  1. Night Windows by the Weakerthans (on CBC Radio 3)
  2. Ooh, a Thai idea is good. I thought about perhaps some chilis or something, but didn't want to do hot with this one... might be a good variation though, it sounds really tasty Genenut, yeah, my daughter's only 5 so doesn't eat a large portion. For adults and teens, I'd probably say one chicken breast per person, and adjust as needed. A lot of the spicing and such is basically by sight/feel, I almost never measure things Just spice as feels right for the amount of chicken and apple. For 4 I'd probably use two apples and 4 breasts. Bump up on the couscous a bit if they'll need more food I had to go back in the forum to find which caramelized chicken recipe you meant Figured it was the cheesy caramelized chicken one (which it was), but had to check, as I tried to develop a different sort of carmelized chicken recipe, but never managed to do it right. I tried one in which you actually caramelize sugar, spiced with stuff like cayenne and stuff... which would be poured over baked chicken, served with rice... but never managed to properly caramelize the sugar, overdoing it and making a very VERY bitter sauce that was pretty much inedible. I blame it on using electric heat I had no issues caramelizing sugar for creme caramels at the restaurant I worked at using butane.
  3. 2-3 I suppose. Fed myself, my wife and daughter.
  4. Lat night I decided to toss together a food experiment and see how it turned out; apple chicken with couscous. It turned out pretty well, though I think at times it could have used an extra little something in the flavour. 2 breasts of chicken 1 medium apple (I used MacIntosh, I doubt a sweet apple would work as well) Italian seasoning Onion powder Black pepper (preferably fresh ground) Chinese five spice cinnamon Lemon pepper Olive oil Organic honey (liquid) Core apple and cut into small pieces (maybe 1cmx1/2cmx1/2cm -ish?). Cut the chicken breasts into stir-fry sized chinks as well. Preheat a pan with olive oil and cook the chicken at a med-low heat (somewhere around 4 on the stove dial), adding seasonings to taste (Italian seasoning, a little less onion powder, some black pepper, little bit of lemon pepper). When the chicken is cooked, add the apple, mix the chicken and the apple together, then shake on the Chinese five spice and some cinnamon. cook and mix the apple and chicken until the apple is soft and the spices are evenly coated on both items. Add a little honey to the mixture and mix it up; remove from the heat and let it sit for a moment. Prepare your couscous as it should be, add some cinnamon and salt to taste. Serve the apple chicken on a bed of couscous, or mix them together and enjoy. Our lemon pepper was a solid mass in the bottom of its bottle and I had to scrape some out to use it... I don't think the flavour came through at all, and may be why it seemed to lack something. Fresher spice could help
  5. Downloaded easily enough. I'll take a look at it later on. Seriously:) How can you do a Masters without a thesis? I've never encountered a Masters that didn't entail research and the presentation of that research (preferably with some publications as a result). Here, you can do a Bachaelor's without a thesis, or you can take the "honours" route and do one... usually the honours thesis is a requirement for doing post-graduate studies.
  6. The Wii version of this game may redeem it, despite its lack of respect for the general concepts of the setting and the Force. Using the Wiimote to control your lightsaber is, well, a feature we Star Wars gamers have lusted after for years!
  7. This name I made up somewhere around 1998, phonetically combining two other words, Ankh (Egyptian symbol of life/immortality) and Inconnu (French for obscured or hidden)... hence, Ankhanu. I'd been using it on an off since then until I started playing ogame and my primary nick was already taken... then everyone here and on the important IRC channels knew me as Ankhanu rather than my old name, and I've stuck with it. My former primary nick was used since about 1995 and still gets used now, Sluagh. I took it from the White Wolf RPG, Changeling the Dreaming... they're a secretive faerie race that live in shadows and cannot speak above a whisper... The word itself means "the people" or "the host" in Scottish Gaelic, and also related to a spirit or faerie in Scottish lore that moved with the wind, howling along, stealing up the souls of those who had just died. So there ya have it.
  8. A nickname is a nickname... it doesn't mean a whole lot, the person behind the name is the same. I've used dozens of names through the years, though I have 2 I always come back to.

    Defrag

I assume that the microSD card is for a phone? Probably the easiest thing to do is remove all content from the card and format it. Shouldn't take very long, then just move the content back over. Should go over unfragmented. As I'm sure that the card isn't Mac formatted, but formatted for whatever is using it otherwise, this may or may not be applicable... MacOS (after 10.3) defrags its volumes pretty continually, which is why you don't have a defrag installed; it's built into the OS. Since you have fragmentation on the flash drive, I assume that process isn't at work there; however, if you do transfer everything over to the Mac, delete the content on the card (and empty the trash), when you move it back over, the fragmentation should go away even without a reformat of the card... Could be the simplest solution.
  10. Last time I was home, I removed Vista from Kel's system and reinstalled XP. Other than some driver hunts, the world is much better now.
  11. I haven't touched RealPlayer since about 1997... there's a good reason for that. Glad others are taking notice
  12. Whoops, missed some pages Edmonton (and then I used the T in Vermont instead of the e of Orange)
  13. Hehe, I wish New guitar is a couple years away probably. The next one is either going to be a genuine vintage (1961-1974), or a 2006 Custom Shop N.O.S., Fender VI. Gonna need $3000+... I have about $23 saved now I don't really do the birthday thing. I spent the day getting the block heater on my car fixed, then working on my research, then TAing a lab for the evening. A fairly normal Wednesday, save the expense of car repairs
  14. I've become too much of a purist over the past decade Adding things like new troops and retarded lightsaber variations (what's the deal with lightsaber tonfa:) seriously now...) and an escalation in how common Force users are in an era that was pretty well defined and partially defined by an extra scarcity of Force users just annoys me. I mean, doing these things in a future or distant past time line make sense, but not in the Imperial/Rebellion era.
  15. 34616 songs, 98.2 days, 187.83Gb according to iTunes. Before last November I had about 40Gb of stuff; then I handed my external HDD to a friend and got about 140Gb of stuff from him. I'm still slowly going through it and deleting artists I have no interest in; so the GB and song count will come down.
  16. Same here. I'd buy an iPod classic over a Touch any day... I don't really have a use for the Touch features, and 8Gb is just too small. I've been pretty happy with my 4thGen iPod Photo over the past couple years... only thing I'd change is it's capacity; 20Gb is just too small. I have about 170Gb of mp3s now, and going through and cutting it down to fit on 20Gb is a lot of work
  17. Ok, the 7 days without a reply tells me everything I need to know about the activity of the community and whether I should bother with the game
  18. Very nice win, Gogo, ya lucky bastage. Except, it doesn't sound like he gives a rat's arse about the MP3 capabilities, he likes its other toys, which AREN'T available on a cheaper mp3 player.
  19. My Windows (lab) system needed a new background, so I went with today's Cigarro and Cerveja comic.
  20. According to Rush it does... And an uncluttered desktop is a choice
  21. I know someone who tried that... he managed to hook up 5 monitors to one PC (IDK how) but it blew his computer's graphic's card's mind, and it was a bunch of empty desktop space... the game didn't support the resolution =( -Total Yeah, that's what I was thinking. While neat in concept, so few applications/OSes would actually support resolutions that would make use of all that screen space without nasty aspect shifts that it'd be all but useless.
