 53 Share Posted September 1, 2012 I'm not bothered whether it wears a three, a citadel or a pink elephant label as long as it deserves to wear Sacred. So far, most of what I've read makes me think I'm looking at Golden Axe meets D3 and DS3 on a drunken night out in Ancaria... Link to comment

So far, most of what I've read makes me think I'm looking at Golden Axe meets D3 and DS3 on a drunken night out in Ancaria... D3 and DS3 weren't worthy of their predecessors and should have been separate games. Both games were made by outsiders to the original series, and the games kept the franchise name for the sake of publicity, which is the same as what's happening here. Ascaron is gone, what could any of us reasonably expect? At best, a decent game that happens to wearing the costume of a series with goodwill. Link to comment
gogoblender 3,199 Share Posted September 4, 2012 Flix, this is exactly what I feel is happening here.. the kind of change that happened with Dungeon Siege 3...I'd actually seen someone here post that and instantly I though.. "Ahhh, exactly"... and then I kind of sighed... for I had bought dungeon siege 3, and enjoyed the play through...but could only play it once, the game seemed to give it all up after a single play through... I even asked Schot... what could have made dungeon siege 3 better, in hopes that something like that could occur for where Sacred 3 seems to be going going... beuatiful graphics, a history, set up pathing.... gogo Link to comment
