  1. I could go either way with the shrine thing. Since it's not a legit shrine it could be misleading to mark it. While we're on the subject of the map I noticed there is a blank-name boss marked just northeast of Gahanka near the brigand camp. There's another boss named "banana" marked on prison island south of Thylysium. Are these legit bosses? I don't think I've ever seen anything at these spots. We could also add the ghost dragon boss from the Dragon Mage's class quest (near Gargahok's Destiny) and the turtle boss Gartor added to the Crystal Plane in the CP.
  2. I decided to swap out my Mentalist Draconicon for the much cooler-looking Dragon Magic one. Switching the .dds files was easy enough, I didn't even have to consult anything to figure that out and it looks great. However, the Dragon Magic Draconicon also has flaming hooves that I don't get just from swapping out the textures. Does anyone have any idea how I can modify visual effects like the flaming hooves (or for that matter, the moving flames on the Inquisitor's robes)? EDIT: I figured it out finally. I just had to swap over the right 3D models (two GR2 files and one cm file) and I got it swtiched successfully!
  3. Hi Wardust I'm still enjoying and playing around with your great mod but I have a question: How did you remove the "wings" from the Dragon Mage's generic helm? (THIS HELM). It's a change I'm trying to undo and I can't figure out how you did it.
  4. It's a cold hard fact that S1 has no shared stash. You could do it in multiplayer by giving your friend an item with one character and then coming back to get it with another character. In single player though, I know of a trick but it's a gigantic pain in the ass that was not really worth it for me: "Save your char, and then export it, back out the main menu and setup a coop LAN game, import your char and drop the items. Save, then pick up any items you want the first char to keep and Exit (without saving a 2nd time). Export 2nd char, load up saved LAN game. pick up items and exit. Start up a new campaign and import the 2nd char who will have the the items. The only snag is having to start up a new campaign with the 2nd char."
  5. Uh, well if that's how you look at it don't forget that buffs in Sacred 2 are also combat arts. And gogo explained it. What they lacked was the permanance of Sacred 2's buffs. In S1 there were only castable buffs that expired - and at beginning levels they ran out quickly. Even if you did a good job at keeping regen times low it feels like you spend a lot of time in lower levels re-casting them. At higher levels the duration would get longer so it was not a big deal. I even managed to put Ghost Meadow and Reiki in a combo that regenerated right before they wore off.
  6. Also, if you take shopping as a skill you've really got to dedicate points to it for it to pay off, but it pays off big time. Unlike Sacred 2, you can get some of the best gear in shops. The Demon always gave me trouble (tried a Fire Demon back in the day). She died constantly and it seemed I was always re-casting buffs (oh, those short buffs in S1!). On the other hand I loved loved loved my Multiple Shot/Penetrating Arrow Wood Elf with her Unicorn pal....and my Fire Battle Mage. Ah, that sound of wrenching metal when you cast Fire Spiral and the crackling roar of Fireball! Ahhh....I think I know what I'm playing tonight...
  7. Interesting, though it does seem she'd be spread kind of thin. Then again, it would never get dull. A single aspect High Elf might be more effective but it can get monotonous after a while.
  8. I used it against any creature that cast powerful spells, and particularly against any enemy that could cast Expluse Magic itself (Undead Prince, Yeti on Christmas Island). The chance to make enemies flee in terror was also a big plus for me. I made a Delphic Arcania elf who used it almost constantly for that reason. It kept her from getting overwhelmed in melee so she could pick off fleeing enemies with Cobalt Strike. Those that didn't flee or came back into melee range she could whack with Magic Coup.

  10. I was giving PC information since the OP listed his platform as PC. Unless you're building your Shadow Warrior around heavy use of Skeletal Fortification then Ancient Magic is not a good choice. An Astral Warrior (dipping slightly into Augementing Guidon and possibly Reflective Emanation) is probably the most fun Shadow Warrior - there's lots of variety instead of repetitive melee attacks.
  11. Ancient Magic improves the Skeletal Fortification. I don't think it affects Spectral Hand or any other Shadow Warrior skill.
  12. There's more than just those two pairs of quests. What about the Blacksmith's apprentice who sends you after his master's "stolen" gear (that he actually sold). He sends you to the same cave where you have to look for a missing guard patrol (who died there). And geez....that's just the in the starting village. Quests overlap in locations massively. I'm physically incapable of playing through the game without doing every quest, so after a while you know the most efficient order to minimize backtracking. ......the challenge of the trivia is a lot greater now with no SacredWiki to consult.

  15. That depends on whether you have expert touch turned on. Ysne58 must have it turned off. Expert touch lowers all your regen times but it makes all aspects share regen times. Turn it off and the aspects all have separate timers, but combat arts have slightly higher regen. I very rarely turn if off. Expert touch is better for one you're doing a single aspect character, or if you're putting combat arts from multiple aspects into combos. Keep it turned off if you're using many combat arts from multiple aspects, or just using buffs from other aspects.
  16. Taking both is best but I would never choose Lore over Focus.
  17. Divinity 2 is better in some ways, worse in others. DD is top-down, mouse driven game with Ultima-style world interactivity, D2 is over-the-shoulder 3D and you can change into a dragon and fly around in some parts. Both games have lots of good quests and npc's and a great world to explore. And no hand-holding or quest markers. You have a journal that you can consult for the names of people and your conversations. They both have great music.
  18. Sometimes, when talking about character preference, it's not just combat gameplay but also personality, appearance, and backstory. The Battle Mage was cool but not much personality (just laid back and confident), and he was the character I played the most in S1. But yeah, the Battle Mage and High Elf are redundant. High Elf and Dragon Mage got most of the Battle Mage's combat arts in Sacred 2. The spoiled college girl personality of the High Elf was annoying. The Dragon Mage had a cocky Irish voice and utter confidence. I liked him a lot. Vampires were a great concept in S1. The story is the Vampiress once bit a Seraphim, and the pure blood restored her soul, so she could play as a knight, but also transform into "vampire form" which was more powerful at night and weaker during the daylight. You summoned wolves and bats and had life leeching powers and mind control. Wood Elf and Dryad were essentially the same, the hunter class. Although instead of Voodoo, the High Elf had "Moon Magic" which was more light-oriented. I preferred the Wood Elf gameplay, but preferred the Dryad as a race for variation. The Dryad story could be expanded more. In Sacred 2, they were elves who had split off, and by Sacred 1, they were just generic enemies. Storywise, the Inquisitor is basically among the first of the Dark Elves, but the Dark Elf in S1 was different in gameplay. He had traps and athletic, assassin-type abilities. The Daemon = demon. Basically the opposite of the Seraphim. She had hell magic and various forms. One form allowed her to fly around on little wings. Too bad you didn't like Temple Guardian or Dwarf, they both fit awkwardly into the game universe (both being the technological characters), but they were a blast to play. About the cleavage: I think the Seraphim may be the stereotypical "babe" but the High Elf shows a lot more skin.
  19. Dragon Mage gets a two handed staff, Shadow Weaver I think it's called. And agreed - certain polearms and magic staffs can look they are of the other type.
  20. Absolutely treasured, and not just that, but there is a new wave of players now that Sacred 2 Gold is on Steam and other digiital distributors. They're going to be hungry for that treasure trove too. If there's anything I can to help, I will.
  21. Thanks for making this, I am enjoying it and will probably use parts of this mod permanently. I especially like the changes to the landscape, npc's and monsters! Things look more realistic. Some of the changes to the high elf and dryad made my heroes have two different skin tones that clashed so I didn't keep those changes.
