  1. The Helmbarte was a more modern version of the Rossschinder (ross = horse, schinder = hurting) a weapon designed to stop cavalry. Helm is ancient german for pole, barte for axe. A halberd usually combines the horse stopping power of a lance with the cutting ability of an axe against infantry. The Hellebarde (halberd) was a lighter developement of the Helmbarte for parades, guard troops (today the swiss guards of the Vatikan still use them), ceremonies, A Feldherr (translated as commander) is the highest commanding officer(or noble) who leads the Herr (army) on the Feld (battlefield).

  2. I feel with you, It is really best if you remember the funny and good moments. When we visit the grave of my dad we often laugh, because it are the funny moments with him I tell to my kids. Not able to see him anymore before dying... I have very mixed feeling about this. My grandpa was just getting weaker and weaker and the whole family could say good bye. My dad, he had several strokes and was not able to breath anymore without machines. After 3 weeks I was asked for an okay to turn of the machines. His body was trying for 3 more hours to breath and I felt guilty to gave the okay. T

  3. I'm sorry to learn about what you are going through now, Theuns. Loosing a close family member is one of the most difficult things that we human creature have to endure; losing one's mother is likely the hardest of all. I'm sure that I speak for the rest of the team here that our hearts go out to you at this time.

  4. Welcome to DarkMatters, Miklas. Both of the games are available (DRM-Free) at GOG and often they are deeply discounted. There, you can add them to a wish list and you will be notified via email when either of them are on sale; they usually offer them for only a few dollars.

  5. Olm is the German name for a very strange real existing beast: The Grottenolm, cave olm. It is a kind of albino blind aquatic cave salamander. Olms are somehow mudpuppies who never leave there cave. They are albino, blind, with no pigment cells, die in the sun, ... In the ice age most of the caves were connected. and they were more often. Now cave divers and tourists made it that they only existat a few places still They have a lifespan of more than 100 years but a very frustrating sexual life laying only eggs once in all this time. They can life 10 years without feeding, .. T

  11. Hello and welcome. I am biased since I worked on CM Patch and Enhanced Edition but IMO those two are all you need for the best experience. Character Editor is good for cheating and experimentation. Wardust's mod has gotten a little out of date and doesn't have good compatibility with Enhanced Edition anymore. Also in EE I did lots of texture changes of my own (lots of HQ/Elite textures added for formerly low-resolution ones) so that wouldn't play too well with Wardust.

After WW1 flying was forbidden in Germany, her parachutes were copied and she became poor and had to earn money by air acrobatics aged over 60... Before her it was like this. The parachute was mounted below a ballon and the the ballon was released.

  14. sword -> Épée I once did modern pentathlon as a teen. Because of my long arms I did quite well in fencing. Rules were then a duel with each of the opponents till first hit. I had a very long range and was left handed. At longer duels opponents would have probably found a way to fight and win, but at first hit, it were just a jump attack from me with 89% hits. Swimming and shooting were good too. But I was like a monkey, too short legs and too big size for running. Riding was okay if lucky with the horse lottery. Second in state championship in my age group. But I lost way too much

  15. It is the primary reason, why so many uniques have been not only altered model-wise, but also renamed in the Addendum. I'm not a native Germanic group language(to which English belongs) bearer, so the strangeness might seem even more acute to me.

  18. Tornado's are rare here. The main problem are heavy storms with rain clouds trapped for days over an area. North America has no real mountains going from west to east, so cold air can get all the way down from the northpole to Mexico which may result in snowstorms far in the south. Europe has these mountains, but often when rainclouds come from the southwest they work like a cloud trap. And it affects big areas, from the alpes to the netherlands this time. Our second and her friend are still busy with cleanup. She asked if we could take one tent more for our summercamp to fill it wit

  20. A most logical choice, although faulty batches occur. Kingston SSD's have shown to be highly reliable at my place. We still have 60Gb units from 2014 up and running, without a single failure. Silicon Power, on the other hand, has proven to be a.... bad purchase.

They preferred certain fixed spots in an area which wouldn't change too quickly for long time statistics. All our kids did it, but the twins are now in a fitting age to earn some pocket money with it. In a 120 people village babysitting and graw mewing is not really a way to earn lot of money. If the spider leaves the mid of the net and no prey it will rain, if a spider does big nets exspect cold days... The twins earn some pocket money by reporting when certain birds are first seen, leave, certain plants start to blow, and spiders ,,, The natural institute for weather research pays for the reports.

  27. tricksters -> mathematics I learned some tricks in topology lessons at university, like at the same moment grapping one end of a belt with your left hand, the other with your right hand and doing a knot in the belt without releasing the grip of either hand. The professor was on frontpage of a economy magazine. He said that being a math prof was only his hobby, being a magician at a casino was his real money. trickster way, cheating mathematicians use topology and transform a knot in their arms into a knot in the belt:

  29. Turkish Ice Cream => Dondurma (to the locals)! Dondurma is the Turkish word for ‘freezing' and it's much like what we in the west know as ice cream but it is also somewhat malleable, because an aromatic resin, mastic, is included in the concoction. And, in addition, salep (powered orchid bulb) is added. However, I don't know whether or not if that is what prevents the dondurma from freezing solid.

  42. Oh! That's why they were talking about eating just one rune sometimes. Perfect, that makes more sense to me now. One question tho, while we're here. The actual speed of the animation time of the CA is affected by the amount of runes and any penalties, correct? So having a CA with just one rune you'll see the character execute the skill extremely fast and also have a low cool down? Well luckily I found some sweet Regen per hit and have socketed my armor up, so I can cover up my booboos for now.

Hi! Relatively new to posting on forums and retexturing here. There was a handful of helpful guides I've read from this site when I was new to Sacred (I still am) and thought I should post these to somehow give back and also because somebody out there may like one of the designs I've made. Please go easy on me I'm no pro at Photoshop. Still, I probably had more fun editing than I should, thinking it was RPG dress-up. Makes you feel like an ar-TISTE I've chosen the Daemon (or "Demoness" since Daemon sounds like a virtual CD drive to me) because she has wings, can fly, has horns, also the
