Katran 0
I have been talking about this with a lot of active players, and I got some interesting answers from them. And I chose to make this poll to see what the total result will be. If you think the poll need a noter answer as an option PM and I will add it. So please help me out solve the Niob mystery. Seductive_Vampie 0
ok I have never gotten a toon to niob yet my vamp is lvl101 and I am working on getting her there but this is the highest I have ever gotten a character. I got sacred working on the laptop so I should be playing more hope to see someone on sometime Link to comment
Arilaftia 0
Oh Kat, the best times are there with the crew I must say! But sometimes I do need a lower char with more excitement facter to keep me going. Link to comment
Erling 3
hmmm, I recently got my first char to niob (140BM) and I started a DE to also get there but the DE died in level 138 so I have to rebuild him -_- I think the 140 is a mule Link to comment
podgie_bear 184
Hey, I would love to get a toon there, if only to see who's there. However my highest ever toon was level 63, so it may take me a while. Link to comment
myles 2
I'm not active nowadays but I was a regular in Niob with the old gangs. The primary Niob rush! I was a newbie back then and remembered being "escorted". Is it that bad now in Niob? Link to comment
Genenut 8
I got my daemon to level 121 and she died, got my shards bm to level 137 and he died.... I'm working on a dwarf. Hes at level 102 *crossing fingers* maybe this time I'll make it Link to comment
FrostElfGuard 9
I have 2 or three characters parked at 140 (mules/xp boosters). My characters that are higher than that die soon after entering Niob. Niob is deadly. I get overconfident. My toons get deaded. I'm so eager to enter Niob that I forget that I can keep playing in the lower difficulties --though there are xp penalties for sandbagging. The lower level difficulties are just safer. Or...if I do enter and stay in Niob from 140 on... I can play in Ancarian and/or earlier sections of the game that are simply put: less dangerous. I voted in this poll: I always die in Niob. 'Cause it is too hard for my current skill level. But like the "dead guy on the plague cart in Monty Python and the Holy Grail", I'll get better! Link to comment
Rotluchs 82
stopped playing sacred few months ago, but before that, I played Niob only.. as a matter of fact I always tried to get asap up to there, as in bronze.. well.. forgive me but sometimes there are too many yerks there than I could stand, and I level too fast anyway hehe. I bet that I spend ~80% of my total online-time in platin+niob, after ~15 lvl216 understandable I think.. however, the last one took me less than 10hours to get there iirc (max level ofc, not niob.. arrived there after 4hrs or so ) Greetings RL (PS.: maybe I drop in for a visit soon, just to see who of you's still there but doubt it very much as I would have to find my DVD again, first.. it's .. heck.. lost, somewhere ...) Knuckles 904
My answer is a combination of 2 reasons 1) Tired of the grind (one I checked) 2) Most people I generally play with have never even sniffed Niob I'll usually get to Niob and at level 140 take on either the Sakarras or Golems. If I survive then I know I got a good build and I sort of lose any interest in grinding the last levels. If my build is getting thumped or ends up dying, I go back to Bronze and rebuild it Link to comment
Schot 407
I tend to get bored myself at 150 and by 160 I'm itching to start over. I guess it's probably due to the fact that my interests are more in discovering the secrets of Sacred and I tend to find that discovering secrets comes easier when I'm not having to concentrate so much on my characters health. That and the fact that the Kamikaze basically dictates how and where I'll play these days which I love. Link to comment
stubbie 21
I could never make a toon that would last past gold. Love the game.........doesn't mean I'm any good at it stubbs Link to comment
Katran 0
This poll is going very interesting. Nothing like I thought it would. We even got a fallow up topic thanks to frosty for the first group. Niob Advice Thanks Frosty for that. Link to comment
Csaszar 2
Hi Every single minutes spent outside niob is just waste of time. Lol just joking. Still I made my non niob game time as short as possible. From the time my first char got into niob I was living there. HC Niob is not JUST a difficulty - its much more. The essence of the game. But as Rothluchs wrote: "stopped playing sacred few months ago". Link to comment
DaveO 88
I voted for the grind, but since I have just one Niobium level character(Gladiator - level 161) it's a bit unfair. My other toons at or around level 130 all have a good chance to make it to Niobium but my Blizzard Wood Elf and up-and-coming Amarri Battle Mage have the best chances for long term survival. I'd certainly would like this Kamikaze generation to have one or two sessions in Niobium if we can get the group to make it. Edited February 9, 2008 by DaveO Link to comment
gial 2
I level slowly, so it takes me a ling time to get to niobium -- I've only made it with 3 characters so far; 2 in closed HC, one in SP. I try to play my surviving character at least a little every day. But as Schot pointed out, playing with pals is more fun, and Kami takes most of my attention. Link to comment
myles 2
Niob seems scary, well its not! (if you don't count the lag ) I thought it was difficult at first, but just farm in a start up area and completely change your gear to niob version. Then, it would be just fine. It seems silly to fight in say bellueve (I know I spelled it wrong ), but its not in niob. Those thieves can chop you to Ancaria heaven. And I echo others above, I always jump to a higher difficulty level ASAP. Its a habit, I think, so that I get used to the transition danger and expect it at all times. Niob is the hardest transition, but its not that bad. Oh and set you red flash warning higher helps too. Esp. if your game starts lagging, just drink those potions you know when in doubt. I keep nothing but potion in Niob, and I only pick up gold, set, and unique I might need (or others may want). Rune I only pick up the popular ones. I'm crazy with the rune drop being lower? Its not believe me, its better to just pick up what you need than everything. I limit myself to 5 experience potions, and only use it fighting dragons or sakara demons. I always forget to drink it anyway. Link to comment
