After more than two years of seeming to get away with a haven of busy posting here, one has made it through. In this case, the bot could have been registered by human and then set up to spam your pms. Ths name was Thegreatsharon, and it would have sent this pm: Hello Dear, my name is sharon I saw your profile at darkmatters.org and I found pleasure to write you as my my friend so that we can communicate to each othere,please mail me through my email address (sharon207khalifa@yahoo.com that I will send you my pic for you to know who I am for the love and pleasure I have develpoed in your lovely profile I awaits your lovely reply as soon as you get this mail. sharon please please please contact this email directly sharon207khalifa@yahoo.com Please do not respond to the pm, as it could be dangerous. So the bot works alphabetically and got to a certain number of peeps at the top of the alphabet before he got blasted to smithereens. Well... it seemed like too good a thing, I guess...I had known now for a good bit of time that almost every other forum I know has been getting spambots, and that for some reason we had managed to evade them. We can increase the number of questions that guests have to answer before registering, make them more difficult, etc. I'm still getting the feeling that this "bot" was registered by human though. gogo Link to comment

Since I dont swing that way or have posted anywhere to make anyone think I did I knew it was spam *lol* Her info was added to yahoo's spam listing after I got it. Link to comment

Only spam I get on a regular basis is people trying to sell me viagra through my university email. I also had two email address not on my contact list message me on msn asking if I wanted to see their webcams I put it down to lolvirus and ignored it. Link to comment

Haha. One of them finally broke through. I've been doing a bit of reading on spam bots and it seems to be that not only bots spam but so do people. Hired spammers that is and I have to wonder if this one was of the humanoid type. Link to comment

Was going to send a pm question, but saw it was a pm from a "Deleted" member and decided the Q was unnecessary. Guess I'm naive here - I thought it was all about cordial friendship. I had not even entertained the concept that it would be one of "those" pictures - haha! Link to comment
