  1. Quick notes: Game is snappier, faster and runs awesomely. Any lag in animations, entering villages and whatnot is virtually inexistent! I changed toons and went with a second one to Griffinborough and I could only notice the frame rate dropping very minimally when approaching the centre of the village with all the lighting. Ran a session, crashed in less than ten minutes. Ran a second one, same result. When running the third I didn't use the surround sound emulator mode on my sound card's control center, which I usually use in games and videos. Weirdly enough, as it's a process that's constantly running in the system tray, I didn't have any crash this time. I won't say out loud that it's related but I'm open to all possibilities right now. On my second session I did a quicksave before the spot where the game crashed on the first session, but the game still crashed around the same time and place. The new "mem flush" trick on quicksave is visually weird. Screen goes black then the world appears stripped of details and then it returns to normal. It should only be used when at a safe distance from mobs. For a quick summary I'd say that Dmitriy is definitely onto something with this new update, but it'll need some extensive testing. Maybe later tonight. I'll be back.

  2. Oh don't mind me, I've been barely sleeping this week and as such I sometimes take a tiny bit more time to get there.

  3. Download has been updated. Dmitriy did more stuff to the code for stability and performance. There's also new tricks you can do with options.txt. He'll explain it if you ask.

  4. I feel you, I'm working two jobs now, plus my "job" of Sacred 2 mod development. I alternate between irritable and loopy.

  5. Thanks! Yes, alt-tabbing is unreliable at best. Join us in the CM Patch 1.60 topic and try out some of the new solutions mastermind Dimitrius154 is cooking up.

  6. I'll try the beetlejuice trick then :D. But now more seriously, yes it is indeed CCleaner that seems to cause it. Thanks a lot for the help. Also, love the reworked forum! Great work on that.

  7. Did some more testing, sorry for a second post, I have screenshots but I think it's better if I post them elsewhere with a comment on each. I ran the lowest possible settings, all of them. I'm only gonna go over the committed memory but all memory types alt-tabbing had the same effect (everything lowered or increased) 784 644 - at launch 995 400 - just created a LAN lobby 1 088 968 - teleported to the location of gar'colossus 1 236 456 - arrived at the bridge I'm gonna attack from 796 556 - alt-tabbed out of the game and back in 928 440 - shot him a few times, (can't see his healthbar, far away) 985 312 - alt-tabbing after shooting a few shots 994 360 - alt-tabbing 2nd time 998 788 - alt-tab 3rd 1 005 132 - 4th, this time running Glary Utilities 1 010 832 - 5th, closed glary - probably just stable around 1 million right? 1 255 472 - attacking gar'colossus again for 2 minutes maybe (can see his healthbar) 1 341 260 alt-tabbing 1 382 524 teleported to the mount island 1 341 212 alt-tabbed on the island 1 334 048 main menu again 1 289 192 alt-tab in main menu Without Glary even installed I get similar results Between alt-tabs the game does lose some memory then gain memory again es expected, but it doesn't release everything, and it seems alt-tabbing affects all tabs in the resource manager (Windows 7, running CM 1.5)

  8. I just have 1 thing to add here, memory leak alt-tab fix doesn't always work. In windows there's commit KB and private KB (among 2 other) as windows puts it, cleansing the memory sometimes, depending on situation will only clear the private. If using an auto memory wipe it would not release the committed memory, only the private. Sacred 2 will release the memory if in town, but if a boss in my case, I tested at gar'colossus shooting him from the bridge, if I alt-tabbed the game would not release memory, but still reload the textures resulting in even more memory usage than before alt-tab. I suspect this is because the game doesn't let go of memory if there's either a boss or a damaged mob. I also noticed that the shooting animation of most spells took up more than 3MB per shot (image only for reference, sacred not booted, I have 2 monitors so I could take photos as I run the game later if anyone's interested)

  9. An insurance policy to keep CTDS in check, at a cost of a certain inconvenience: In options.txt find the following strings: binding_shortcut1 = 1084, binding_shortcut10 = 1111, binding_shortcut11 = 1112, cmd_shortcut1 = "editor", cmd_shortcut10 = "help", cmd_shortcut11 = "help", Set them to: binding_shortcut1 = 65, binding_shortcut10 = 65, binding_shortcut11 = 65, 65 is the default quicksave key - F7, could be a different one for your setup, look up the "binding_savegame" string for the correct value. cmd_shortcut1 = "sys fadeout", cmd_shortcut10 = "sys fadein 2.0", cmd_shortcut11 = "sys flush", As a result quicksaving a game now takes about 6 seconds, but, each time it's done, memory usage defaults to safe levels. Should ensure, that no CTDs happen in either windowed, or fullscreen mode.

  10. Didn't it happened already? You may or may have not wondered where I have been. A storm damaged the antenna mast for our radio link down to the village. So no we had no internet for some weeks at home. Was very funny, the old citizen band radio was used again to talk to other CB users we didn't know before No cellular phone and the cable phone was reserved for my wife for medical emergency calls. All in all it wasn't this bad. The house was way fuller than normal because the friends of the kids had to appear to talk and play

  11. This build scratches a few itches I have. It allows me to have a gaming style where I can play zoomed in most of the time, so I can appreciate the added detail with ET, furthermore increased with the new enemy and gear skins from the CM patch. And it also allows me to play a SW again but not in a regular way for a SW, after a long time spent with HE (SW was my first toon ever on this game). I really like playing weird unnatural hybrid builds in RPGs, and after a long long time spent with Magic Coup HE I needed to try something weird elsewhere, and the Captain America build wasn't much fun in the end as weird and challenging of a build as it was. In my experience Vitality shouldn't really be necessary because of Constitution, as I intent to keep it at character level until mastery. Why do you mention Dexterity on this build? It doesn't add up to any of the weaponry I use, unless you're counting smaller one-handed weapons on the right hand slot. But even then with Dual Wield and its speed/attack bonus I don't think it'll be necessary as well. What's your opinion on leaving Combat Discipline out of this build? Do you feel like it should be in?

  12. Hey everybody! Sorry for bumping an old thread. Thorium, could you, please, provide a simple tutorial on how to use this and what it potentially could be used for?

  13. I am aware that if one uses a cache cleaner (such as CCleaner) and System "temporary files" is checked and the containing folder is then summarily deleted, the files which instruct Windows how to launch the game are removed and it takes yet another three attempts to recreate the file located in the temporary files folder again so that the game will launch with but a single attempt. So, if you do not empty the folder with a cache cleaner the game should launch with the first attempt every time. Therefore, you could avoid the three launch attempt bug that way or just have fun with it and say "Beetlejuice" all three times until the game launches. Nevertheless, I am not to be held responsible for the appearance of any unwanted or bothersome spirits.

  14. This is one of the most inventive builds I have ever taken a look at; it seems quite plausible that the Shadow Warrior could be powerful enough to destroy enemies before they can inflict enough reverse pain (before they perish). High Elf builds tend to accomplish this feat well enough but the fragile lady is truly more vulnerable than the Shadow Warrior (especially with his Toughness.) I'd be sure to add points to Vitality and Dexterity until you feel safe and particularly before mastering Toughness and Concentration. This build gives one a lot of freshly combined variables to consider.

  15. A great read DB.. just cant get over how Nintendo just keeps themelves relevant over all these years. Surely this must be the first portable console that can connect to a big screen experience? That's incredible tech. I saw some scenes from Mario and the Rabids... the gameplay and environments look sick gogo

  16. Yes! Czevak designed this logo. I am responsible for the new colors. Enhanced Spells is NOT compatible, YET. However, I am making a new version of Enhanced Spells that will be compatible! It will be a special "Enhanced Edition" mod that will have many new changes to items, enemies, spells, and skills. Players will have two versions to chose from: Original Spells or Enhanced Spells. But that is the future... first we must complete the CM Patch 1.60. This will be the new foundation on which we build all the mods. I will update old mods for compatibility.

  17. The stats reroll was caused by the Dragon Mage's bonuses being added to items. This was a boneheaded bug on the part of the devs, and it seriously needed to be fixed. I didn't know it would have these side effects, but I wasn't wrong to fix it. The best advice I can give is save your old 1.50 blueprint.txt and overwrite the one from 1.60 after installing it. I guess this goes for anyone who doesn't play Dragon Mages and relies on the stats of random items from downloaded chests.

  18. What I wanted to say ... I'm very happy that the Special-Mount Mod was integrated into the Cm Patch. A question: Designs Czevak a logo for the v0160 again? Have a look - News Sacred Legends - https://www.sacred-legends.de/ Edit: Is the Patch not compatible with the Sacred 2 Enhanced Spells Mod? Hi Dorimil, how are you? The community is not responsible for your leisure time. You make your own luck

  19. Oh the game is awesome...only 'won' once and sent my colonists off the planet. If you like base/colony sims, you will love this. I think what really stands out are the colonists themselves and their relationships with others. I've had fights at weddings, people going on a pyromanic craze as a raid is occurring, manhunter packs of chinchillas (that was scary), and even two 'ladies' that would fight every time they got near each other. Then of course there are the raids, and psychic or poison ships, and a host of random events...probably the worst beng crop blight, volcanic winter and toxic fallout. Have a ton of time invested so far and haven't looked at any of the mods yet. So re-playability is very high.

  20. I blame Sacred 2. After having your dessert, it's hard to go back and enjoy your mashed potatoes.
